CHARISMA,CANNABIS, AND THE CROSSING OF AFRICA

This essay, based on a chapter from a forthcoming study of the exploration of Central Africa, tells the story of the encounter between the German travelers Paul Pogge and Hermann Wissmann and a charismatic extatic cult or movement, the 'Children of Hemp.' With the aid of the movement Wissmann accomplished the first documented crossing of the continent (from West to East). Eventually he was also material in drawing the leaders of what was essentially a modernization movement into the organization of what became the Congo Free State. A tale of trust and friendship betrayed and chances missed, of exploration turning into occupation, and of grave consequences for the Congo up to the present.     

探索大学课堂教学的有效性

纪实文学革命论

20世纪80年代以来,中国文学理论界对纪实文学已有所研究,但是,其研究还是肤浅的、片面的,至今没有人从当下读者最喜爱,社会影响最大,以《知音》、《家庭》和《华西都市报》、《南方周末》等为代表的"特稿"身上发现纪实文学的累累硕果,没有人把史记学与当代纪实文学联系起来加以研究,也没有人从当代文学体裁分类角度探寻纪实文学的价值,更没有人将纪实类文学提高到与虚构类文学(即"纯文学")同宗同源、平起平坐的地位,从而得出在21世纪,在市场经济条件下,纪实文学取代虚构文学、中国文坛将全面进入纪实文学时代的科学论断.

道德教育制度供给不足及其路径选择

现代社会的道德教育是在一定的制度环境中展开、充盈并得以发展。追求道德自主,实现道德自由,离不开有效的制度供给。制度供给的功利化、残缺化、单向化与形式化,弱化了制度之于道德教育的保障与促进之效,降低了道德教育的质量与水准。依据道德及道德教育的内在需求,加强必要的制度供给,设计合理的制度并规范制度的运行,已成为现代道德教育持续发展无法回避且意义重大的课题。     

试论当代维吾尔新潮小说的若干特征

20世纪80年代中后期,在维吾尔小说创作领域出现了具有不同于传统的现实主义小说的新潮小说。非理性因素成为了新潮小说重要的叙事话语。非英雄化是新潮小说作品区别于传统的现实主义小说作品的重要特征之一。叙述技巧上的大胆尝试,淡化情节或无情节化,运用意识流、象征、怪诞、神秘与魔幻等新的表现手法,可以说是新潮作家自觉的形式探索的突出表现。     

基于创新类型与关系资本积累周期的企业关系组合模型

现有的采购关系组合模型主要以传统交易环境为基础,不能很好地解释战略联盟、虚拟组织等新的企业间合作关系。从所支持的创新类型可以将企业外部关系划分为支持突破性技术创新的探索式关系与支持渐进性创新的利用式关系;关系资本积累周期的长短影响着企业的关系构建时机。基于上述两个维度,对企业外部关系进行了分类,探讨不同类型关系适合的环境,企业的关系构建行为,以及不同类型关系之间的转化。从而为企业外部关系组合的构建与优化提供指导。     

中外合作办学评估探讨

根据2003年国务院颁布的《中华人民共和国中外合作办学条例》要求,当地人民政府教育行政部门通过年检的方式对中外合作办学机构的办学水平和教育质量进行评估、并将评估结果向社会公布。本文拟将中外合作办学机构的办学水平和教育质量评估的有关问题作如下探讨。     

Exploitation Strategy and Performance of Contract Manufacturing Exporters: The Mediating Roles of Exploration Strategy and Marketing Capability

Contract manufacturing exporters (CMEs) receive a meagre share of global value chain returns, primarily because of the mundane and exploitative nature of the activities they perform in their dependency relationships with lead firms. We posit that CMEs can enhance their performance by capitalizing on their exploitation strategy. Exploitation strategy triggers exploration strategy which requires building marketing capabilities for enhanced performance. Based on data from 154 Vietnamese CMEs, we find significant indirect only mediation effects of: 1) exploration strategy between exploitation strategy and export performance; and 2) marketing capability between exploration strategy and export performance. Further, we find significant indirect only serial mediation of exploration strategy and marketing capability between exploitation strategy and export performance. The findings are also supported and contextualized based on illustrative quotes from face to face semi-structured interviews with senior managers of 10 Vietnamese CMEs. The findings suggest that CMEs' that consciously capitalize on the exploitation strategy by seeking exploration opportunities while building their marketing capability exhibit enhanced performance.
