Electronic markets in support of procurement processes along the automotive supply chain

Since the introduction of the internet, firms have continued to seek ways to use these public networks to gain competitive advantage. The procurement function is beginning to take on greater strategic importance as these networks started providing firms wider opportunities such as choices of suppliers. This aims not only to reduce procurement costs, but also to build stronger relationships with suppliers to improve quality and flexibility in meeting customer demand. This type of linkage of firms with their suppliers when the product manufactured is complex and supply-chain is heavily tiered, such as the case of the automobile industry, creates challenges to any electronic market or exchange that is aiming to support such a system. Based on discussions with some key individuals in an automotive supply chain and an in-depth analysis of a supply-chain segment, this paper explores the role electronic markets may have to play, if they are to support the procurement processes of various agents along the supply chain.     

Relationship Characteristics of Women in Interracial Same-Sex Relationships

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship characteristics of women in interracial same-sex relationships with respect to their current level of stress, internalized homophobia, perceived relationship equality, relationship satisfaction, and social support. Four groups were compared according to their current type of race relationship (ethnic minority women with White partners, White partners only, both ethnic minority partners, and White women with ethnic minority partners). No significant differences were found in terms of children and income; however, ethnic minority women with ethnic minority partners reported lower education attainment than the other groups. Relationally, there were no significant differences by race relationship for social support, relationship equality, relationship satisfaction, or stress. Internalized homophobia was lowest for interracial partnerships (ethnic minority paired with White partner). These findings are discussed in relationship to minority stress.

本文回顾了自中华人民共和国建立以来,中德两国关系的发展历程。在冷战的背景下,历经波折,终致建交。但建交后,中德关系不可避免地打上了深刻的冷战烙印。随着冷战结束,两德统一,中德关系在曲折中迅速发展深化。科尔政府时期实现了中德关系正常化,施罗德将两国关系推进到了前所未有的高度,在默克尔时期中德关系日趋成熟。中国的发展需要德国,德国的发展也需要中国,中德关系的互补性决定了双边关系可望继续保持稳定发展。

明代纺织品流传日本之研究——以入明僧策彦周良为例

在明代中日关系中，纺织品交流是重要的一个内容，其中又以明代纺织品流播日本为主。本文主要以两次入明进行朝贡贸易的日本使臣策彦周良为例，以其朝贡日记《初渡集》为基本素材，分析和研究明代中日纺织品交流的特点。总的来说，明代纺织品流播日本的方式和途径主要有政府赏赐、友人馈赠、使臣自购以及走私贸易等。而赏赐品中以丝丝、文绮、纱罗、绢布及金织袭衣等为多见，馈赠品以便于携带、轻巧的手巾、帽巾、手套、枕盖等为主，使臣自购物中尤以红线、毡毯为多。     

Sexual Satisfaction and Relationship Satisfaction in Dating Couples

Abstract

This study assessed the merits of an amended Interpersonal Exchange Model of Sexual Satisfaction (IEMSS; Lawrance & Byers, 1992, 1995) that includes a measure of relationship communality, a construct not adequately captured by existing exchange models of sexual/relationship satisfaction. A total of 189 undergraduates (102 female) in sexually active dating relationships completed measures of sexual satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, favorability of sexual exchanges, and the extent to which their romantic relationships were characterized by mutually communal behaviors (i.e., relationship communality). Analyses revealed that relationship communality made a small but unique contribution to sexual satisfaction and a large contribution to relationship satisfaction, even after controlling for sexual satisfaction and favorability of sexual exchanges. Implications for understanding the dynamics of sexually active dating relationships are discussed.
