In this paper a specification strategy is proposed for the determination of the orders in ARMA models. The strategy is based on two newly defined concepts: the q-conditioned partial auto-regressive function and the p-conditioned partial moving average function. These concepts are similar to the generalized partial autocorrelation function which has been recently suggested for order determination. The main difference is that they are defined and employed in connection with an asymptotically efficient estimation method instead of the rather inefficient generalized Yule-Walker method. The specification is performed by using sequential Wald type tests. Several models are proposed in the literature for modeling fatigue data resulting from materials subject to cyclic stress and strain. Accelerated Weibull and accelerated Birnbaum–Saunders distributions are most commonly used models. Whereas the accelerated Weibull model is easier compared to accelerated Birnbaum–Saunders, it fails to represent the situation equally well. The present article focuses on Bayes analysis of the two models and provides a comparison based on some important Bayesian tools. This study examined top management team departures in U.S. manufacturing firms acquired by a foreign multinational during the six-year period following acquisition. Results indicated that greater cultural distance between the United States and the home country of the foreign multinational, higher levels of international integration in the target industry, and poor preacquisition performance in the U.S. target company were related to greater postacquisition top management departures. These effects were moderated significantly by the foreign acquirer’s international business and U.S. acquisition experience and showed different patterns over the short-term, intermediate-term, and long-term. Implications for future research on top management teams involved in cross-border acquisitions are discussed. 相似文献
