合作学习在大学英语教学中的应用

由美国一些教育家倡导的合作学习是以学生为中心的教学方法,适合外语学习的特点,在世界上许多国家推广.将合作学习的方法灵活地应用于大学英语教学,不仅能够提高非英语专业学生的英语听说能力,营造良好的课堂气氛,还能够培养学生的学习自主性和人际交往能力.

面对新的形势,思想政治工作唯有坚持以人为本,才能增强其实效性。     

中国加入八国集团研究

八国集团对世界事务的影响举足轻重,中国对于是否加入八国集团表现的顾虑重重。究其原因,一是担心八国集团会架空联合国;二是中国考虑到自己是一个发展中国家,而八国集团从本质上来说是一个富国俱乐部;三是八国集团曾经在1989年制裁过我们。但是,我们加入八国集团却有许多好处:一是可以更好的改善中美关系;二是可以吸引和争取更多的投资和贷款;三是可以从八国集团的内部影响八国集团的决策;四是符合我们的大国外交战略。相反,如果我们长期远离八国集团,就可能在将来被边缘化。在加入的方式上,中国可以先以观察员的身份列席八国首脑会议,等待合适时机,正式加入。     

Forced to work and liberated from work

The work-welfare nexus is essential in all social policy regimes. The question is in what situations individuals should be entitled to social welfare benefits and in which situations they should be obliged to work. Social welfare law and administrative practices define mechanisms that separate the deserving poor from people able to work. This article analyses the functions and character of these "separation mechanisms" in Sweden during three periods in history: a) in rural society in the late 19th century; b) in industrial society during the successful years of the Swedish model from World War II until the late 1970s; and c) the present, including the period of welfare retrenchment and reconsideration since the early 1980s. The conclusion is that Swedish social policy has always been strongly work-oriented, but the specific form and content of the work ethic has varied under the influence of different ideologies and handled in different social policy institutions. Under specific conditions the work line has been either generous or restrictive and it has been based on structural attempts to improve the opportunities to work as well as on attempts to strongly pressure the individual to work. The work line of today is seen as an interesting attempt to combine an effort to create good work through improved work conditions and an effort to reinforce elements of work enforcement in the social insurance system.     

Employment and filial relations: Is there a conflict?

Since children, particularly daughters, are among the most important sources of help and support for older Americans, it has been suggested that women's increasing employment will affect filial relations. Empirical evidence on this issue is inconsistent, in part due to the use of nonprobability samples. Few studies have measured effects for men. We attempt to broaden the scope of this question beyond help to the frail elderly by asking whether employment affects filial relations in general. We examine effects of hours employed on telephone contact, visiting, feelings of closeness, filial attitudes, and assistance to biological parents, for an area probability sample of men and women over 40. There are no effects of employment for men or women on contact, closeness, or assistance. For the vast majority of this population sample, contact and assistance involve few hours per week, and thus do not seem to conflict with employment.

当前大学生面对瞬息万变的社会难以适应,诱发了各种心理疾病。文章分析了大学生自身的心理素质具有观念先进行为落后、情绪时而稳定时而波动、成熟性强适应性差和在交往中感到孤独等特征,指出了这些特征对大学生形成健康心理素质的影响。并结合工作中的实际案例,总结了培养大学生健康心理素质的工作途径,提出了明确工作目标、制定整体规划、加强队伍建设、完善管理机制、课堂内外结合开展网络式教育、开展普查咨询、处理好心理素质教育与思想政治工作的关系等几点做法和建议,来引导大学生形成健康心理素质。     

Work/Care Regimes: Institutions,Culture and Behaviour and the Australian Case

Increasingly around the industrialized world, labour markets rely upon the paid work of women, many of whom have dependents. Such changing patterns of paid work by women — and by men — are located within work/care regimes that are more or less hostile to the needs of paid workers who care for others. This article sets out a model of work/care regimes and locates the Australian case within international and historical contexts. In Australia, the unchanging normative male worker archetype dominates institutions of work and care, while the cultures of motherhood and fatherhood remain stoically resistant to renovation. In the meantime, the behaviour of working women runs ahead of these unchanging cultures and institutions, creating a policy interest in ‘reconciling’ work and care, but a failure to provide it. The reasons for this failure are outlined.
