Gaia理论与绿色发展观

Gaia理论是经生态学理论和实践部分证实的学说。Gaia理论中蕴含的部分基础理论在一定程度上为绿色发展观的形成提供了理论和实践基础。Gaia理论强调生物对地球的反作用、生物与环境之间的平等关系、地球生态系统向着先进性的方向进化、生态系统的自我调节能力等基本理论。这些理论同绿色发展观又具有千丝万缕的联系，它不但能够证实绿色发展观在现阶段的可行性和必要性，同时证明了绿色发展观在现阶段具有其本身的时代性和先进性。     

毛泽东生态文明思想的当代启示

毛泽东的生态文明思想主要表现为水利建设、人口控制、环境保护三个方面。作为中国生态文明建设事业的开创者和奠基人，毛泽东在中国的生态保护和建设方面做出了显著的贡献，这对于后期中国生态文明的发展具有重要而深远的引导作用和现实意义，可以说毛泽东的生态文明思想是科学生态文明观的雏形。     

Intergenerational Interaction Through Reminiscence Processes

Abstract

Introduction: The interest in intergenerational programmes is increasing. However, there is a need for evaluation and the development of a theoretical framework to explain the mechanism of changes in attitudes of participants which is the purpose of this paper.

Method: From July to December 2002 an intergenerational intervention was conducted with 111 students and 32 elders, who shared their life stories during class time. A Focus group technique was used to evaluate the programme and a theoretical framework was developed to explain the mechanism of changes in attitudes of adolescents towards elders and the attitudes of elders towards adolescents.

Results: The results showed that stereotypes and prejudice exist, from young people towards elders and from elders towards young ones. The theoretical framework developed showed why and how participants changed their views towards each other in an intergenerational programme using reminiscence processes as a means of interaction.

Conclusion: Although the study had some limitations, it was valuable in showing that older people had some negative images of adolescents. It also showed why and how participants changed their view towards each other.     

The Cucconi Test for Location-scale Alternatives in Application to Asymmetric Hydrological Variables

To identify location-scale trends, which environmental data often exhibit, location-scale tests have to be addressed. The aim of this article was to estimate size and power of the Cucconi rank-based test when applied to various skewed distributions, typical in hydrology. Results of the Monte Carlo simulation revealed great power for series with low coefficient of variation, time of change close to the middle, not very heavy tail, and with length of at least 60. Comparison to the Lepage test discovered larger usefulness of the Cucconi test for short series and change close to the middle. Several practical applications were presented.     

明清时期豫西地区环境恶化与生态保护研究

明清时期,豫西地区有大量人口涌入,西部山区得到深入开发。在开发同时,生态环境逐步恶化,主要表现为森林植被资源的破坏和动物多样性的减少。由此而引发的环境形势不容乐观,各种有意识和无意识的环境回归与重建,在某种程度上弥补了生态环境恶化造成的严重后果。

Reviewing performance: an analysis of the structure and functions of performance management reviews

This article proposes an analytical framework for conceptualising performance management reviews (PMRs). Drawing on multiple literatures, the article applies Pettigrew et al.'s (Pettigrew, A., Whipp R., and Rosenfield R., 1989. Competitiveness and the management of strategic change processes. In: A. Francis, and P.K.M. Tharakan, eds. The competitiveness of European industry: country policies and company strategies. London: Routledge) framework to develop our understanding of the context, process and content of PMR. The process elements of PMRs are the levers for managerial intervention as they determine the immediate outcome of PMR. They accomplish this task by acting on the content elements, transforming the subject of PMR into specific outcomes. The scope of the intervention, however, is constrained by factors in the organisation's context. This framework sheds light on various functions of PMRs, most notably strategy implementation.     

Challenges to Aging in Place: Understanding Home Maintenance Difficulties

Age-related declines in capabilities may compromise older adults’ ability to maintain their homes, threatening successful aging in place. Structured interviews were conducted with 44 independently living older adults (mean age = 76.1, standard deviation = 4.7) to discuss difficult home maintenance tasks and how they managed those tasks. Solutions to managing difficulties were categorized as person-related or environment-related. The majority (85%) of responses were person-related solutions. An understanding of the specific challenges that older adults face in maintaining their homes can guide redesign efforts and interventions to effectively support older adults’ desire to age in place.

在空间上,桃花源是一个封闭自守、绝不与外交通的世界;在时间上,桃花源中的时间如果不说是停滞的,也该是＂循环＂的,周而复始的。桃花源正是由于守护了自己的时间与空间,才成了与外面截然不同的另一个世界。将莫尔、培根们的＂乌托邦＂对照陶渊明的＂桃花源＂,莫尔、培根的社会理想尽管各有侧重,但都是建立在柏拉图的《理想国》的理性主义传统之中的;陶渊明的桃花源则是建立在老庄哲学的社会理想之中的,如果还要将其称为乌托邦,那么西方莫尔、培根的社会理想是一种＂光明的＂、＂进取的＂的乌托邦,东方陶渊明的桃花源则是一种＂幽晦的＂、＂退隐的＂古典的乌托邦。20世纪以来日渐强化的＂反乌托邦＂运动以挖苦、嘲弄、批判的方式表达了对于启蒙主义乌托邦的＂反拨＂,却有意无意地表达了对于自然生态、社会生态、精神生态的深切关怀。陶渊明的古典乌托邦思想在当今地球人类面临的生态时代,仍然具有深刻的启发性及不可忽视的现实意义。
