哈佛大学本科课程体系变迁的经验启示

哈佛大学的发展距今已有300多年的历史,在20世纪成为世界大学的典范。哈佛本科教学的课程体系通过4次较大的变革逐渐完善起来,形成了一个较为完整、科学的体系。分析研究哈佛大学本科课程体系的变革经验,对中国高等学校本科教学计划的修订、课程体系的改革具有重要的借鉴意义。

高校党建对于大学生政治认同的价值——兼论高校党建创新的发展方向

高校党建的使命在于通过多种政治社会化的途径提升大学生的政治认同感。面对社会转型期国情、世情的剧烈变化,以及大学生的自身特点,高校党建要担当起大学生形成接续性政治认同的重任,就要遵循党建层次高水平化、党建方式多样化、党建策略精神化和党建过程动态化的要求,充分发挥自身所具有的教育导向、传播、整合、约束、服务等各项功能,使大学生逐渐形成对执政党执政能力、意识形态、政治秩序、政治制度和执政党宗旨的政治认同。为此,高校党建的未来发展方向应该是将文化建设作为切入点,重视党建的制度化建设,并加强党建的民主化建设。     

乡村治理变迁下的农村社会组织功能研究——基于甘肃省Z县X村扶贫互助合作组织的个案

改革开放30年,在市场经济不断渗入和农村土地制度调整的背景下,农村的社会结构发生了很大变化。多中心的乡村治理格局正在成为中国农村社会公共事务管理的主要方式。农村社会组织作为治理活动中的重要主体,在推动农民集体行动和孕育基层民主等方面发挥着关键性的作用。在简要回顾乡村治理变迁历史过程的基础上,结合西北地区一个典型的乡村组织个案,具体阐释农村社会组织在当代乡村治理过程中的社会功能。各类农村社会组织与农村党组织、村民个体等治理主体间合作协商是解决目前乡村社会治理困境的主要出路。     

村民自治:我国民主政治建设的特殊路径

民主政治建设是一种国家主导的民主制度建设与社会主义主导的社会民主培育的双向互动过程。80年代以来农村基层民主———村民自治的建设与发展不失为我国当代民主政治建设的一条特殊路径。经过二十多年的努力,村民自治在我国农村地区普及率不断上升,村民自治的内容得到进一步的丰富和发展,村民自治的规范化程度有了很大提高。村民自治在实践过程中仍然存在一些问题,只有解决了这些问题,村民自治才能进一步健康发展,能够使政治民主化在农村先行一步,成为现阶段中国民主政治建设的起点和突破口     

基层党组织有限介入：农村社区“两委”候选人的当选逻辑——基于政策文本分析

作为农村社区“两委”换届选举的关键步骤,农村社区“两委”候选人的产生备受关注。借助街道党组织社区“两委”候选人换届政策文本,勾勒出社区“两委”候选人在基层党组织设定的双重候选条件下的当选逻辑,并以fs-QCA定性比较分析法对社区“两委”候选人胜出资质进行检验。结果显示,良好群众基础是潜在候选胜出的必要条件,同时具备群众基础和政绩两要素是潜在候选人胜出的有效途径;仅凭借经济实力或宗族势力等资源禀赋并不能使其成为“两委”正式候选人;街道组织部门受政治稳定逻辑驱使,往往采取多样化策略减少社区选举“变数”。因此,基层党组织对农村社区“两委”选举过程的有限介入并非有损基层民主质量,相反,它使农村社区选举表现出有别于乡村选举的优良特质。     

从村民自治中透视转型期中国农村的公民权建设——以定县村民自治的权利调查为基础

本文采用在定县农村进行问卷调查取得实证资料的基础上,通过定量分析与定性分析相结合的方式,从法社会学的视角对村民自治中农村公民应然权利与实然权利之间的落差及对中国农村的公民权建设的剖析,揭示中国农村公民权的现状与存在的一些问题及其对中国未来发展的影响,探索中国未来农村公民权建设的模式与方案。     

I'm Not for Sale: Teaching About Human Trafficking

Even though slavery is illegal in all countries, it is still practiced in the form of human trafficking. In fact, there are about twenty-five million men, women, and children who are victims of human trafficking, a 150-billion-dollar industry that affects every country across the globe. Modern communications, such as the Internet and cell phones, exacerbate the problem of human trafficking and law enforcement faces enormous challenges in detecting, arresting, and prosecuting human traffickers. Victims, fifty percent of whom are children, are sold into prostitution, forced marriages, and forced labor in sweatshops, agriculture, and mining. Additionally, some victims are forced into armed conflicts as children; others are killed and their organs are harvested and sold on the black market. It is estimated that 50,000 victims are brought into the United States annually. Human trafficking is a moral outrage, as well as a violation of American and international law. Social studies education must teach about this egregious human rights violation and encourage students to become involved in stopping this modern-day slavery. By incorporating lessons into their curricula, all teachers can help produce young citizens dedicated to protecting human rights for all people.     

Deliberative democracy in the real world,the contribution of the capability approach

ABSTRACT

Drawing on Amartya Sen’s writings, this article presents the capability approach to democracy and shows its relevance for the sociological reflection and research on democratic processes conceived as ways to convert individual preferences into collective norms or decisions. Two moments are key in this respect: the formation of individual preferences and their translation into collective norms in the course of public debates. The initial sections present Sen’s conception of democracy, particularly emphasizing its articulation with the notions of ‘positional objectivity’ and ‘conversion’. Then, this conception is compared with two other mechanisms that may be used to coordinate individual decisions or preferences, namely the market and idealistic views on deliberative democracy. The article emphasizes how the capability approach departs from these two conceptions with regard to the two key concepts of capacity to aspire and capability for voice. The final section shows how Sen’s notion of democracy may open up a new field for research, namely the sociological investigation of the informational (or knowledge) basis of democracy.
