论民族文化特殊词语的特点及翻译方法

随着国与国之间跨文化交流的深入,对少数民族文化的研究、整理和介绍也随之增加。翻译作为文化交流的桥梁,在跨文化交际中起着重要的作用。在汉英翻译实践中,民族文化中的特殊词语及其汉英翻译有哪些特点,在具体的翻译操作中又有哪些值得注意的问题?本文从技术层面上以云南民族特有事物及特殊词语的翻译为例,作了初步的探讨。研究表明,首先应该重视调查研究的方法,翻译者应该成为民族文化的研究者;其次,多采用音译、意译、解释性翻译、以及描述的方法至关重要;再次,对目的语读者要有一个基本的分析判断;最后,要从外籍人士的原著中吸取精华。

人大专门委员会是全国人大和地方各级人大的工作机构。在新形势下,加强市人大专门委员会工作和建设的研究,是强化国家地方权力机关对“一府两院”依法行政和民主法制监督的迫切需要,是坚持和完善人民代表大会制度,促进经济社会全面发展的需要,是推进社会主义政治制度自我完善和发展一项不容忽视的任务。     

“需要层次论”与高校思想政治工作

心理学家马斯洛认为人的需要共分为五个层次,并由低级需要向高级需要递进.辩证的运用这一理论,重视并合理满足高校师生的需要,以此达到激励作用,提高思想政治工作的实效性,是我们应该"拿来"并加以研究的课题.     

民国时期特种教育在凉山彝区的组织与活动

民国时期,部分彝族子弟求生存和谋发展的愿望被国民党军统组织所利用,他们以招收成都军校学生为幌子,在“乐西公路”筑训班采取貌似自愿报名的公开方式,通过精挑细选和隐瞒真实信息等手段,将不明真相的彝族学员带到重庆,送入国民党中央警官学校特种警察训练班,企图培养具有跨文化能力的地方军政协助人。但受特定时间、空间、文化的影响,军统机构在彝区的组织、活动基本尚未成熟即夭折。梳理和呈现这一史事,能让读者从一个特殊视角了解民国时期所谓“独立倮倮”与汉区,乃至与中国以外的世界之间实际存在千丝万缕,或直接或间接的复杂联系;看到在对于制度的顺从与抗争和身份的认同等方面,彝人个体实际仍有主观能动的余地。由此,提示读者理解中国内地边疆“中间圈”的彝区在现代化进程中之曲折经历,包括当事人的博弈策略及后果。

文章从建设特色文化大省的视角 ,将瞿昙寺独特的建筑风貌 ,历史和丰富的文物作为青海持色文化民族旅游的难得资源进行了新的探讨 ,并就瞿昙寺文物旅游的开发提出了自己的看法     

Adolescents' perspectives on relationships with grandparents: The contribution of adolescent, grandparent, and parent–grandparent relationship variables

There is limited research on adolescent–grandparent relationships, especially from the adolescent perspective and on large-scale samples. The study examined the associations between the adolescent–grandparent relationship (i.e., importance of, emotional closeness to, and respect for grandparents' views) and the characteristics of the adolescent, grandparent, and parent–grandparent relationship, as well as the interactions between several of these factors. It was based on a representative sample of 1478 students aged 11–16 from England and Wales who completed a structured questionnaire. Results supported the position that grandparents are a significant factor in the lives of adolescents. Findings of hierarchical regression analyses showed that more frequent contact, greater grandparent involvement, and better parent–grandparent relationships predicted adolescents' reports on higher levels of emotional closeness to, importance of, and respect for their closest grandparent's views. The interactions consistently emphasized the role of parents as gatekeepers of intergenerational exchange.     

Perceived Need for Home- and Community-Based Services: Experiences of Urban Chinese Older Adults With Functional Impairments

Guided by Cantor’s social care model, this study identified individual, family, and social support factors that influence urban older adults’ need for home- and community-based services, including medical and rehabilitation, instrumental care and support, and psychosocial services. The data were extracted from the Sample Survey on Aged Population in Urban/Rural China conducted by the China Research Center on Aging in 2006. Results from multiple logistic regression show that older adults’ need for medical and rehabilitation services is significantly related to instrumental activities of daily living, depression, not having filial children, friend support networks, and having a confidant. Older adults’ need for instrumental care and support is related to their educational attainment, financial strain, instrumental activities of daily living, not living with children, and friend support networks. Finally, older adults’ need for psychosocial services is significantly related to educational attainment, depression, not being married, friend support networks, and having a confidant. Implications for social service development are discussed.     

Grandparents providing care for grandchildren and employment status of grandparents in South Korea

This study examines the association between providing care for grandchildren and the economic status of grandparents, focusing on the employment status. This study asks two questions. First, is providing care for grandchildren related to Korean grandparents’ employment status? Second, are the intensities of providing care for grandchildren related to grandparents’ employment status? In examining these research questions, this study focuses on gender and caregiving intensity. The findings suggest that providing care for grandchildren was associated with Korean grandmothers’ employment status. In addition, there are different relationships between providing care for grandchildren and grandparents’ employment status according to the caregiving intensities.

Moving Ahead,Falling Apart,Losing Power: Three Narratives to the Development of Human Services

Scholars agree that we live in a society in which the lion’s share of human needs is supplied by formal organizations. This article deals with how society reached this situation and the challenges embedded in it. We will postulate that there are three basic narratives of human services, which we have named the progress, the social disintegration, and the power narrative. The narratives will be demonstrated through examples from the field of juvenile and adolescent mental health services. We claim that meaningful professional training in human services must expose students to the interpretations, insights, and possible directions for practice in light of each of the narratives.
