ON AN APPROXIMATE OPTIMALITY CRITERION FOR THE DESIGN OF FIELD EXPERIMENTS UNDER SPATIAL DEPENDENCE

The design of large‐scale field trials where the residuals are correlated has been of recent interest, in large part because of advances in statistical and computational methods of analysis. The construction of designs for correlated data has typically used A‐optimality and is computationally intensive. This involves calculating the inverse of the information matrix for treatments under the supervision of an optimization strategy that explores the design space. We propose an approximation to A‐optimality, using nearest‐neighbour balance, that is less computationally demanding and can achieve at least 95% efficiency relative to A‐optimality in many practical situations.

课题组运用TTCT、威廉斯创造性倾向测验量表等心理测量和等组实验的方法 ,进行了为期 3年的实验研究 ,发现 :小学生的创造力需要系统培养 ,培养则发展 ,不培养则萎缩 ;课堂教学只有实施创造性教学策略才能促进创造力的发展 ;创造力培养可以促进学业成绩的提高

根据外科学总论实验教学课的特点,针对近年来南通大学医学专业印巴留学生逐年增多的实际,在教学中注意尊重其文化差异,努力通过加强心灵沟通出发和建立良好的师生关系,以及科学地运用多媒体直观教学手段的辅助配合,不断提高留学生的学习兴趣和学习积极性,在共同协作培育和谐的团队学术精神过程中,促使外科学总论实验教学质量的不断提高和印巴留学生实践操作能力的不断增强,提升学校国际办学水平。

文章从开放型经济对提升技术水平与创新能力的影响进行了相关分析。以对技术水平的消化吸收与创新能力为线索,分别梳理了贸易与资本流动对于提升区域经济发展技术水平的潜在影响,以及放大这一影响效果所需要具备的基础条件与有效途径。最后,对于利用现有理论指导滨海新区对外开放门户建设进行了展望。

在当前资本、产业、技术向中西部转移的黄金机遇期,河南应立足独特省情,发挥后发优势,更加积极主动地实施开放带动主战略,依托开放招商着力培育发展龙头产业,加强配套设施建设促进产业集群发展,大力破解生产要素保障难题,逐步加快"走出去"步伐,发挥政府主导作用,加快打造内陆开放高地步伐。     

Ethnic Preferences in Internet Dating: A Field Experiment

In an Internet field experiment in Sweden, we assessed the importance of ethnicity for successful online dating proposals for men. Randomizing names and occupation and holding physical appearance constant, our findings show that Swedishness is valued in the dating market and Arabs suffer an ethnic penalty, compared with both Swedes and Greeks. This implies that Arabs have a harder time finding dates, also in a frictionless setting as an Internet dating site.     

Communication With Parents and Body Satisfaction in College Students

Abstract

Objective: This study examined how communication with parents is related to college students’ body satisfaction. Participants and Methods: Participants (N = 134; 58 males and 76 females) completed a survey in March 2011 assessing body satisfaction and perceptions of communication with mothers and fathers. Results: Daughters’ body satisfaction was negatively correlated with perceptions of problematic communication with mothers and fathers. Sons’ body satisfaction was positively correlated with open communication with their mothers and negatively correlated with problematic communication with their mothers. Conclusions: Findings indicated problematic communication with mothers was the most powerful predictor of daughters’ body satisfaction, whereas open communication with mothers was the best predictor of sons’ body satisfaction.     

论唐君毅人文思想的中西会通特点

唐君毅的人文思想是儒家传统思想的现代开发。他借助西方哲学资源重新阐发了人的生命存在、人伦关系、人格世界等人文问题,提出了摄末归本的人文主张,并以此为依据对人文群科重新做了排序。唐君毅的人文思想是以儒家思想为主兼容西学的"返本开新",这种"返本开新"为深入了解中西文化融会的路径提供了可资借鉴的经验。     

Openness in International Adoptions

ABSTRACT

Along with the increasing numbers of international adoptions, there is a developing trend toward openness. In this study, the authors examined the experiences of U.S. adoptive parents who adopted children from the Republic of Marshall Islands. The surveys addressed their initial motivations, the facilitation process for openness, the terms and conditions and the level of understanding of them by birth and adoptive parents, and insights gained from their experiences. The results suggest that in general, this group of parents embraced openness from the onset, they have had difficulty maintaining contact with birth parents, and still would recommend open international adoptions to prospective adoptive parents. Policy and research implications are discussed.
