德国在二战后被分裂成两个国家,就其外部因素来讲,是由于以美苏为首的大国合作政策在战后逐渐走向对抗并导致冷战的产物,是外部力量施加于德国的结果,而在走向对抗的过程中,美苏在德国赔偿问题上的冲突,是导致德国分裂的一个重要原因。

19世纪末20世纪初,一批作家和杂志记者通过“黑幕揭发”在美国发起一场旨在揭露社会腐败现象的新闻报道和文学创作运动。这场运动促进了处于转型期美国社会的全面变革,同时杂志业也迅速崛起与发展。今天的中国也在经历着社会转型,遇到了黑幕揭发作品所揭露的社会问题,黑幕揭发运动对于当代中国杂志的发展仍具有启示意义。     

美、德终身教育现状比较研究

美、德两国都先后通过教育法案来促进和保障国家终身教育的开展,并利用公立和私立院校为民众提供多样的终身教育服务;两国终身教育体系在资金来源、办学机构、管理等及对终身教育概念的理解等方面又有明显差异。     

美国青少年公民道德教育审视与思考

建立和完善对青少年进行公民道德教育的机制是美国教育的特色之一。长期以来，美国在对青少年进行公民道德教育的过程中，形成了特有的人本化、个性化的教育理念，多样性、灵活性的教育方法，渗透性、社会性的教育途径，充分发挥了政治性、阶级性的教育功能，有着一整套独特的理论与实践体系，对青少年公民道德素质培养提高发挥了重要作用。通过对美国青少年进行公民道德教育的内容和运行机制的分析审视，借鉴其成功的经验和做法，可以提高我国青少年公民道德教育的实效性。     

Maternal union instability and childhood mortality risk in the Global South, 2010–14

Efforts to improve child survival in lower-income countries typically focus on fundamental factors such as economic resources and infrastructure provision, even though research from post-industrial countries confirms that family instability has important health consequences. We tested the association between maternal union instability and children’s mortality risk in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Asia using children’s actual experience of mortality (discrete-time probit hazard models) as well as their experience of untreated morbidity (probit regression). Children of divorced/separated mothers experience compromised survival chances, but children of mothers who have never been in a union generally do not. Among children of partnered women, those whose mothers have experienced prior union transitions have a higher mortality risk. Targeting children of mothers who have experienced union instability—regardless of current union status—may augment ongoing efforts to reduce childhood mortality, especially in Africa and Latin America where union transitions are common.     

In search of message design best practices: The Silver Anvil Award winners archive

We investigated specific award-winning public relations efforts to derive best practices that bridge industry practices with academic research and pedagogy. The data for this project were the winning entries for the annual Public Relations Society of America's (PRSA) Silver Anvil Award, which is considered the top award recognizing excellence in public relations. We found, however, that the archive of award winners does not provide sufficiently definitive information about what defines any public relations discourse genre or why any genre as used is “excellent.” This archival research provides us with a key rationale for employing rhetorical, narrative, and linguistic theories prospectively to guide public relations message design and planning, theories which hitherto have been used to judge campaigns post hoc or retrospectively.     

美国《双语教育法》颁布的社会背景研究——基于霍姆斯的四模式分析框架

在美国的中小学校除英语之外讲各种语言的学生,或者说那些不会讲英语的学生,他们的教育需求长期得不到妥善的解决。1968年颁布的《双语教育法》表明,美国联邦政府承认了美国学校体制中长期存在的只能使用英语教学的单语教学问题,如何使教学语言多样性是一个亟待解决的核心问题。以霍姆斯的四模式为分析框架,把颁布《双语教育法》时纷繁复杂的社会背景置于规范模式、组织制度模式、精神状态模式和自然环境模式中进行分析,结果显示:(1)移民人口剧增并逐步扩展到新的区域,给美国公立学校造成了巨大压力;(2)司法判例对所实施的隔离但平等原则的彻底否定催生了新的希望;(3)少数族裔群体谴责主流社会的不公平,他们要求身份认同和获得更多权利的呼声愈来愈大;(4)联邦政府对保障国防安全、消除贫困现象等多重利益的考量,促成了《双语教育法》的颁布。     

The Double Challenge of Market and Social Incorporation: Progress and Bottlenecks in Latin America

Has the past decade of sustained economic growth and political transformations reversed Latin America's historical failure to secure market and social incorporation? To address this question this article draws on the experiences of Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Uruguay by distinguishing between short‐term outcomes – which may depend on benign international conditions – and policy changes, which are more important for long‐term performance. It highlights the overall success of both Brazil and Uruguay and shows that the other countries have made more progress in terms of social than market incorporation.
