新增硕士学位院校生源质量保障的研究

新增硕士学位授予权院校研究生教育大多起步晚，招生计划少，底子薄，缺乏教育经费来源。以集美大学为例，分析了新增硕士学位授予权院校生源质量的现状，并从招生体制、管理体制等方面探讨如何建立生源质量的保障体系。     

Breast Cancer:

Cancer is a major problem for elderly individuals. Overall, it is the second leading cause of death after heart disease and 50% of all documented cases occur in 12% of the population over the age 65. About 50,000 women in the United States age 65 and older are diagnosed annually with breast cancer, making it one of the most serious health oroblems for women in this age ~ O U D I. t is the second leading causk of cancer deaths after lung cancer in women. While breast cancer is not preventable, the survival rate is near 100% if detected earlv. However. late staEe of diamosis remains a concern in this age groip. ~ ~ ~ r o x & n ai0t%e lo~f women with breast cancer present with metastases as the first indication of a malignancy. Early detection and screening offer the only solution to this dreaded situation. Society must find ways to make these practices available to the elderly.

Model Averaging for Prediction With Fragmentary Data

ABSTRACT

One main challenge for statistical prediction with data from multiple sources is that not all the associated covariate data are available for many sampled subjects. Consequently, we need new statistical methodology to handle this type of “fragmentary data” that has become more and more popular in recent years. In this article, we propose a novel method based on the frequentist model averaging that fits some candidate models using all available covariate data. The weights in model averaging are selected by delete-one cross-validation based on the data from complete cases. The optimality of the selected weights is rigorously proved under some conditions. The finite sample performance of the proposed method is confirmed by simulation studies. An example for personal income prediction based on real data from a leading e-community of wealth management in China is also presented for illustration.     

Regression Modelling of Disease Risk in Relation to Point Sources

We describe a class of models for the investigation of possible raised risk of disease around putative sources of environmental pollution. An adaptation of the point process method suggested by Diggle and Rowlingson is presented, allowing the use of routinely available aggregated data and incorporating the more general distance–risk model suggested by Elliott and co-workers. An application to data on cancers of the stomach around municipal solid waste incinerators is presented.

重建阅读文化

周宪指出,在视觉文化的蓬勃发展进程中,似乎有一场不见硝烟的"战争",那便是图像对文字的"征服"。我们应该关注视觉文化强势所造成的阅读文化困境,并采取相应的策略和立场,重建阅读文化,培育阅读文化。金元浦指出,新世纪的视觉文化转向是在当代高新科技的基础上发生的人类划时代的媒介革命的表征,具有建构的后现代性。当代视觉文化遇到的最具前设性的问题是语言文字与图像的关系问题。倪伟指出,视觉文化的核心是探讨与"看"的实践相关的种种问题。"看"的方式根本就是社会和文化建构的产物。视觉文化研究应抓住中国的现代性经验不放,在融会各种进步思想的基础上,突入深广的社会历史领域,展开批判性的清理和重建工作。曾军指出,20世纪西方文化理论思潮为观看研究提供了意向主义、构成主义和"现实主义"三种路径,但各有研究的困境:意向主义思路对理想观看的描述性分析的有效性值得怀疑;构成主义思路最大的问题在于对"主体"的有意忽略;而在"现实主义"思路中,无论是批判理论还是视听统计,关注的其实都是将观者定位为被动性的前提之上的"受众"研究。     

Multisystemic therapy project in Sweden: what factors affect the tendency of social workers to refer subjects to the research project?

This article examines some of the factors that may have affected the tendency for social workers to refer adolescents to a randomised controlled study of multisystemic therapy (MST). If we are to improve integration between researchers and the clinical setting in the future, it is important to consider those factors that affect implementation of research projects and evidence-based treatment methods. Evidence-based methods that lack the support of clinicians will have problems surviving in clinical practice. In the present study, we found that social workers' treatment ideology was associated with referral rate. Social workers who sympathised with the ideology on which MST is based referred patients to the project to a greater extent. Moreover, we found that the perception of a good work climate and good social support correlated positively with the referral rate from the unit. The results suggest that when implementing evidence-based methods, or research projects on treatment methods, researchers should consider whether the method is consistent with the current treatment ideology within the unit. Working conditions in the unit should also be considered.
