The aim of this qualitative study was to study how older people experience aging and reflect on their need for care in the Swedish welfare context. Sixteen people were interviewed, aged between 77 and 92 years. Staying healthy and independent in their everyday lives were prized values for the informants. Some brushed aside thoughts of being in need of home help services in the future and others had a more reflecting attitude. The informants did not want to burden either society or their children. Through mass media and the experiences of their neighbours, they had gained a negative impression of eldercare. They were uncertain if there would be any helping hand of good quality in the future. On the other hand, informants who already had home help thought that it was helping them to maintain independence in everyday life and they were also satisfied with the help they received.  相似文献

Three hundred and five traditional college students and 159 baby boomers (40–55 years old) in China participated in the study with Kogan’s Attitude toward Old People [Kogan (1961) Journal of Abnormal and Social Psychology, 62(1), 44–54] being used. Results from ANOVA showed overall, baby boomers held more positive attitudes toward older people than college students. There was a significant interaction effect between cohorts and family income; that is, the lower family income group in both samples did not differ significantly from each other, it was in the higher family income group that difference was revealed. Baby Boomers in the higher family income group held more positive attitudes toward older people than students in the same family income group. Gender was not a significant factor in either sample. Stepwise regression analyses revealed that family income was a significant predictor of attitude in the Baby Boomer sample, but not in the college student sample.  相似文献

我国现行突发公共卫生事件应对中,“行政主导型”救助模式已经无法满足受害者的需求。由于我国目前的受害者赔偿尚处于摸索实践阶段,缺乏专门的赔偿法律法规支持,突发公共卫生事件的受害者往往难以获得及时和充分的补偿。文章分析我国突发公共卫生事件中受害者赔偿的缺陷问题,提出制定突发公共卫生事件受害者赔偿专门法规、建立市场化的救助机制与设立受害者心理救援机制的建议,实现受害者赔偿的法定化、规范化,完善受害者赔偿制度体系。  相似文献

老年犯罪人处遇应适用宽严相济的刑事政策。从刑事政策学角度探讨老年犯罪人处遇,不仅是刑事实体问题,也是刑事程序问题。然而,国内已有研究偏向从刑事实体角度分析老年犯罪人问题,却疏于从刑事程序角度讨论,因而难以有效回应实践。从刑事程序视野探索老年犯罪人处遇问题,借鉴域外老年犯罪人处遇研究经验,有助于完善我国老年犯罪人处遇制度。  相似文献

Recent changes in Finnish welfare policies have increased the need for family involvement in eldercare. This article uses qualitative interviews to study working adult daughters’ reasons for moving in with their parent(s). Coresidence was linked to the parents’ need for support, but also to the daughters’ life situations, family histories, the availability of welfare services, and cultural norms and values. The interviewees used the “familist” and “independent life” discourses in their speech. The familist discourse was used to argue for coresidence as a natural continuation of family traditions and life history, whereas the independent life discourse was used to legitimize the need for alternative care options and having a home of their own.  相似文献

This qualitative study reports on the career experiences of older professional women using consensual qualitative research. Thirteen women over age 50 were interviewed regarding the influences of gender and age on work. In general, all participants reported career adaptability, and many participants also reported specific subthemes of career adaptability (i.e., concern, control, curiosity, and confidence) as resources. These subthemes denote participants' future orientation, self‐discipline as evidenced by their conscientiousness in career decisions, active information seeking, and certitude that they have the ability to solve career‐related problems. Relationships with colleagues were also considered critical, and participants acknowledged the benefits and drawbacks of being a woman and being older. These women were able to achieve flexibility and autonomy in their work and spoke about the importance of work–family balance and boundaries. Practitioners are encouraged to consider how career adaptability is manifested within the interplay between gender and age, because this can influence career counseling with older women.  相似文献
