近代资本主义生产生活方式对中国传统慈善事业的影响——以北京为例

以交通、通讯、新闻舆论等为典型代表的近代西方资本主义生产与生活方式传入中国后，它们或便利救济物资的调配，或加速救助对象的区域流动，或监督与制约救济事务的运转，或宣传与流播新型慈善思想等，从整体上对中国传统慈善活动的近代转型发挥强大的刺激与推动作用。     

The Role of Family Income in the Intergenerational Association of AFDC Receipt

Daughters from low‐income families who did not receive Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) are compared to daughters from low‐income families who did receive assistance to better account for family income in the intergenerational association of AFDC. The research models the timing of a daughter's first birth and, for those who become mothers, the number of years a daughter receives any AFDC. Women whose families received AFDC during their childhood are more likely to receive AFDC as adults relative to those women whose families did not receive AFDC. Controlling for family income in a more careful and comprehensive way than past research explains part but not all of the effects of childhood AFDC receipt. Among daughters from chronically poor families, however, parental AFDC use is not associated with additional years of AFDC participation. Although the present research cannot confirm or deny a causal role for parental welfare use, the intergenerational transmission of financial resources does explain part of the intergenerational association of welfare use.     

社会网络对民间金融风险的作用——基于社会网络结构的理论与实证分析

社会网络对民间金融风险的影响已被广泛认可,但是,究竟什么样的网络结构有抑制风险的作用,什么样的网络结构有扩增风险的作用？以资金互助会为例,将互助会涉及的社会网络按结构特征分为单个会的会内网络和多个会的会间网络,研究可知：（1）越紧密的会内网络结构以及越大的网络规模越有利于民间金融风险的控制。（2）跨会网络具有抑制和扩增风险两种作用,它是协同监督和惩罚机制生效的基础,因而对风险具有控制作用,但这种作用只在中介成员为会首时才显著;同时,它也构成了风险传播的通道,导致资金被分散到多个会中,因而提升了系统性风险。     

温州商会的例外与不例外——中国公民社会的发展与挑战

温州商会研究已经成为中国公民社会范例研究的重要组成部分.近年来,温州商会不仅在数量上快速增长,而且在社会经济领域发挥着日益重要的作用.在当代中国的制度环境中,温州商会得以率先发展,较快发展,并取得较好的绩效,确实存在一些堪称"例外"的特殊经验.但是,温州商会发展的基本经验正确认了民间商会形成和发展的前提和条件,其存在的问题和挑战正体现出商会发展制度环境的限度及商会发展的过程性、阶段性.在当前,制度环境的改善将推动中国公民社会的发展.国家必须进一步转变对待公民社会的态度,创新社会管理体制,推动并激发社会发展.鉴于当代中国的地方政府在行为选择上有着较大的自主性空间,推进地方政府创新是改善中国公民社会制度环境的又一重要途径.     

高校社团对基层团组织的功能替代

在新时期里,高校基层团组织的传统工作模式受到了前所未有的挑战,其功能也呈现出明显弱化的迹象;而学生社团则在高校中蓬勃发展,甚至对团组织起到了某种程度上的“功能替代”作用。一种功能互补的趋势正在悄然形成中。     

Checkbooks in the Heartland: Change over Time in Voluntary Association Membership

Numerous scholars documented declines in America's social capital through the mid‐1990s but we do not know whether the trend has continued. Further, despite warnings by Robert Putnam and Theda Skocpol that the quality of Americans' voluntary association memberships has also deteriorated—moving from active, “face‐to‐face” memberships to passive, “checkbook” memberships—data have not been available to test this claim. In this article, we use both the Iowa Community Survey and the General Social Survey to explore the changing nature of voluntary association membership between 1994 and 2004. We demonstrate that not only are declines in voluntary association memberships continuing in the new century but there has been a shift in the intensity of voluntary association participation over time. We observe a decline in active membership over time and an increase in checkbook membership over time. These findings provide support for Putnam's claim that checkbook membership is increasing at the expense of more active types of memberships.     

行业协会——从制度经济学视角的解读

如果考虑到现实世界中的交易费用和信息的问题,无论是公共还是私人部门都将面临交易成本,委托代理和集体行动的困境,现实表明行业协会作为一种制度安排能够有效解决上述问题,本文指出行业协会有助于财产权利的实施和监督,并能提供公共服务,协调协会会员企业之间的冲突和提供人员培训,上述功能的实施则与选择性激励,会员密度,会员之间的协调机制和职员与会员之间的关系有关.     

商会的产生机理:一个利他主义的解释

对于只提供集体公共产品的商会来说,如果行业内的企业都是利己主义者,且加入商会完全自愿,则"搭便车"的行为会使得集体行动无法实现,商会的发生机制亦将成为难解之迷。假如行业中存在利他主义的企业,其利他行为将使其他企业意识到行业的共同利益,从而抑制各自的机会主义倾向。利他主义者的存在起到了一种"凝结核"的作用,他们除了付出物质上的代价去增进行业的共同利益外,还会付出时间和精力去游说其他企业,推动行业的集体行动。多数行业的市场结构是不完全竞争的,企业规模参差不齐,一些规模较大的企业对于通过集体行动来获得合作剩余有着更强烈的需求,为了增进自身利益和整个集团的利益,这些规模较大的企业会成为商会的发起人。     

Hometown associations and the micropolitics of transnational community development

This article argues that a closer inspection of the historical trajectories and the evolving micropolitics of hometown associations (HTAs) expands our understanding of how community development is practised across borders. Drawing from six years of ethnographic, multi-sited fieldwork carried out in the Dominican Republic and the United States, focusing on the experience of three Dominican HTAs, the evidence presented demonstrates how working dynamics and decision-making responsibilities between internal, international, and non-migrant HTA members shift over time, and identifies the organisational strategies employed to achieve transnational cooperation for community development. The ethnographic data also highlight and explain how communal legacies based on home country agrarian traditions laid the groundwork for future transnational development practices.
