A perspective on multinational enterprise’s national identity dilemma

ABSTRACT

This conceptual paper identifies gaps and contributes to the literature on ‘identity’ dilemmas faced by multinational enterprises operating in a globalised world. Various characteristics and business strategies of multinational enterprises are delineated and analysed through the lens of social identity theory and international business concepts such as market and institutional logic. Our analysis, based on multiple cases, and derived from a variety of industries and countries, associates the identity dilemma to informed business strategy. Our findings suggest that while multinational enterprises face identity dilemmas that they sometimes use to their advantage, it also poses several challenges. Through our conceptualisation, we derive five distinct propositions to shape future research directions.

关于调解担保制度的思考

笔者认为,案外人为调解协议提供担保时,具有其他诉讼参与人之诉讼地位,并享有相应的诉讼权利。同一债权在民事活动中设定担保后,在调解程序可能又设定另一担保。此时的处理规则应有别于民法中两种担保方式并存时的处理。     

Dancing with discrimination: managing stigma and identity

Fans are a group that are stigmatized and discredited, at least to some degree, by their “deviant” and common form of symbolic consumption. At stake in the process of stigmatization is the very identity of the individual fan, and their symbolic and emotional well‐being. This paper reports on an empirical study of one particular group of fans—Star Trek fans (or “Trekkies”)—and explores the complex identity issues articulated by them as they “manage” their problematic public identity. Drawing upon interviews conducted with 18 Trekkies, the article describes how this stigmatic identity is organized within a disciplinary matrix that operates at a micro level through two key processes: humour and self‐surveillance. In particular, we highlight their struggle with the dilemmas of exposing their private “fandom” in a public context, and the highly ambivalent manner in which they seek to escape stigmatization.     

The Environment of Family Education and the College Students＇ Social Identity with the Socialist Core Value System

家庭教育环境与大学生对社会主义核心价值体系的社会认同之间存在一定的内在逻辑。调查表明，大学生对社会主义核心价值体系的认知度、认同度和践行度均呈现出“中度偏高”的特征，且相互之间呈正相关。在影响大学生对社会主义核心价值体系的社会认同的一系列家庭教育环境因素中，家庭指导性因子与社会主义核心价值体系的认知度和践行度呈显著的正相关，家庭利他性因子与社会主义核心价值体系的认同度和践行度呈显著的正相关，家庭道德性因子对社会主义价值体系的认同度施加着显著的正向影响．家庭自由性因子则与对社会主义价值体系的践行度呈显著的负相关。     

Rethinking cynicism: Parrhesiastic practices in contemporary workplaces

Within the social sciences, most studies of transnationalism take the approach that migrants experience a duality between place of origin and place of residence. In that kind of approach, transnationalism refers to a sense of in‐betweenness caused by this duality. The aim of this paper is to show how the activities of an Iranian diaspora organization in Southern California (NIPOC) may seem essentialist at first but can be considered transnational because they transcend the duality of the past/place of origin and the present/place of residence. Through an example of an Iranian festival that is the creation of diaspora, I intend to show how national identity is detached from its assumed link to the nation state or ‘the country of origin’ and placed within a newly created imaginary space of a nation within a nation.     

当前大学生社会实践评价工作的现状及对策浅析

加强大学生社会实践评价体系的构建对推动大学生社会实践工作的健康、有序的发展具有十分重要的促进作用。本文尝试针对当前大学生社会实践评价工作存在的主要问题提出相应的对策以供参考。     

浙江省中小企业伦理道德状况调查报告

本报告在实证调查的基础上,对浙江省中小企业的伦理道德状况作了理论分析。报告认为,浙江省中小企业的伦理道德总体上呈现出良性的发展态势,但也存在诸多不足。报告建议政府有关部门加大对中小企业进行伦理道德教育的力度,强化中小企业在纳税、环保、科技创新等方面的法律意识、道德意识,并为中小企业的伦理道德建设营造良好的外部环境。中小企业自身则应加强伦理道德建设的自觉性和自愿性,并注意发挥工会、党团组织、职工代表大会在企业伦理道德建设过程中的作用。     

大学数学教育在创新人才培养中的地位和作用

建设创新型国家是党中央作出的事关具有中国特色社会主义建设全局的重大战略决策。理性剖析了当前大学数学教育喜忧参半的现状和乐观积极的发展趋势;通过对大学数学教育与创新人才培养的内在联系的阐述,提出大学数学教育在培养学生的创新意识和创新能力方面具有独特的地位和难以替代的重要作用;号召广大数学教育工作者进一步提高认识,以高度的责任感积极投身于数学教育的宏伟事业中去,为建设创新型国家和中华民族的伟大复兴作出自己应有的贡献。     

依附性支配：农村妇女家庭地位变迁的一种解释框架——基于辽东地区幸福村的实地调查

本文根据辽东地区幸福村的调查,首先呈现出当前农村妇女在家庭权力、婚姻自主性等家庭地位方面的现状,进而阐述与分析了闲适在家并在经济上依附于男性的农村妇女,却获得支配性的家庭地位的悖论性。其原因是在既有的婚姻市场男女比例失衡的情况下,通过村庄的经济分化与夫妻情感需求增强两种机制的作用下形成的。笔者提出了＂依附性支配＂的概念作为当前农村妇女家庭地位变迁的一种解释框架,补充了已有的多从农村妇女自身经济能力的提高与参与社会性的大生产来理解这种现象的研究视角。
