Disclosing Lesbian and Gay Male Sexual Orientation in Later Life: Attitudes of Younger and Older Generations in Eight Latin American Countries

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research was to explore attitudes toward older lesbians and gay men disclosing their sexual preferences in eight Latin American countries. The sample consisted of 1,539 participants belonging to three age groups (18–29 years, 60–69 years, and 70 years and over). Their answers to two open-ended questions were content-analyzed, and binary logistic regressions were run on the extreme attitudinal categories. Results showed that although most attitudes were positive, a solid percentage of participants still expressed different kinds of derogatory attitudes. Men (as compared to women) and participants who were more religious and less educated tended to hold more negative attitudes toward lesbians and gay men. Both older samples were more prejudiced than the younger one, and attitudes also varied according to country. There was a general trend showing more positive attitudes toward older lesbians and gay men in those countries where sexual minorities’ rights are better assured, which suggests that measures to protect sexual minorities and to make sexual diversity in older age visible could be advisable.     

提高退休年龄与降低替代率：城镇职工基本养老金的财政支出研究

目前，中国法定退体年龄与最优退休年龄存在不同步的现象，所建最优退休年龄经济模型的结果表明人口死亡概率与最优退休年龄的动态经济规律。按照这个规律，中国目前应提高退休年龄。但通过对城镇职工的年龄预测及对其赡养率和缴费率的敏感性分析，笔者认为解决目前财政压力的关键是适当降低养老金替代率，而提高退休年龄应运步推行。

面对着世纪的动荡、时代的转换、精神的危机与价值的虚无,白银时代宗教哲学家力图为19世纪末至20世纪初饱受苦难的俄罗斯寻求拯救之途。在寻求拯救之途的理论思索中,他们深切地意识到,俄罗斯在精神层面所面临的最大危机源于虚无主义。这种强劲的虚无主义思潮,腐蚀和侵害着俄罗斯的精神与灵魂,消解着终极的信仰与崇高的理念。由此,俄罗斯白银时代宗教哲学家力图通过以东正教为理论根基的新文化观建构,来对抗和消解虚无主义对俄罗斯精神与实践层面的侵袭。

美国主流媒体有关财政悬崖危机等孤立议题的辩论,是一种转移公众注意力的干扰性话语政治学,它旨在强化去政治化和威权主义的新模式,割裂人们对个体困境与公共利益考虑之间的联系。在民主共和两党尤其是共和党极端主义对福利国家、公共利益和责任政府的大肆攻击之下,美国已经变成精神上的威权国家,市场极端主义和极端个人主义甚嚣尘上,想象力、能动性和希望被窒息。在此情况下,批判教育学成为正义、社会责任和民主意义的核心,帮助人们争取集体夺回民主斗争的胜利。     

HIV Prevention,Gender and Sexual Health

Abstract

Drawing on a review of relevant literature as well as global experience, this paper focuses on aspects of the growing feminisation of the HIV epidemic, especially the combination of age and gender which makes young women particularly vulnerable to HIV. It also briefly touches upon the gender-constructed vulnerability of young men. The linkages between gender, sexual health and HIV-and what works to forge these linkages-have now been well established. Not acting on the basis of this knowledge in order to avert millions of infections and deaths due to HIV, is no longer an option.     

Children's Expression of Emotional Meaning in Music Through Expressive Body Movement

Recent research has demonstrated that preschool children can decode emotional meaning in expressive body movement; however, to date, no research has considered preschool children's ability to encode emotional meaning in this media. The current study investigated 4- (N = 23) and 5- (N = 24) year-old children's ability to encode the emotional meaning of an accompanying music segment by moving a teddy bear using previously modeled expressive movements to indicate one of four target emotions (happiness, sadness, anger, or fear). Adult judges visually categorized the silent videotaped expressive movement performances by children of both ages with greater than chance level accuracy. In addition, accuracy in categorizing the emotion being expressed varied as a function of age of child and emotion. A subsequent cue analysis revealed that children as young as 4 years old were systematically varying their expressive movements with respect to force, rotation, shifts in movement pattern, tempo, and upward movement in the process of emotional communication. The theoretical significance of such encoding ability is discussed with respect to children's nonverbal skills and the communication of emotion.

信息素质由敏锐的信息意识、较强的信息法律观、良好的信息道德和过硬的信息技能组成,信息素质的教育内容应包括信息法律教育、信息道德与网络道德教育、信息源教育,信息素质教育的对象应涉及信息管理者、教育工作者和信息用户。     

刑法适用解释的难题——以最高人民法院对奸淫幼女的“批复”为视角

最高人民法院关于奸淫幼女的"批复"以及学界对该"批复"的辩驳表明,我国刑法适用解释的基本立场急待确定,即严格解释规则、正确解释规则和生活逻辑规则。以此反观我国刑法第236条第2款的规定,可知对奸淫幼女犯罪排斥年龄认识错误辩护并不当然表示立法创制了一个不以罪过为要素的绝对责任之罪。我国学界对"批复"的辩驳暴露了学术争鸣的理论苍白与逻辑混乱,"批复"亦不能澄清关于奸淫幼女犯罪构成罪过要素的困惑。走出困境的根本出路在于完善我国法定强奸罪立法。
