The Launch of Banking Instruments and the Figuration of Markets. The Case of the Polish Car-Trading Industry

The paper aims at analyzing the production of creditworthiness within the context of commercial banking in international banks. Taking the interim financing in the Polish automobile sector as an example, the paper reconstructs the process between legal framing of the financial instrument, marketing, and risk management. Firstly, it shows that changes in the state vehicle registry function as a prerequisite upon which the bank uses the newly introduced vehicle registration document as a security. Secondly, it analyzes the change of perspectives which takes place between the marketing of the product (Corporate Banking) and the analysis of documents (Risk Management). Thirdly, it argues that creditworthiness cannot be deduced from the economic representation of the enterprise but is the very result of negotiations between the actors involved.

Change Point Detection in The Skew-Normal Model Parameters

Bayesian inference under the skew-normal family of distributions is discussed using an arbitrary proper prior for the skewness parameter. In particular, we review some results when a skew-normal prior distribution is considered. Considering this particular prior, we provide a stochastic representation of the posterior of the skewness parameter. Moreover, we obtain analytical expressions for the posterior mean and variance of the skewness parameter. The ultimate goal is to consider these results to one change point identification in the parameters of the location-scale skew-normal model. Some Latin American emerging market datasets are used to illustrate the methodology developed in this work.     

Solving the Stochastic Growth Model by Linear-Quadratic Approximation and by Value-Function Iteration

This article describes three approximation methods I used to solve the growth model (Model 1) studied by the National Bureau of Economic Research's nonlinear rational-expectations-modeling group project, the results of which were summarized by Taylor and Uhlig (1990). The methods involve computing exact solutions to models that approximate Model 1 in different ways. The first two methods approximate Model 1 about its nonstochastic steady state. The third method works with a version of the model in which the state space has been discretized. A value function iteration method is used to solve that model.     

Characterization of information matrices for balanced two-level fractional factorial designs of odd resolution derived from two-symbol simple arrays

We consider a balanced fractional 2^m factorial design of resolution 2?+1 which permits estimation of all factorial effects up through ?-factor interactions under the situation in which all (?+1)-factor and higher order interactions are to be negligible for an integer satisfying [m/2]<lE;?m, where [x] denotes the greatest integer not exceeding x. This paper investigates algebraic structure of the information matrix of such a design derived from a simple array through that of an atomic array. We obtain an explicit expression for the irreducible matrix representation based on the above design and its algebraic properties. The results in this paper will be useful to characterize the designs under consideration.
