语料库量化分析发现,People’s Daily Online外宣新闻体裁具有强历时稳定性,具体表现为标题结构模式化,信息来源机构身份强化,事件描述宏观化、数据化,事件评论主观化等特点,倾向于构建强势传者,而受众则相对弱势。这种关系造成两种效应:一是在资源高度集中的信息传播中,双方关系虽不平等,但仍处于平衡状态,传播效度较强。但外宣受众参与不足会造成其对信息的相关性感受减弱,对此,可通过增加阅读引导性元素、事件描述的个体性事例、事件评论的社会性引语等策略提升传播效度。二是在资源开放程度较高的信息传播中,双方关系既不平等,也不平衡,传播效度较弱。对此,需通过弱化传者的机构身份、为受众提供发声和交流途径等策略满足受众对平等关系的诉求。 相似文献

This annotated bibliography on undergraduate research presents seventeen publications from serials in the library literature covering 1980 to June 2006. These publications are significant contributions from prominent authors that converge at a growing body of library literature on undergraduate research. With a focus on research behaviors, the annotated bibliography has four dimensions: a theoretical framework, main findings of undergraduate research behaviors, relations between faculty and undergraduate research, and a flip side of undergraduate behaviors. We propose a monitoring procedure to test for the constancy of the correlation coefficient of a sequence of random variables. The idea of the method is that a historical sample is available and the goal is to monitor for changes in the correlation as new data become available. We introduce a detector which is based on the first hitting time of a CUSUM-type statistic over a suitably constructed threshold function. We derive the asymptotic distribution of the detector and show that the procedure detects a change with probability approaching unity as the length of the historical period increases. The method is illustrated by Monte Carlo experiments and the analysis of a real application with the log-returns of the Standard & Poor's 500 (S&P 500) and IBM stock assets. 相似文献

In response to a climate of austerity, disability has been keyed to a meta-narrative that has a political purpose, to justify extensive welfare cuts by positioning disability as a drain on so-called ‘hard-working taxpayers’. This paper explores how this meta-narrative is articulated on the online bulletin board, Reddit, to show how disablist hate speech may emerge as an attempt to secure one’s sense of self during austere times. A critical discourse analysis (CDA) is employed to reveal these instances and highlights the normalisation of disablist hate speech within the wider context of welfare dependency. Based on these findings, this paper makes recommendations for future research and makes a call for policy change. 相似文献

Previous research on youths’ experiences with online strangers has mostly utilized quantitative designs which may result in the omission of important parts of the youths’ experiences and perceptions. In this qualitative study, we adopt a child-centred approach and focus on the children’s and adolescents’ experiences with unknown people from the Internet. This is one of the most pronounced parental concerns, despite the fact that an online presence is now normative for most children. We use the data from focus-groups and individual interviews in nine European countries (N?=?368) conducted with youths between the ages of 9 and 16 years. Participants were asked about their perceptions of potentially negative or problematic situations while using the Internet and digital technology. Using thematic analysis, we classified youths’ experiences and reactions related to interacting with online strangers in four themes: (1) non-verbal interaction; (2) initiation of contact; (3) communication; and (4) face-to-face meeting. In all four levels of interactions, children and adolescents reported a variety of positive and negative experiences and reactions. We interpret our findings with a co-construction model which perceives children and adolescents as active participants in the online world. We conclude that children are successfully making active decisions to initiate, continue, and stop interactions with unknown people from the Internet. ABSTRACTDebate has arisen in social work about the value of online education, with proponents providing examples of innovative approaches to online teaching and those against it citing the need for face-to-face interactions to suitably teach and assess social work skills. At the same time, social workers are increasingly making use of social media, websites, online databases, email, and text messaging services for work with clients. Consequently, social workers must be adequately prepared to make use of online technologies in their practice. Drawing on examples of online interactive activities used at two regional universities and informed by Chi’s conceptual framework of cognitive processes of learning, this article argues that learning via information and communications technology (ICT) helps prepare graduates for emerging digital practice and should be an integral part of social work education. Further, ICT enables educators to monitor the levels and quality of student rehearsal of practice skills and knowledge in interactive learning experiences helping promote competent practice, grounded in social work values. 相似文献

Distance learning can be useful for bridging geographical barriers to education in rural settings. However, empirical evidence on the equivalence of distance education and traditional face-to-face (F2F) instruction in statistics and biostatistics is mixed. Despite the difficulty in randomization, we minimized intra-instructor variation between F2F and online sections in seven graduate-level biostatistics service courses in a synchronous (live, real time) fashion; that is, for each course taught in a traditional F2F setting, a separate set of students were taught simultaneously via online learning technology, allowing for two-way interaction between instructor and students. Our primary objective was to compare student performance in the two courses that use these two teaching modes. We used a Bayesian hierarchical model to test equivalence of modes. The frequentist mixed model approach was also conducted for reference. The results of Bayesian and frequentist methods agree and suggest a difference of less than 1% in average final grades. Finally, we discuss barriers to instruction and learning using the applied online teaching technology. 相似文献

There is a rapidly growing industry of online learning and distance education programs at the Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Social Work levels both within Australia and globally. A number of best practices have emerged from the literature that warrant consideration when delivering social work programs in online learning and distance education modes. Given the significant advancements in technology that are likely to continue into the next decades, social work academic leaders and accrediting bodies must be prepared to address the changing landscape of higher education, including limited financial resources. Social work academics need to become aware and implement best practices in online learning and distance education e-teaching environments to ensure positive student outcomes, student retention, and student engagement to meet the flexibility needs of students in higher education settings. The purpose of this paper is to identify and discuss the challenges and benefits of distance education and online learning for consideration when providing a social work program in these delivery models.
IMPLICATIONS
Given the significant advancements in technology that are likely to continue into the next decades, social work academic leaders and accrediting bodies must be prepared to address the changing landscape of higher education.
Social work academics need to become aware and implement best practices in the distance education and online teaching environment to ensure positive student outcomes, student retention, and student engagement to meet the flexibility needs of students in higher education settings.
