九十年华花甲红——研《红》60年回思简录

文章乃著名红学家周汝昌口述其研究《红楼梦》60年的历程、心得和体会,表明所谓红学四大分科的建立不是出于有意识的安排,更不是哗众取宠的巧立名目,而是学术研究本质的自然显现,是因势就势、顺理成章的结果。四大分科是彼此紧密相关的,总的目的都是为了揭示曹雪芹为何及如何创作《红楼梦》。重要内容包括胡适、顾随等先辈在周氏红学研究中所起的重要作用,周氏红学研究的轨迹和重要关节点,以及最近刚被翻译成英文在美国出版的《曹雪芹新传》的相关情况。     

苏雪林传略

苏雪林既是才华横溢的女作家,又是著作等身的知名学者,但因其对鲁迅的攻击和对胡适的崇拜,多年来并未得到正常的应有的评价。而自诩为“五四”人的苏雪林则由反叛礼教到回归传统的人生轨迹,留给我们太多的思考。     

Beer and Tea: Harmony and Contradiction Among Two Unlikely Counterparts

This essay begins by examining the representations and interpretations of women and men in two sets of images: the Women's Institute Alternative Calendar and a television commercial for Guinness beer. Both of these compositions are exceptional in their own right, and have captured the imaginations of wide audiences. Taken together, the counterpointing of culture and nature, serenity and intensity, and feminine charm and virility creates a montage of images that both reflect and represent traditional forms of femininity and masculinity. This essay draws on a variety of sociological and interdisciplinary theoretical approaches, with an emphasis on the storied nature of lives, sexuality, and life change. C. Wright Mills declares that the sociological imagination is necessary in order to grasp history and biography and the relations between the two within society (Mills, 1959, p. 6). The author's aim in this essay, following through on Mills's idea, is to provide insight into the lives of earlier cohorts of women and a glimpse into how personal and social change comes about.

Biographies of female coaches. Conscious and unconscious aspects of the career development The article presents the major results of a qualitative research project. It shows the conscious and unconscious dynamics of the family-background which influence the career development of adults. The authors also show how this background becomes a resource and gets professionalised in the new field of coaching. A theoretic and methodic part flanks this article.     

对传记文学写作的一点思考——兼评《新月下的夜莺——徐志摩传》

传记文学作为一种兼具历史性与文学性的文体,成为读者的新宠。本文认为,在传记中复活传主形象是传记文学写作的起码要求,并以《新月下的夜莺——徐志摩传》为例,对传记文学的写作提出了一些思考。     

Fate and Agency in Job Loss Narratives

While sociologists have emphasized the social sources of autobiographical narratives, there has been relatively little sociological reflection on the way that autobiographers themselves make selective use of accounts of social forces and pressures to explain their actions. This paper examines the way individuals' use of social pressures as explanations of their behavior are related to the structure of autobiographical narratives as a whole. The paper draws on empirical examples from interviews with people who are unemployed. Focusing on heroic and tragic narrative structures, I argue that the overall narrative structure is shaped by a number of factors, including the events of historical experience, the rhetorical intention of the autobiographer, and the structuring effects of social location.     

Masculinity and the Biographical Meanings of Management Theory: Lyndall Urwick and the Making of Scientific Management in Inter‐war Britain

This article explores the biographical shaping of management theory. Using the British management theorist Lyndall Urwick (1891–1983) as a case study, it argues that existing understandings of the history of management studies are limited by their lack of attention to the emotional a priori of theory production. For men such as Frederick Taylor or Urwick, the work of composing management theory for a public audience was intimately connected to events and experiences in the private life. Theorizing addressed emotional dilemmas even while it strove to construct a separation between the personal and the organizational. Management theories are not only historically, socially or discursively constructed, but can be read in terms of the evidence they provide about individual subjectivity. Psychoanalytic concepts can help illuminate such relations. Theorizing can be seen as a form of play: as something which, in D.W. Winnicott's terms, takes place in the space between the psychic reality of the ‘me’ and the external world of the ‘not me’. The ‘classical’ administrative theory represented by Taylor, Fayol and Urwick sought to create organizational structures which could stand apart from, and allow the management of, individual personalities. It simultaneously insisted on the status of theory as the ‘not me’; that is, as a product which was not shaped by personal experience, but which constituted objective knowledge. The illusion of theory as a largely external, social product persists in much management and organization studies today. This article challenges that social determinism, first, by showing how Urwick's theories addressed issues of separation and intimacy, and second, by placing Urwick's work in the context of his relations with women.     

网络历史类型小说创作的史传传统重建——以曹三公子的网络历史类型小说为例

新历史主义创作手法在中国传统的长篇历史小说创作中有着不同形式的呈现，但进入新世纪以来，其对历史文学创作的影响日渐式微。网络历史类型小说是网络文学中的传统文学。网络历史类型小说诞生后，曹三公子创作的网络历史类型小说开创了一种独特的创意性阐释史传的手法，一方面唤醒了中国当代历史小说创作的史传性特征，另一方面也为网络历史小说的类型化开启了新的一页。在具体创作中，以曹三公子为代表的网络历史类型小说，既有对传统史传小说的继承与发扬，也有对史传小说的合理改写。作为网络历史类型小说的起始文本之一，曹三公子创作的网络历史类型小说具有一定的网络文学史价值。     

山水图志与家国、社会角色及其关系的建构

历代关于地理风物的记载是对天地万物的空间关系的阐述,祖先发祥地或选址建寨的传说则是一种与土地建立神圣联系的行为,并以不可逆的生活经历为其磐石。从江山社稷、山水家园到男人如山女人似水,都以对自然法则的遵守、模拟为原则。数千年来两性顺应自然有了各自不同的位置。在轰隆隆来到的工业化中,我们迷茫于如何重新创建我们的家园,在新的天地里找寻到我们悠然其间的尊严与愉悦。     

《中州集》小传所载诗句篇什述略——兼论其文献价值

《中州集》是现存最早的一部金代诗词总集,是研究金代文学极为重要的文献之一。其编纂者为金代最伟大的史学家和文学家——元好问。其体例是既选录金代文人的诗词作品,又为所收录的每位作家都写有小传,而且小传的内容非常丰富,不仅有作家的姓名字号、籍贯里居、科第仕历、生平事迹等传记的基本要素,而且还引录了数量颇多的诗句篇什。这些诗句篇什题材广泛、内容丰富,体式多样、实用性强,形式各异、风格众多,数量既多、质量又高,可补《中州集》选诗不足之缺憾,既有很高的文献价值,又有极高的文学价值,可谓是＂着色屏风,回文锦字＂。
