The behavior of the battered child: A behavioral deficiency syndrome resulting from developmental interferences and reactive learning

Behavioral observation of battered children reveals a generalized syndrome consisting of apathy, social isolation, emotional constriction, aggression, and intellectual, motor and language retardation. This syndrome is considered to be a ‘behavioral deficiency syndrome.’ Developmental interference imposed by abusive parents upon the child, and subsequent reactive learning by the child are discussed as etiological factors in the development of this syndrome. Implication of these etiological factors for therapy of the abusive family are also discussed.

Estimation of an exponential quantile under pitman's measure of closeness

We consider the problem of estimating a quantile of an exponential distribution with unknown location and scale parameters under Pitman's measure of closeness (PMC). The loss function is required to satisfy some mild conditions but is otherwise arbitrary. An optimal estimator is obtained in the class of location-scale-equivariant estimators, and its admissibility in the sense of PMC is investigated.     

On the distribution of quadratic forms in normal random variables

This paper provides necessary and sufficient conditions for a quadratic form in singular normal random variables to be distributed as a given linear combination of independent noncentral chi-square variables. Using this result, an extension of Cochran's theorem to quadratic forms of noncentral chi-square variables is derived.     

论《幽兰草》的创作、结集时间以及价值定位

明刻本《幽兰草》标志着云间词派的确立,是研究该词派早期创作和理论主张的第一手资料,具有极高的文献价值.从"云间三子"的交往活动和文本两方面来考察,《幽兰草》的大致创作时间是在明崇祯七年至十年之间,约结集于崇祯十年."云间三子"创作《幽兰草》时,在词学观上有着某种共识,并自觉地用相对统一的标准去实践这种共识.从题材、语象的选择,到以小令为主的体式运用,以及蕴涵于作品中的内在情思和意蕴,都体现了"云间三子"对南唐、北宋婉约词派的认同和回归,其矫正明词异化的作用是显而易见的,它是结束明词颓势、使词重新回到本体轨道上来的一个闪亮起点.     

"滇池"本在成都平原考

自来学界认为上古时期的"滇池"一直就在今云南高原,由此导致西南上古历史中很多问题无从解决.本文通过搜集、分析现代技术资料和历史文献资料,认为战国后期以前的"滇池"必是在今成都平原.只是由于战国后期蜀部族人的南迁,"滇池"之名才被带到今云南高原上.此结论的取得,可以使西南上古历史、地理、民族等方面的诸多谜题获得科学而合理的答案.     

川东师范学堂与西南师范学院的组建

为实施新学制,培养师资,光绪三十二年(1906年)重庆创办了第一所正规的师范学校--官立川东师范学堂.民国建立后,该学堂改名为川东师范学校.1932年,该校设立乡村师范专修科.次年,专修科迁至沙坪坝磁器口,并先后改名为乡村建设学院、四川省立教育学院.1950年,四川省立教育学院与1940年创办的国立女子师范学院合并组建西南师范学院.1985年,西南师范学院更名为西南师范大学.
