Testing for Circular Reflective Symmetry about a Known Median Axis

Circular data arise in many contexts, a particularly rich source being animal orientation experiments. Often, in the analysis of such data, a fundamental question of scientific interest is whether the underlying distribution is reflectively symmetric about some specific axis. In this paper, the situation in which the axis of interest is known to be a median axis is considered and a simple, asymptotically distribution- free test for circular reflective symmetry against skew alternatives is developed. The results from a simulation study lead to a testing strategy incorporating the new test and the circular analogue of the modified runs test of Modarres & Gastwirth (1996). The application of the testing strategy is illustrated using circular data arising from two animal orientation experiments.

国内上市公司品牌经营效应实证研究

自上世纪80年代以来,国内外理论界对品牌进行了深入研究,但实证研究相对较少。文章选取使用中国驰名商标或获得中国名牌产品认定的国内上市公司作为研究对象,借助2001年年报数据资料,分析了国内上市公司品牌经营现状,分析了名牌上市公司的地区分布和行业分布。文章运用均值(中值)比较、曼·惠特尼U检验方法,对全体名牌上市公司和非名牌上市公司各盈利能力指标和成长性指标进行对比分析,发现品牌经营确实显著提高了企业营业利润增长率;但企业盈利能力、业务拓展能力的提高并不显著。通过对制造业上市公司进一步分析,发现在竞争较为充分的行业,品牌经营能显著提高企业的盈利能力和成长性。     

西北地区农业产业结构演变及其发展研究

区域农业经济的发展与其产业结构有密切关系。目前,针对西北地区农业产业的研究多针对农业产业集群发展的讨论,而将西北地区的农业产业整合起来的研究尚不多见。通过对西北地区各省区农业产业结构演变过程进行分析,对各省区的农业优势部门做出选择,并尝试对西北各省区农、林、牧、渔和服务业之间如何协同发展给出一定参考意见。     

Production efficiency in Indian agriculture: An assessment of the post green revolution years

In this paper we use the nonparametric method of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to obtain Pareto-Koopmans measures of technical efficiency of individual states over the years 1970–71 through 2000–01 in a multi-output, multi-input model of agricultural production. We disaggregate overall efficiency into two distinct components representing output and input efficiencies and identify the contribution of individual outputs and inputs to the measured level of overall efficiency. Because introduction of modern inputs has been a major component of the process of modernization of Indian agriculture, we examine to what extent different states succeeded in utilizing the modern inputs compared to the traditional inputs. Variations in the DEA efficiency scores across states and over years is explained in terms of differences in various institutional and demographic factors in a second stage regression analysis.

国内美籍华裔文学研究论文分析(1980-2005)

本文对《中国期刊全文数据库》和《报刊资料索引》中收录的1980—2005年国内美籍华裔文学研究论文从年代分布、期刊分布、作者分布和主题分布等方面进行了统计分析。文章从论文的数量、质量、形式、主题、研究队伍等方面讨论美籍华裔文学研究的发展态势,指出,美籍华裔文学研究从80年代起经历了一个较为缓慢的过程,到本世纪走向成熟。研究者队伍、论文的内容、层次呈多样化,但目前还存在诸多空白需要填补。
