Gender Perspective in Cross-Cultural Couples

This article explores gender perspective in clinical work with couples whose romantic choices fall across cultural, racial and religious lines. A conceptual framework is presented to track the dimensions of differences between the two partners in intercultural couples (collective vs. individualistic). The article illustrates how emotional expressiveness, continuum of autonomy, gender differentiation, and sexuality play out in intimate cross-cultural relationships. It also shows how the embedded, culturally assigned gender beliefs and roles are addressed in treatment. Examples from the author’s clinical work are presented throughout the article.

Self-Identified Traditional,Moderate, and Liberal Catholics: Movement-Based Identities or Something Else?

Through qualitative analyses of 50 in-depth interviews with Catholics in three Midwestern cities, I investigate the role of religious movement organizations in the formation of Catholic identities. I find that movement organizations and elites tend to have little direct impact on the formation of Catholic parishioners’ identities in my sample. While movements’ disruptions and interactions with media are useful for generating debate and wider recognition of religious disagreements, my respondents are not usually socialized by nor do they identify with familiar movements when they call themselves traditional, moderate, and liberal. Most are uninterested in and unacquainted with movement organizations and publications. Instead, their religious identification is a form of religious mapping, which reflects their self-understood position vis-à-vis recognized cultural conflicts within the larger religious community. While movements play a limited role, I argue that we should be wary of conceptualizing Catholic identities as products of movement groups or parachurch networks since most Catholic identity-work occurs within families and parishes, as opposed to movements or parachurch organizations.

‘How to be a rural man’: Young men's performances and negotiations of rural masculinities

This paper is concerned with young rural men and how they ‘do’ identity politics living in a rural area of Norway. Focusing on how masculinity and rurality are constructed and interrelated in young men's narratives of living in a remote community, it is identified that young rural men reproduce, negotiate and transform local discourses of rural masculinity. First, the article shows that young men living in rural areas believe it is important to express rural masculinity through hunting and outdoor life as well as by exhibiting skills as handymen. Second, it reveals that it is important for young rural men to communicate a particular stance in the ongoing and controversial Norwegian debate over snowmobiles and carnivores, as these topics are related to rural men's sense of loyalty to place. Third, the article shows how rural men negotiate ‘the tough man’ images related to hunting, motors and handyman skills by constructing new and alternative masculinities. The analysis reveals that young rural men enact alternative masculinities, expressed in relation to new working life opportunities in the service sector, through emotional openness and caring, and in relation to traditional ‘masculine spaces’ such as hunting and snowmobiling. It is concluded that, little by little, rural communities are opening up for more flexible masculinities.

文章以文化诠释学方法对全球化过程中食物的克里奥尔化进行了分析,并以Askegaard等对移居丹麦的格陵兰岛人的食物和BrindaMehta对加勒比等法语国家侨民的食物的调查为例证,探讨了克里奥尔化食物对文化交流中人们对多元文化中身份的建构和认同的作用。     

维吾尔族大学生新媒体使用与身份认同

文章在对乌鲁木齐大学生的新媒体使用与身份认同进行问卷调查的基础上,分析了维吾尔族大学生的新媒体使用与身份认同的关系。研究认为维吾尔族大学生在新媒体使用中表现出的国家印象比较正面、积极,对各类事件的关注和参与体现出对国家的归属感。族群认同方面,维吾尔族大学生在新媒体使用中对于自己所属族群的情感态度、归属感比较强烈。新媒体在族际交往方面区隔意义大于联系意义。     

现阶段我国农民体育发展现状特征分析及对策研究

运用文献资料法、专家访谈、实地走访调查等方法,对现阶段我国农民体育发展现状及特征进行分析,提出应加大政府资金投入力度,加强基层农村社会体育指导员的培养和配备;依托村级体育健身活动中心、文化大院及传统节日,开展体育及健康教育活动;挖掘地方特色项目,拓宽农村学校体育课程内容;从城镇社区的角度,组织开展农民工体育活动等一系列对策。     

劳务派遣的新模式及制度创新——基于福建省的实证研究

近几年,福建正在大力发展劳务派遣,并且在法律制度框架体系上彰显出自己的特色,甚至在多方面走在全国的前列,起着引领与示范作用。特别是政府政策的扶持以及对派遣员工的权益保护两方面比较突出。为了促使劳务派遣能够更加规范健康的发展,宜在派遣公司的准入、派遣岗位的“三性”界定、派遣员工与第三方实行同工同酬、同工同时、同工同权等几个主要问题上进行创新,进一步完善劳务派遣法制。     

论萧颖士在唐代古文运动中的地位和贡献

为了纠正以往古文运动的研究多集中在中唐时期，特别是韩愈、柳宗元二人的成就、影响这一偏颇，引起学界对运动前期诸多先驱探索性贡献的足够重视，本文对盛唐时即从事文章革新的一位前驱人物一萧颖士在古文运动史上的地位及贡献进行了论述。认为萧颖士在盛唐文章革新的潮流中具有非常重要的地位，他是带动盛唐文章改革、形成唐文一变的领袖人物，在理论主张、创作实践、培养后备力量等方面都作出了巨大的历史贡献，并对中唐韩柳集团产生了深刻的影响。     

异质性社区的社会交往与社区认同——北京沙村的个案研究

通过对北京一个流动人口聚居区的田野调查,基于本土居民适应的视角,讨论分析了本土居民与外来移民在共居状态下日常交往的内容与层次,并进一步阐述了外来移民对本土居民的家庭生活、社会交往以及社区认同的影响。研究表明,无论在客观层面还是主观认同上,"社会距离"真实地存在于本土居民与外来移民的社会交往中;同时,由于与外来移民打交道成为他们日常生活中最重要的内容,本土居民之间的互动和社区参与受到制约,邻里社会资本这类传统的社会连接纽带遭到破坏,本土居民的社区认同与归属感降低,社区整合与秩序受到了挑战。
