不同艺术形式的互补与嫁接

不同的艺术形式,虽然各有自己的特点和风格,但它们之间可以互补,并且在可能的范围内适当嫁接。互补性、兼容性正体现了艺术之间的整合关系和嫁接组合的可能性。艺术嫁接方面的独创精神也往往在于把原先没有想到有关联的形式或艺术板块联系起来。在现代,以科技为手段,将不同艺术形式之间加以新组、嫁接、综合,不仅是为了艺术自身发展的需要,而且是为了适应市场竞争的需要。     

论孔子的“仁者爱人”

"仁者爱人"是孔子伦理学思想体系的核心命题之一.它既是氏族血亲之爱自然情感的遗留,又是维系社会人际关系的普遍存在的道德义务和责任.它强调个人对他人、对社会自觉地履行道德义务和责任,讲求"克己"的无私奉献精神.同时,"仁者爱人"是人的一种本性,"爱人"的内驱力来自于人自身,"爱人"的行为是此本性的外化.     

On the Optimality of Prediction-based Selection Criteria and the Convergence Rates of Estimators

Several estimators of squared prediction error have been suggested for use in model and bandwidth selection problems. Among these are cross-validation, generalized cross-validation and a number of related techniques based on the residual sum of squares. For many situations with squared error loss, e.g. nonparametric smoothing, these estimators have been shown to be asymptotically optimal in the sense that in large samples the estimator minimizing the selection criterion also minimizes squared error loss. However, cross-validation is known not to be asymptotically optimal for some `easy' location problems. We consider selection criteria based on estimators of squared prediction risk for choosing between location estimators. We show that criteria based on adjusted residual sum of squares are not asymptotically optimal for choosing between asymptotically normal location estimators that converge at rate n ^1/2but are when the rate of convergence is slower. We also show that leave-one-out cross-validation is not asymptotically optimal for choosing between √ n -differentiable statistics but leave- d -out cross-validation is optimal when d ∞ at the appropriate rate.

为什么是道德的？

一个人追求美德 ,是因为美德就其自身来说 ,虽然是对他的某些欲望和自由的压抑、侵犯 ,因而是一种害和恶 ;但就其结果和目的来说 ,却能够防止更大的害或恶和求得更大的利或善 ,因而是净余额为利的害 ,是必要的害 ,说到底 ,也就是一种真正的利 :美德乃是一个人利己的最根本、最重要的手段。把美德作为利己的最根本最重要的手段的人 ,逐渐地 ,便会因美德不断给他莫大利益而日趋爱好美德、欲求美德 ,从而便为了美德而求美德 ,使美德由手段变成目的。     

小议危险犯的特征

从我国新刑法中确认的危险犯条款中进行分析 ,得出了危险犯所具备的四个特征 :行为人主观上有危险之意图 ,即恶意危险、行为人必须已着手于危险行为之实行、行为人的危险行为未发生实害结果、危险犯具有法定性。     

Estimating means when sampling gives probabilities as well as values or “Looking a gift horse in the mouth”

Consider the random sampling of a discrete population. The observations, as they are collected one by one, are enhanced in that the probability mass associated with each observation is also observed. The goal is to estimate the population mean. Without this extra information about probability mass, the best general purpose estimator is the arithmetic average of the observations, XBAR. The issue is whether or not the extra information can be used to improve on XBAR. This paper examines the issues and offers four new estimators, each with its own strengths and liabilities. Some comparative performances of the four with XBAR are made.The motivating application is a Monte Carlo simulation that proceeds in two stages. The first stage independently samples n characteristics to obtain a configuration of some kind, together with a configuration probability p obtained, if desired, as a product of n individual probabilities. A relatively expensive calculation then determines an output X as a function of the configuration. A random sample of X could simply be averaged to estimate the mean output, but there are possibly more efficient estimators on account of the known configuration probabilities.

Abstract

Educators and researchers strive to use terms that reflect a replicable measure of behavior. A term commonly used to describe drinking of a problematic nature is binge drinking. Binge drinking defines behavior by a number of drinks of an alcoholic beverage consumed in a space of time. The authors argue that the term does not describe drinking behavior that students believe is problematic. They claim that students define problem drinking not in terms of quantity, but rather by the outcome (and occasionally by frequency), and attribute different negative connotations to the term binge. They suggest using a term that has shared meaning with students, such as dangerous drinking, to describe the drinking behavior that results in undesirable or unintended consequences.     

The Dangerous Real: Queer Solo Performance in/as Active Disruption

Abstract

Like all radical community endeavours, queer performance in the United States has been shaped through resistance to restrictive ideologies. National insecurity over ‘indecent’ (read: queer) artistic expression in the US has been aimed at artists working in a variety of genres, and here I focus specifically on queer solo performance artists. This essay explores the dangerous realities that queer artists present to an imagined unified US national identity. I argue that queer solo performers operate as artistic activists, challenging homogenous fantasies about US culture through the queering of experience. Aesthetically disparate, their work is connected by common threads of vulnerability and precarity. The article asks how their work disrupts U.S. insecurities concerning intersections of sexuality, gender identity, race and religion.
