传承拓展与深化--张爱玲与王安忆都市小说创作比较一隅

张爱玲与王安忆是中国现当代文学史上两位重要的女作家,其都市小说创作有一定的相似性。从她们对都市女性生存境遇的刻画、对市民日常生活的描写及共有的怀旧意识三方面比较她们的异同,指出王安忆的都市小说创作在一定程度上传承了张爱玲的笔法,并拓展深化了都市小说的内涵,具有深远的意义。     

从颠覆童话创作传统到批判西方现代文明病——艾克絮佩里在《小王子》中的文体创新及思想

法国作家艾克絮佩里的《小王子》成为半个多世纪畅销书,其成功首先在于文体上大胆创新,颠覆了童话创作的传统,变写给儿童的童话为写给成人的童话;其次是它的两个思想内涵:一方面超前地批判了当时西方刚刚萌芽的现代文明病;一方面在古老而永恒的爱情主题中,倡导了新的生活艺术。作者是以赤子和童子的诚挚与清纯之心构建他的作品,字里行间浸透着作者的心路历程。     

全连接世界的融传播

智媒体技术为各种传播形态的信息提供了“全连接”的技术支撑,人类社会自此从有信息传播边界的传统媒体时代的人际传播、群体传播、组织传播的社会生活场域,进入到信息传播边界消逝后的全连接世界。在互联网场域,信息从人际传播到群体传播再到大众传播,为此从媒介环境学角度提出“融传播”概念,分析智能媒体时代熟人社交的失控,无边界控制的赛博空间对人的多元身份确认的困惑,智媒技术对人的“监控”等对人类社会生活产生的诸多影响,并反思拟真世界中的人际沟通。     

论全球治理中和谐世界的构建

中国提出的“和谐世界”的构想,不仅是中国国内政策的延续,也符合世界发展潮流,与当今世界流行的“全球治理”观念不谋而合。在全球治理中可以实现和谐世界的构建,因为全球治理从全球观念和价值层面上反映了对和谐世界的追求;在全球治理所倡导的共存、共治、共荣中能够实现国际行为体之间的关系和谐;全球治理在解决全球性问题的目标中可以实现人与自然的和谐。中国就是要努力推动“和谐世界”的构想在全球治理的进程中变成现实,使中国真正成为“负责任的大国”。     

The Mediating Effect of Resilience Between Social Support for Exercise and Resident Satisfaction in Assisted Living

This study examined whether residents' level of resilience mediated the relationship between social support for exercise from staff and resident satisfaction in assisted living. This was a secondary data analysis using baseline data from a function-focused care intervention study including 171 residents from four assisted living facilities. Using structural equation modeling, we found that mood and social support for exercise from staff were the only variables associated with resilience. Mood, gender, cognition, and social support for exercise from staff directly influenced resident satisfaction and explained 31% of the variance in the model. Implications for future research and practice are discussed.     

Quality of Life Enhancement Research Program: Lessons Learned

The attempted Quality of Life Enhancement program appeared to be a novel method for creating a symbiotic and sustainable relationship between a large Southeastern university and local nursing home and assisted living facilities (ALF), through which ALF residents would attend university arts and sporting events. During implementation, it was discovered that this project was unsustainable, undesired, unneeded by many care centers, difficult to implement, and required a dedicated and specialized staff. After attempting to enroll 14 local care facilities, only 2 were interested in becoming involved and produced 5 eligible participants. During the program itself, coordination with facilities and residents was difficult to maintain and unique transportation and accommodation needs were challenging to overcome. Finally, data collection was time consuming and generally unfruitful. Ultimately the project was discontinued after a year of attempted recruitment and implementation of inclusive changes to protocol. While creating an ongoing relationship with local care facilities and local universities may enhance opportunities for residents and research into important areas, such relationships take time, effort, and specialized staff to maintain.     

Divorce,living arrangements,and material well-being during the transition to adulthood in rural Malawi

In this paper, we use longitudinal data to investigate how parental death and divorce influence young women’s own experience of divorce in Malawi, a setting where women marry relatively early and unions are fragile. We find that maternal death and parental divorce are positively associated with divorce for young women but, after controlling for socio-demographic and marital characteristics, only the association with maternal death remains statistically significant. Maternal and paternal death are both strongly associated with women’s post-divorce living arrangements, which in turn affects their material well-being. This finding suggests that divorcing at a young age shapes the subsequent life chances of women; although some women return to their parental home and may have the opportunity to reset the transition to adulthood, other women begin their 20s as head of their own household and with considerable material disadvantage.
