Home sweet home? Home physical environment and inflammation in children

The home environment includes important social and physical contexts within which children develop. Poor physical home environments may be a potential source of stress for children through difficult daily experiences. Using a sub-sample from the Los Angeles Family and Neighborhood Survey (N = 425), we consider how the home physical environment affects stress-related immune system dysregulation in children ages 3–18 years. Results indicated that children in poorer quality homes had higher inflammation (measured by C-reactive protein). The associations were particularly strong for younger children. We also found that part of the home physical environment association with CRP worked through increased risk of obesity for children living in low-quality homes. Future research should assess how home physical environments could be improved to reduce stress and improve health outcomes in children.

鲁迅搜辑考订大量材料,为《中国小说史略》奠定深厚根基,但由于《古小说钩沉》、《唐宋传奇集》、《小说旧闻钞》的差异,导致《史略》内容上的不平衡性。因个人偏见造成对某些材料的排斥和忽略,则是严重的问题。     

光学实验中光电接收与微机显示研究

介绍了以CCD为光电接收器件,经模数（A/D）转换与微型计算机结合,把光学实验中一些细微和不明显的光学现象改变为直观的、可连续变化的图像在荧屏显示和测量的实验方法,认为这种实验方法较之传统的光学实验法更具先进性和优越性,且有利于多媒体的教学。     

Comparing measures of homicide trends: Methodological and substantive differences in the Vital Statistics and Uniform Crime Report time series (1933–1975)

Several Uniform Crime Reports (FBI) and Vital Statistics (NCHS) homicide time series for the United States, 1933–1975, are compared with respect to (a) definitions and collection procedures used; (b) differences in estimating procedures; and (c) substantive differences that result from use of either series. Among the findings from this investigation are that: (1) the sampling procedures employed by the NCHS appear to be superior to those of the FBI; (2) the FBI time series most commonly employed by researchers is discontinuous prior to 1958 due to revision procedures which were instituted at that time. Analyses over time periods which began prior to this year should employ a more accurate FBI time series which is published by the Office of Management and Budget (1973). (3) The specific time period under study may lead to different substantive conclusions with different indicators; (4) the results of statistical analyses of structural equation models contained herein indicate that while the difference is not generally statistically significant, the deterrent effect of execution is consistently estimated to be greater with the Vital Statistics series. This finding has important policy implications if estimates of the number of lives saved by executing prisoners are projected and utilized by policy makers. (5) Neither series indicates serious problems of autocorrelation of disturbances with the exogenous variables employed here; and (6) use of either series for the period after 1949 appears to produce the same substantive results.     

丁韪良主持翻译《公法会通》新探

《公法会通》是继《万国公法》、《星轺指掌》与《公法便览》之后,丁韪良主持翻译的第四部重要的国际法译作,虽然在承认领事裁判权与不平等条约等方面具有消极内容,但总的来讲,该书详尽地阐述了进步的国家平等、人人平等的国际公法思想和人权思想,对若干国际公法领域的叙述比较详细,观点比较公正,至今仍具有一定的借鉴作用;该书使用的一些政治、外交与法律新名词,逐渐被中国知识界、法律界所接受,有的沿用至今;在文字表达和体例上,该书也是丁韪良主持翻译的最好的国际公法译作。总之,该书对晚清外交界及知识界进一步了解国际法,并运用国际法从事劣势条件下的外交,起到了一定的促进、启蒙和推动作用。     

单片机在行星挤出机温控系统中的应用

为了改造行星挤出机的温度控制系统,本方案利用温度传感器PT进行温度采集,将采集到的模拟信号通过单片机SPCE061A集成的A/D转化为数字信号,数据处理方面采用16次平滑滤波,控制方面采用数字PID控制,设计出油温控制系统.文中介绍了油温控制系统的控制原理,给出了系统硬件设计框图、主要硬件电路的设计、软件设计的流程图.该设计方案对行星挤出机的油温控制精度高,完全满足设计的要求.     

大股东代理问题与IPO募集资金的使用

本文在单一股东价值模型的基础上,引入第一大股东的代理行为,并对IPO募集资金使用情况的影响因素进行理论分析,进而提出研究假说。用中国股市A股IPO数据对假说进行检验,发现IPO募集资金的使用受到第一大股东代理行为的影响,第一大股东政治级别越高和财务杠杆越小的上市公司的募集资金投入程度显著越低。IPO募集资金的使用也受到股东价值驱动因素的影响,上市后三年平均营业利润率越高的公司,IPO募集资金投入程度显著越高。     

论《狂人日记》的时间形式与现代性意义

鲁迅的《狂人日记》是一篇关于时间的文化寓言,时间与空间的交互式结构使文本获得一种立体的横向延伸和纵向衍射的时间形式意义,以“现在时间”为核心,“过去时间”、“将来时间”为参照的时间场域与文本所生成的意义结构联系在一起,共同参与和介入个人时间的觉醒,这种主观时间的绽出与确信具有现代品质,其现代性意义是不容忽略的。     

基于语料库的山镇风俗文化英译研究——以戴乃迭《芙蓉镇》英译本为例

基于《芙蓉镇》汉英平行语料库,提取与山镇风俗文化相关的圩场、吊脚楼和民歌等意象,考察山镇风俗文化英译后的变化和原因。研究发现,原文中具有浓郁地域特征和时代特色的山镇风俗文化在译文中仅有部分保留,地方风俗的画面感和现实感被弱化,而由山镇风俗变化所折射出的时代特色和思想变迁也有所淡化。究其原因,主要是译者在翻译过程中考虑到目的语读者的文化背景、译者的文化身份以及中国文化走出去的需要。
