The complex attribution process of CSR motives

This study examines how consumers reconcile two possibly contradictory motives (public-serving and firm-serving) to the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives of companies in socially stigmatized industries. Our results indicate that consumers are willing to accept and give reputational credit for firm-serving motives behind the companies’ CSR initiatives, as long as they also perceive that the companies are sincere in serving public interests (i.e., high public-serving motives). Consumers highly engaged in social causes are also willing to accept firm-serving motives when they also perceive sincere public-serving motives behind the companies’ CSR activities.     

Confucian philosophy and influence on perceived values and behavioural orientations by Taiwan’s millennials

This study examines the millennials’ perceptions of Confucianism and their influence on their personal values and behavioural orientations with a sample from Taiwan to address the research gap in intergenerational and intercultural human resource development (HRD) research. It complements results from western research and offers important insights to worldwide managers and HRD practitioners for talent development and learning-related initiatives when working with employees and organizations with East Asia backgrounds. The concept of Confucius’ process of developing into a virtuous person seems to be rooted in the Taiwanese millennials’ mind, who as guided by Confucius tend to have a primary focus on accumulating knowledge, practicing moral behaviour, and correcting one’s mind and behaviour. Along with the globalization and technology advancement, the sampled millennials hold a strong traditional values of Confucian philosophy; yet, such strong cultural values may be attenuated a great deal after exposing to western culture over times. The Confucian virtue (moral) behaviour practice, harmonious relations, and self-cultivation are found as top three factors of Confucian values. Implications for HRD practices and recommendations for future research are discussed.

从邮政业务(储金、划拨、汇总)、简易人寿保险、代理业务和邮政资金的运用四个方面介绍了我国台湾地区的邮政金融营运概况,重点分析了台湾地区进行邮政金融公司化改革的举措,即修订规章、调整组织结构、改革人事制度、创办新种业务,最后阐述了台湾地区邮政金融改革对大陆地区邮政储蓄银行的启示,即建立健全邮政储蓄的法律体系、加强资金的自主运用、积极创新和开发新业务、提高管理效率等.     

Affective rearticulations: cultural studies in and from Taiwan

ABSTRACT

This essay introduces the peculiar state of cultural studies from Taiwan by reflecting on its moments of emergence and the projects it strives to accomplish with recent updates. While it is inevitable that a survey of this nature is doomed to be cursory and selective, it hopes to delineate and address the predicaments of cultural studies in and from Taiwan and the struggles therein, as it strives not only to get its voices heard, but also to chart a critical path towards the decolonization of our consciousness.     

管窥台湾视觉传达设计的现代性转换——从概念与理念的角度

战后台湾设计是中国现代艺术设计史的重要组成部分,以设计艺术学内沉式的概念流变、图像视觉语言分析、视觉传达教育理念变革为内容,探讨和梳理了台湾视觉传达艺术设计由传统的“工艺”、“图案”诸概念逐步迈向现代设计的历史脉络。分别从日据时代“侵略的现代性”、美援时代“西化的现代性”、视觉传达设计教育与设计实务中的现代性进程三个方面探讨了台湾艺术设计现代性的另类表述。
