Asset poverty and happiness in urban China

Individual and social are the two foci of the mission of change that drives the social work profession. This dual-focus provides not only a cultural mechanism by which the profession can negotiate its professional boundaries but the flexibility for the profession to adjust its focus when its social assignment changes. However, the uncritical pursuit of a full-fledged professional status within a neoliberal ideology is upsetting the balance of these two foci and may weaken the long term adaptability of the profession.

近年来,由于审计失败,我国已有多家会计师事务所及相关注册会计师受到了政府有关部门的处罚,原"五大"会计师事务所也正不同程度地承受着审计失败案的拖累,审计失败问题已经成为国内外审计界密切关注的一个热点问题。通过分析审计失败的原因,提出规避和减少审计失败的相关措施,以期对正确认定审计责任和有效防范审计失败起到一定的指导作用。     

略论高校德育教学中大学生职业道德素质的培养

大学教育的专业化特点,决定了加强职业道德教育的必要性。高校德育教学有利于大学生建立正确的人生观,使之在职业生涯中摆正个人与社会的关系,帮助学生充分认识德性修养乃是立身之本,是形成良好职业道德素质的坚实基础。要加强德育教学的针对性,德育教师要重视自身的师德建设,掌握必要的方式方法,从而推动大学生职业道德素质不断提高。     

The Practical Realities of Implementing Progressive Social Work: A Case Example in Parenting Education

What actually happens when an agency sets out to implement progressive social work by shifting power and decision making from agency personnel to people with particular needs? Both staff and participants are thrust into roles different from those they occupy in traditional settings. Interpersonal dynamics change. New ways of making decisions evolve. Tensions arise as new ways of doing things and relating replace usual practices. This article explores what happened when an agency set out to implement progressive social work in the context of developing and implementing a parent education program in which parents designed and taught a parenting program. Results explore decision-making processes, group dynamics, inclusion, team building, program administration, and the impact of participation. Seven lessons learned are described.     

Personal and Professional Knowledge of and Experience With Suicide and Suicide Prevention Among Stakeholders in Clinical and Community Practice

Community-dwelling veterans at risk for suicide may be in contact with a variety of providers in agency-based settings that offer health and human services. The study aim is to describe the perspective of agency-based clinical and community providers who may come into contact with veterans in need of suicide prevention services and to examine the nature of their personal and professional relationships to individuals at risk for suicide among this sample.

This study reports on qualitative data from a sample of Veterans’ Affairs (VA) and community providers serving veterans and military families in one Midwestern state (N = 70). Providers completed a survey assessing exposure to suicide, including contact with and relationship to someone suicidal, and organizational characteristics of the providers’ employing agencies. Semi-structured interview questions probed for the nature of how they would react with suicidal individuals. Most providers (94%) had some prior contact with someone who was suicidal, and nearly three quarters (77%) knew someone who had died by suicide. Providers reported powerful emotional responses of sadness and remorse to suicidal experiences. While these providers interact with veterans and military families as part of their jobs, they may have their own history of being exposed to suicide, both professionally and personally.

本研究旨在提高管理处主任队伍绩效考核的针对性和合理性,规范物业管理处主任基本技能及要求,对国内物业管理行业岗位技能标准体系设计有一定的意义。采用文献综述法、访谈法和问卷调查法等方法进行研究。以心理契约ERA循环管理理论为指导,确立了职业操守和工作技能两个指标体系,并分别对每一指标体系内容及评价标准进行了界定。     

Professions in periods of social change: the case of architectural discourse and design

This article examines how professions behave in periods of social change. The article considers whether professions take positions vis-à-vis broader social discourse, and explores the relationship between the professions’ positions and those of the government. The article examines these questions through the case of the Israeli architectural profession’s behavior after the 1967 war in both the newly occupied territories, over which Israeli control is under dispute among Israeli Jews, as well as the pre-1967 areas, in which Israeli sovereignty enjoys a consensus among Israeli Jews. The article traces both design and construction activities, as well as the discourse that followed in their wake. The article’s conclusion is that changes in professional discourse are a way to understand the profession’s position regarding a given set of social changes. We argue that the transition from an inward-facing professional discourse to an outward-facing professional discourse that addresses the larger society is both an indication of that profession’s condition as well as the condition of the social group to which it belongs.     

Discretionary approaches to social workers’ personalisation of activation services for long-term welfare recipients

Contemporary social policies emphasise labour market inclusion of vulnerable groups through personalisation of activation services. This article investigates social workers’ decision-making when personalising activation measures to suit each client. Data consist of case files for 16 clients participating in a Norwegian activation scheme, and interviews with the clients’ designated social workers. Using Bakhtin’s theory of dialogism, the article examines what the social workers consider in their decision-making process and the pivotal factors in their conclusions. Findings show that social workers employ two distinct approaches to personalisation, which have significantly different implications for clients’ pathways towards labour market inclusion. The first approach concentrates on clients’ personal challenges, while the second focuses on feasible short-term employment strategies. The study demonstrates how institutional and political frameworks may lead to social workers’ posing activation requirements inconsistent with clients’ needs and capabilities. It suggests further research into these interrelations to improve social workers’ ability to adapt services to individual clients.     

What Options Do We Have? Exploring Routes for Social Workers` Policy Engagement

For social workers, engagement in policy processes aimed at furthering social justice is a professional obligation. Nonetheless, the literature on social workers’ policy engagement has yet to clearly explicate the range of options open to social workers seeking to realize this obligation. This article discusses six policy routes through which social workers in democratic societies can affect the policy process: voluntary political participation, holding elected office, policy practice, policy involvement by and through professional organizations, academic policy involvement, and street-level policy involvement. This conceptualization of policy routes can serve as map of options for social workers and as a heuristic tool for students.

“融合教育”背景下学前特教专业人才表现出复合型和实践型两大特征。针对“融合教育”背景下学前特教专业人才特征,我院学前特教专业积极深化人才培养改革工作,通过构建“三模块结合”专业课程体系,实施“三课堂结合”一体化育人,实施“三方结合”共建实践平台等实践探索,较好地解决了学生知识技能结构不完善、学生专业思想不稳定、专业技能薄弱及实践能力不强等问题,改革实践取得较好效果,专业人才培养质量明显提升。
