当前影响我国公民政治社会化的宏观因素分析

公民政治社会化问题是当代政治学领域中一个亟待深入研究的前沿课题。影响和制约我国公民在社会转型中政治社会化的宏观因素主要有三个方面 ,即政治因素、经济因素和文化因素。其中 ,政治因素是关键性的因素 ,经济因素则是基础性因素 ,而文化因素作为对我国公民的政治思想意识起直接作用的因素 ,对我国公民在社会转型中的政治社会化起着决定性的作用。这三个方面的因素对我国公民的政治社会化的影响起到了综合性的作用。客观系统地分析影响我国公民政治社会化的宏观因素 ,是社会转型中完善我国公民政治社会化对策的理论与现实依据     

What Management Style is Considered Best for a Team-Based Organization and Why?

The paper reviews various styles of management that are commonly employed for managing team-based programs and projects in many manufacturing industries. It analyzes the characteristics of each style with respect to the needs for decomposing the goals into smaller chunks in a team-based organization or in a program. Three styles of management were considered at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) for this analysis. Based on the experiences of applying each style during various team-based programs at EDS, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, and Unigraphics Solutions accounts and from the varying degree of success achieved then, the paper points out which management style is well suited for managing this decomposed set of goals and why. It then analyzes which style is best suited for managing a team-based organization. As W. Edward Deming said in his book The New Economics, setting a particular numerical goal accomplishes nothing. Setting a method to achieve a common set of consistent goals is important. Clear and consistent set of decomposed goals provides a `constancy-of-purpose.' Without a common subset of consistent goals identified for each concurrent team (decomposed from its original sets), the product development teams do not know what is expected from each other and how to accomplish the tasks concurrently. Finally, the paper discusses why a management style, which is based on a set of constancy-of-purpose (governing) principles, is considered superior for managing a team-based organization.

Toward the Importance of Nonprofit Brand Equity

Various brand evaluation approaches assess the value and equity of for‐profit brands; accordant approaches for nonprofit brands, however, have been limited, and there is disagreement on what makes up a strong brand in the nonprofit sector. In response, this article provides insights into the conceptualization and operationalization of stakeholder‐based nonprofit brand equity and derives an initial measurement index. We conceptualize nonprofit brand equity as having three dimensions—nonprofit brand awareness, nonprofit brand trust, and nonprofit brand commitment—thereby empirically investigating trust in nonprofit brand equity building for the first time. The methodological procedure for building the index is based on partial least squares path modeling, and we draw on a sample of forty brands (N = 3,617 brand evaluations) identified as some of the best‐known nonprofit brands in Germany. Applying the index yields some of the strongest German nonprofit brands; for example, German Red Cross has by far the highest value of brand equity, followed by Aktion Mensch and UNICEF. The nonprofit brand equity index provides the basis for nonprofit managers to compare their brands’ performance over time and develop accordant branding strategies; it can be also used by organizations from other countries.     

Institutionalizing Public Scholarship: Lessons from Feminism and Symbolic Interactionism

This article contributes to recent debates about public sociology by considering the potential harmful consequences of seeking legitimacy for committed scholarship within academic institutions. After discussing public scholarship's place within the corporate university, we reflect on how institutionalizing “scholarship with commitment” might create routine practices and standardized expectations that could discourage organic interactions with various publics. Feminism's role in the academy exemplifies the consequences of institutionalizing committed scholarship. Drawing on insights from feminist and symbolic interactionist traditions and writing from a Canadian perspective, we discuss promising strategies for resisting the stagnation and/or habitualization of public and committed scholarship.

Neoliberal transitions: the Santiago general cemetery and the affective economies of counter-revolution

Anchored in the Santiago General Cemetery, this essay analyses the management of revolutionary memory under neoliberalism. Juxtaposing the gravesites of Salvador Allende and Víctor Jara, I theorise the gendered and racialised processes through which collective dreams for justice – and even radical politics themselves – come to be co-opted under neoliberal capitalism. If in Jara’s grave we see the state performing the part of the hyper-masculine disciplinarian father, I argue, in Allende’s grave we witness the state as the begrudgingly accepting father, ready to take in the repentant children back into the nation, in exchange for obedience. Finally, I turn to alternative memorialisation practices performed by the nation’s discontents, and namely ongoing struggles for collective self-determination and decolonisation. Ultimately, I situate critiques of neoliberalism in Chile in dialogue with intersectional queer and transnational feminist scholarship on the seductive logics of neoliberalism – and emergent forms of justice that appear just beyond its purview.
