Narrating Significant Experience: Reflective Accounts and the Production of (Self) Knowledge

Notwithstanding the rise of evidence-based practice, other tendencieswithin social work scholarship are also discernible. One ofthese is the study of the everyday, routine accomplishment ofpractice, drawing on microsociological methods and techniques.In this article, I apply techniques drawn from narrative anddiscourse analysis to the study of reflective practice accounts,which hold an important place in social work education. In particular,it is relevant to examine the form that reflective accountstake and the rhetorical and narrative devices deployed withinthem to accomplish a competent professional identity. My argumentis not that such accounts of practice are untruthful, ratherI propose that we would do well to move beyond taking texts(and talk) for granted and treating language as merely the mediumfor expressing inner thoughts and feelings. Social work shouldtake seriously the need to explore its modes of representationand to cultivate a more self-conscious approach to the way professionaland client identities are produced in practice.

Race and Population Change: A Longitudinal Look at Cleveland Neighborhoods

This paper investigates the relationship of racial composition to neighborhood population change from 1910 to 1990 in the Cleveland metropolitan area. To better understand the long-term dynamics of urban neighborhood change, we focus our analysis upon the longitudinal relationship of race, socioeconomic status, and life cycle stage to changes in neighborhood population densities. First, we find that the more established neighborhoods of the African-American community have experienced dramatic declines in population since 1950, a pattern that represents a clear change from the earlier part of the twentieth century. Second, population loss is experienced through a variety of mechanisms, including the demolition of dwellings, the increase in housing vacancy, and the decline of household size. Third, much of this population loss should be interpreted within the context of high economic distress, occurring most frequently in older African-American communities. Over time, economic distress appears to be more important than race in and of itself in leading to the loss of neighborhood populations.     

Towards a Cultural Analysis of the Modern Family: Beyond the Revisionist Paradigm in Japanese Family Studies

Under the influence of the "new history of the family" of the past few decades, a revisionist view of the "modern family" has emerged among family theorists in Japan. In spite of the significant merits of this new paradigm, I have argued that the failure of its proponents to address certain theoretical and presuppositional issues has discouraged a cultural analysis of the modern family. In recent years, one of the foremost theorists to attempt to bring cultural analysis fully into sociological discourse has been Jeffrey Alexander. I have drawn extensively on Alexander's discussion of Durkheim's later thought as the key to a cultural program in the field of sociology. In doing so, I have suggested that one effect of the transition to modern society is the sacralization of what Durkheim termed the "domestic order". Furthermore, in considering the mechanism by which the central emotional axis of the family comes to revolve around either the parent–child bond or the conjugal bond, I have postulated the existence of a "sacred" dyad—in the Durkheimian sense—within the family unit.     

失业者再就业行为差异分析

笔者通过对东北老工业城市--长春市失业人员进行实地调查,运用均值分析、因子分析等方法,对失业者再就业行为的差异进行辨别,发现对有再就业意愿的失业者而言,搜寻工作的思想观念与方式、失业期间的活动能力、失业者的心态、当地公共就业服务质量都是导致失业者再就业行为产生差异的主要因素.由此笔者分析了影响失业者再就业行为的内在机制,探讨激励失业者积极再就业的措施,以期为完善我国公共就业服务体系提供政策建议.     

《史记》“互见法”再论

<史记>叙事首创"互见法",取得了很高的艺术成就.然而,今人在嘉许<史记>"互见法"首创价值的时候,对部分互见文字的真伪要谨慎,还应看到<史记>"互见法"体系并不完备,<史记>"互见法"的运用还不很自觉,特别是"互见法"对于今人还原<史记>"一家之言"的哲学真相有很大的干扰.     

系统功能语篇分析实证研究——以主位结构为例

运用Halliday系统功能语法的观点和方法,主要探讨了语篇功能赖以实现的主位系统,分析主位结构和主位推进程序在实现语篇的衔接和连贯中的作用、所具有的文体功能以及主位的选择和使用表达说话者的不同目的的关系。     

A qualitative comparative analysis of strategies for an ageing society, with special reference to pension and employment policies

The primary purpose of this study is to typify the respondent strategies of the OECD countries based on the interconnected structure of income and employment guarantees. More specifically, this article seeks to typify welfare policies into four types (welfare-to-work, welfare emphasis, labour emphasis, market emphasis) based on the leniency of the pension system and active state intervention in employment security. With the resultant four types, this article then places them as the dependent variable while incorporating per capita GDP, aged dependency ratio, pension maturity level, union density, constitutional structure index and degree of decommodification as causal variables. Through this process, this article aims to derive the decisive variable for each type through qualitative comparative analysis.     

Gay Affirmative Practice: A Model for Social Work Practice with Gay,Lesbian, and Bisexual Youth

Gay affirmative practice has recently been introduced into the social work literature as a culturally sensitive model for working with gay, lesbian, and bisexual (GLB) adults, however, this model has rarely been applied to practice with GLB youth. In this article, the authors review the literature to present the main tenets of gay affirmative practice, outline the challenges that GLB youth face, and delineate the environmental and individual strengths that can be enhanced to promote well-being. The authors then apply the gay affirmative practice model to GLB youth, offering concrete information about the specific knowledge, attitudes, and skills that social workers should acquire to better serve the unique, yet diverse, needs of GLB youth.     

电弧炉电极系统双模控制策略研究及应用

针对交流电弧炉电极控制系统具有非线性时变、多变量、强耦合及存在随机干扰的特点,采用基于最近邻聚类方法的径向基函数(RBF)神经网络快速学习算法,通过实时在线辨识,建立电弧炉电极系统的精确逆模型并用于控制,实现了将具有强耦合特性的多变量输入/输出(MIMO)系统解耦成单个独立的伪线性对象,并提出一种基于RBF神经网络逆控制与比例微分(P/D)控制相结合的双模控制策略。应用结果证实了该控制策略具有快速适应对象和过程变化的能力及较强的鲁棒性。
