Poverty Research in a Development Policy Context

This article provides an evaluation of the extent to which science is addressing worldwide poverty and hunger. It is based on the literature contained in the Thomson Reuters' Web of Science Citation Index (1980 to 2008) and focuses on the WOTRO Strategy Plan 2007–2010 of the Netherlands Foundation for the Advancement of Tropical Research, although similar policies from other countries might also be assessed. The data show that poverty/hunger research has grown steadily over time in many disciplines, most significantly in Environmental Sciences and Technology. Much of this research is hidden; hence the construction of an internationally recognised open‐access database is recommended so that scientists can easily identify critical gaps related to scientific capacity‐building.

Symmetrical Design of Experiment in Global Sensitivity Analysis Based on ANOVA High-dimensional Model Representation

This article reviews symmetrical global sensitivity analysis based on the analysis of variance of high-dimensional model representation. To overcome the computational difficulties and explore the use of symmetrical design of experiment (SDOE), two methods are presented. If the form of the objective function f is known, we use SDOE to estimate the symmetrical global sensitivity indices instead of Monte Carlo or quasi-Monte Carlo simulation. Otherwise, we use the observed values of the experiment to do symmetrical global sensitivity analysis. These methods are easy to implement and can reduce the computational cost. An example is given by symmetrical design of experiment.     

基于文献关键词统计分析的我国开放与远程教育研究现状探析

以中国知网（CNKI）为平台,利用共词分析方法,对2006年1月至2015年6月间公开发表在开放与远程教育领域期刊论文的关键词进行统计分析,结合SATI软件和UCINET软件进行数据处理,探讨高频关键词之间的内在联系,揭示我国开放与远程教育研究的主题结构和核心领域。结果表明：此间我国开放与远程教育领域主要存在七大研究主题;远程学习、网络课程、学习支持服务、学习者是该领域的研究核心;移动学习、内容分析、学习科学和远程学习者将成为未来的研究热点。     

1980年代“译介热”与中国审美话语的本体自律

20世纪80年代的“译介热”通过引进西方现代文论资源,实现了对政治意识形态“工具论”“反映论”的反拨与对抗,与此同构的是审美自律的进程和审美本体的建构.“审美自律论”和“方法多元论”成为“译介热”的两个主要支点,共同参与现代性人学启蒙,促使了现代派文学的文本发现与形式自律.“审美自律论”促使了审美活动从外部的“他律”转向了审美的“自律”,形式主义文论、结构主义文论等在译介热中引入中国,纷纷促使了美学和文学批评从外部转向内部、从内容转向形式、从思想内涵转向话语革命.同时也直接启发了中国现代派文学和先锋小说的创作,激活了新时期以来潜藏的“形式化”冲动,从而使得形式和语言实验在80年代中后期的文学创作中焕发出愈加重要的作用.     

走向共识:东西方文化对社会和谐的诉求

和谐是人类文明发展的共同追求,然而不同的历史文化背景塑造了不同的社会和谐理念.从文化形态看,中国传统的集团文化表现出重道德秩序的"人伦型和谐"理念,西方传统的经济文化则是重效率合理性的"知识型和谐"理念.当代中国特色社会主义先进文化是一种新型的集团经济文化形态,呈现出以马克思主义为引领的多文化交融的"开放融合型和谐".     

和谐社会构建过程中的民主政治建设

现代民主政治作为人类政治智慧的结晶和现代文明的标志对和谐社会的构建意义重大。民主政治是程序政治、透明政治、宽容政治、法治政治。它为和谐社会提供了必须的制度基础。改革开放以来,社会主义民主政治建设取得了巨大成就,但在构建和谐社会的今天仍然存在一些问题。我们要把握好解决问题的着眼点,找到解决问题的有效路径。在和谐社会的构建过程中发挥民主政治的重要作用,使民主政治与和谐社会相得益彰。     

Eye-tracking methodology: exploring the processing of question formats in web surveys

In social research, the use of agree/disagree (A/D) questions is a popular method for measuring attitudes. Research has shown that A/D questions require complex cognitive processing and are susceptible to response bias. Thus, some researchers recommend the use of item-specific (IS) questions. This study examines the processing of A/D and IS questions, using eye-tracking methodology. By recording respondents’ eye movements, how respondents process survey questions can be evaluated. The results reveal that IS questions cause more and longer fixations. However, this only applies to the response categories. There are no differences regarding the question stems. Altogether, it seems that IS response categories trigger deeper cognitive processing than A/D response categories.     

Gender and social conformity: Do men and women respond differently to social pressure to vote?

In this paper, we re-analyze data from a large-scale field experiment (N = 344,084) on voter turnout in order to determine whether men and women respond differently to social pressure aimed at voter mobilization. To date, there have been mixed results regarding the interaction between a person’s gender and receptivity to social influence. On the whole, our analyses confirm prior findings that social pressure increases voter turnout but uncover little to no evidence of gender differences in receptivity to social pressure cues in the context of political participation.     

大学物理实验中学生创新能力的培养

分析了当前大学物理实验教学在教学、学习和内容上对学生创新力造成制约的现象。在此基础上,从激发学生兴趣营造创新环境、强化心理培养、改革大学物理实验教学体系和建立实践实训基地四个方面提出了对大学生创新能力培养的措施。
