凡尔赛-华盛顿体系与中国外交方略的转变

在第一次世界大战后建立的凡尔赛—华盛顿体系中,中国的外交方略发生了重要转变。巴黎和会期间,中国就山东问题据理力争,将“以夷制夷”为基础的既定方略转变为诉诸国际法进行抗争;华盛顿会议期间,中国又通过主动参与国际条约体系、运用国际法准则制衡列强的方略,维护了国家的主权和利益。以这两次重要的国际会议为起点,中国外交开始与现代国际政治逐步接轨。     

深入贯彻十六大精神 构建学习型高校机关

党的十六大提出要"形成全民学习、终身学习的学习型社会,促进人的全面发展",这是十六大确立的全面建设小康社会奋斗目标的一项重要内容。高等学校作为培养人才、发展科学、服务社会的重要基地,是培养创新人才和学习型人才的摇蓝,应该建设学习型的高校机关,适应现代高等学校改革发展的需要,顺应时代前进方向的要求。     

Missionary ethnographers in Upper‐Tonkin: the early years, 1895–1920

Little is known of the contributions of French missionaries to early highland ethnography in the mountainous north of Vietnam (then Tonkin) at the time of colonial contact, a period defined here as 1895–1920. This paper investigates how a handful of men from the Catholic Société des Missions Étrangères de Paris contributed significant amounts of text from their postings in remote parts of the Upper‐Tonkin (Haut‐Tonkin) vicariate, and in some cases Southwest China. A selection of their prose is presented and its ethnographic value appraised, bringing to light the authors in their context as well as the texts themselves. It is assessed in conclusion that, despite their uneven importance as a source for ethnography, these texts nevertheless constitute a unique supply of information on the populations they describe.

16-18世纪间西欧的激进思潮与近代国家的形成

16—18世纪间西欧出现过各种各样的激进思潮,这些思潮在西欧近代国家形成中均起过重要作用。我们习惯上较多地重视某些思潮,认为这些思潮起主导性的作用,这有一定的道理,但也易于造成一些片面的认识。各种被认为非主流的激进思潮的传播和实践,同样在西欧近代国家形成过程中起过重要作用。只有这样来看问题,我们才能真正认识西欧近代国家形成的特点。     

南海区域港口国监督合作机制探析

港口国监督是港口国政府管理本国海域船舶的安全和海域污染方面的一项重要制度。受制于经济发展及航运水平的差异,南海区域国家港口国监督缺乏统一的标准和要求,借鉴国际上港口国监督组织成功的经验,南海区域各国可效仿巴黎备忘录和东京备忘录的新机制,制定符合南海周边国家实情的合作机制。     

VOLATILITY,LABOR MARKET FLEXIBILITY,AND THE PATTERN OF COMPARATIVE ADVANTAGE

This paper studies the link between volatility, labor market flexibility, and international trade. International differences in labor market regulations affect how firms can adjust to idiosyncratic shocks. These institutional differences interact with sector specific differences in volatility (the variance of the firm‐specific shocks in a sector) to generate a new source of comparative advantage. Other things equal, countries with more flexible labor markets specialize in sectors with higher volatility. Empirical evidence for a large sample of countries strongly supports this theory: the exports of countries with more flexible labor markets are biased towards high‐volatility sectors. We show how differences in labor market institutions can be parsimoniously integrated into the workhorse model of Ricardian comparative advantage of Dornbusch, Fischer, and Samuelson (1977, American Economic Review, 67, 823–839). We also show how our model can be extended to multiple factors of production.     

UNDER PRESSURE: GENDER DIFFERENCES IN OUTPUT QUALITY AND QUANTITY UNDER COMPETITION AND TIME CONSTRAINTS

Gender gaps in the workplace are widespread. One explanation for gender inequality stems from the effects of the interaction between competition and two pressure sources, namely, task stereotypes and time constraints. This study uses a laboratory experiment to find that the gender gap in performance under competition and preferences for competition can be partly explained by the differential responses of men and women to the above pressures. In particular, while women underperform the men in a high‐pressure math‐based tournament, women greatly increase their performance levels and their willingness to compete in a low‐pressure verbal environment, such that they actually surpass the men. This effect appears largely due to the fact that extra time in a verbal competition improves the quality of women’s work, reducing their mistake share. On the other hand, men use this extra time to increase only the quantity of work, which results in a greater relative number of mistakes. A labor market study suggests that the nature of the job and the stress level are correlated with the gender gap in the labor market in a manner consistent with the results of my experiment.     

巴黎公社在马克思主义发展史上的历史地位

巴黎公社是在马克思主义的精神指导下发生的无产阶级革命运动,是马克思主义本土化的最初尝试。它不仅证明了马克思和恩格斯所创立的科学社会主义学说具有强大的生命力,而且为后来的国际共产主义运动提供了许多宝贵经验及教训,极大地丰富了科学社会主义的理论内涵,在整个马克思主义发展史上享有崇高的历史地位。     

“社会共和国”理论的基本内涵及现代价值——基于巴黎公社的政治解读

革命才能建立共和国。马克思恩格斯的＂社会共和国＂是基于普选选举公职人员旨在实现劳动解放与社会改造以保证工人阶级免受社会奴役的无产阶级专政的共和国。公社是对＂社会＂共和国的超越与扬弃,它奠定了＂社会共和国＂真正民主制度的基础。
