Self-concept clarity: Exploring its role in consumer behavior

Even two decades later since Self-Concept Clarity (SCC) first emerged in the psychology literature, this important concept has escaped the attention of consumer psychologists. Distinguished in the psychology literature from the concept of self-esteem, our study examines the role of SCC in selected consumer behaviors. A survey of 301 consumers established that SCC contributes to consumers’ general satisfaction with life and its absence leads to such consumer behaviors as susceptibility to interpersonal influence, materialism, post purchase doubt, shopping as escape, and use of products as identity bolsters. This last set of results shows that low SCC consumers, who by definition are inflicted with self-confusion and concomitant anxiety, use the marketplace as a coping resource. These results suggest the concept’s utility in extending our understanding of certain important consumer behaviors.     

一种汽车落水应急救护系统的设计

设计了一种基于HT66F70A型单片机的汽车落水应急救护系统,系统由供电电路、汽车落水检测电路、HT66F70A单片机电路、逃生救护报警电路4部分构成.本系统利用液位变送器测取液体压力并将其转换成电压信号输出,电压信号经过HT66F70A内部的12位A/D转换器转换成数字信号,单片机根据数字信号来控制逃生救护报警电路.该系统能够在汽车落水时启动语音报警、点亮呼救灯、显示汽车在水中的下沉深度,开启呼吸通道为乘客提供呼吸环境,并打开车窗为乘客开辟逃生通道.通过仿真测试,表明本系统具有反应灵敏、测试精度高、体积小巧、价格低廉的优点,故本系统具有很好的推广应用价值.     

交通肇事逃逸致人死亡的类型化分析与立法建构

交通肇事罪在1997年修订的现行刑法中将其纳入"危害公共安全罪"一章,然而该罪的"逃逸"和"逃逸致人死亡"语义甚为模糊没有具体化,这是一个立法的漏洞,直接导致了司法实践的处理困难和理论的重大争议。通过着重对交通肇事逃逸致人死亡的行为进行建构性的分类,并且对其分类行为分别予以定性,交通肇事逃逸致人死亡的行为都应当定性为故意,一方面是基于对罪刑相适应原则的考虑,另一方面是基于对社会公平正义理念的追求和更为有利地保护公共安全和被害人的利益。只是在对逃逸行为的具体定性上又区分两种情形,在单纯的逃逸中,应当对行为人定交通肇事罪和间接故意杀人;在移动的逃逸中,应当对行为人定交通肇事罪和直接故意杀人。

Validity and reliability of the Italian Gambling Functional Assessment–Revised

Problem gambling is a growing phenomenon in Italy, and there is increasing interest in studying the reasons for gambling in the Italian community. The Gambling Functional Assessment–Revised (GFA-R) was developed to assess two contingencies maintaining gambling behaviour: positive reinforcement and escape. The study hypothesized that the GFA-R could be translated and adopted in the Italian context. The main purpose of this study was to test the factor structure of the Italian version of the GFA-R by means of confirmatory factor analysis, its internal consistency and validity, in a sample of 667 Italian-speaking adults, recruited at universities, banks, of?ces, industries, markets, public parks and shops in five regions: Piemonte, Veneto, Lazio, Calabria and Puglia. The study found that the scale was internally consistent, and results showed that the original two-factor model fitted the data well. It also found moderate correlations between the GFA-R-I and both SOGS scores and GRCS scores. These results will allow Italian psychologists, educators and policymakers to identify specific contingencies maintaining gambling behaviour (positive reinforcement vs. escape) in the Italian community, detecting people more at risk of developing disordered gambling, with significant improvements in terms of prevention and clinical intervention.
