A note on the asymptotic efficiency of the sobel–wald test

Let X₁,X₂, … be iid random variables with the pdf f(x,θ)=exp(θx?b(θ)) relative to a σ-finite measure μ, and consider the problem of deciding among three simple hypotheses H_i:θ=θ_i (1?i?3) subject to P(acceptH_i|θ_i)=1?α (1?i?3). A procedure similar to Sobel–Wald procedure is discussed and its asymptotic efficiency as compared with the best nonsequential test is obtained by finding the limit lim_a→0(E_iN(a)/n(a)), where N (a) is the stopping time of the proposed procedure and n(a) is the sample size of the best non-sequential test. It is shown that the same asymptotic limit holds for the original Sobel–Wald procedure. Specializing to N(θ,1) distribution it is found that lim_a→0$\text{(E}{}_{\mathrm{i}}\text{N(α)/n(α))=}\text{1}\text{4}$ (i=1,2) and lim_a→0 (E₃N(α)n(α))=δ²₁/4δ, where δ_i=(θ_i+1?θ_i) with 0<δ₁?δ₂. Also, the asymptotic efficiency evaluated when the X's have an exponential distribution.

Nonparametric repeated significance tests for one-way anova with adoptation to multiple comparisons

Based on two-sample rank order statistics, a repeated significance testing procedure for a multi-sample location problem is considered. The asymptotic distribution theory of the proposed tests is given under the null hypothesis as well as under local alternatives. A Bahadur efficiency result of the repeated significance test relative to the terminal test based solely on the target sample size is presented. In the adaptation of the proposed tests to multiple comparisons, an asymptotically equivalent test statistic in terms of the rank estimators of the location parameters is derived from which the Scheffé method of multiple comparisons can be obtained in a convinient way.     

Post-evaluation determination of a program's generalizability

The literature on the generalizability of program effects focuses exclusively on the a priori development of evaluation designs which enable certain generalizations to be made. Due to a variety of factors, new questions of a program's generalizability often arise only after the completion of the formal evaluation study. This paper suggests secondary analysis procedures which can be employed using existing evaluation data to estimate a program's generalizability when followup field studies are not feasible.     

“80后”婚姻中的姓氏之争

被称为"80后"的一代如今已经陆续结婚生子,他们在给家庭带来幸福的同时,也带来了特殊的矛盾——孩子的姓氏应该跟谁。研究以昆山市5个1980后出生的被访者为个案研究对象,以开放式的定性访谈来获得研究资料,对"80后"婚姻中的姓氏之争展开了深入的实地调查。在对资料进行定性分析的基础上发现:"80后"婚姻中出现姓氏之争的原因呈现多样性,既有政策、个人方面的因素,也受传统文化与现代文明所左右;"80后"家庭对姓氏之争采取了相应的应对方式:生两胎、采用新复姓等。姓氏之争表面上是日常生活中的家庭矛盾,实质上却是受经济发展、文化变迁、家庭结构转变乃至价值观念等众多因素制约而面临的"复杂性问题"。     

公式化语言在心理词汇中在线处理的研究综述

公式化语言是语言的重要组成成分,目前从心理语言学和二语习得方面对其研究还较少,尤在国内更少。文章主要从心理语言学角度对现有的公式化语言相关研究及其研究方法进行综述,讨论这些研究的结果以及其局限,分析现有研究对今后公式化语言在心理语言学和二语习得方面研究方向的启示。     

从英汉语言差异看母语思维对英语写作负迁移

针对大学英语写作中母语思维普遍存在的现象,从词、词组和句子的角度比较英汉语言差异并在学生英语习作中实证观察母语思维负迁移在这些层面常出现的错误,目的是从语言根源上发现一些摆脱母语思维的对应策略,提高学生英语语言构建能力。     

“80后”农民工婚恋障碍分析——基于苏州、无锡、南京等8市的调查

通过对苏州、无锡、南京等8市的调查问卷分析,结合相关文献资料,重点分析了＂80后＂农民工的婚恋现状以及婚恋中的障碍。分析结果表明：有62%的＂80后＂农民工未婚;择偶意向总体较为务实,倾向于传统的择偶方式;其婚恋的障碍主要在于职业性质限制择偶范围、工作时间长、经济收入低以及比较功利的爱情观。据此认为：＂80后＂农民工婚恋障碍问题的解决,需要国家和社会给予政策、制度的支持,营造良好的婚恋环境。
