Counseling Competencies for Sexual Minority Clients

Abstract

Being able to work effectively with clients from diverse backrounds has become a necessity in good counseling practice. Professional associations have acknowledged this in recent years by identifying and articulating multicultural competencies that inform both the practice of counseling, but also the training of counselors. Specific attention to competencies in working with LGBT clients has been identified as a sub-set of these overall cultural competencies. In this paper, leaders within the Association for Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Issues in Counseling present specific ways in which counselors can provide culturally sensitive counseling to sexual minority clients and their families that are in line with the counselor training guidelines established by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

“九位一体”、“五程运作”目标规格型人才培养模式研究——以高职商务管理专业为例

高职人才培养模式包含高职人才的培养目标和培养规格及以人才培养支撑体系（平台）为依托、以人才培养运作体系为工艺的基本培养方式。依照人才培养模式的内涵,模仿工厂产品生产方式,探索出“九位一体”、“五程运作”的目标规格型人才培养模式。     

Assessing political participation on the Internet in contemporary China

Drawing on the resource model of political participation, this study examines the ways in which various resources, including money, computer and Internet access, Internet skills, and civic skills predict Chinese citizens’ political participation online. The results showed that income was a significant predictor of online political participation regardless of whether it was by using the Internet to contact governmental officials, monitoring public policies online, or participating in online protests. Civic skills also consistently predicted the three forms of online political participation. Computer and Internet access, as well as Internet skills, were significant predictors of some forms of online political participation, but not all of them. Political interest positively moderated the association between income and each of the three dependent variables. The theoretical and empirical implications of these results are discussed.     

高校青年马克思主义者培养工程机制研究

青年马克思主义者培养工程,自2007年5月团中央启动以来,受到全国各级团组织的积极响应。高校"青马工程"在培训规模、培训内容及培训效果等方面已取得初步成效,但在具体实施中,目前的机制仍存在一些问题。对此,各高校需在培养效果的深化、评价考核体系的优化、培训形式的创新等方面推进"青马工程"的深入实施,以形成"青马工程"培养的长效机制。
