Latin hypercube sampling with multidimensional uniformity

Complex models can only be realized a limited number of times due to large computational requirements. Methods exist for generating input parameters for model realizations including Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) and Latin hypercube sampling (LHS). Recent algorithms such as maximinLHS seek to maximize the minimum distance between model inputs in the multivariate space. A novel extension of Latin hypercube sampling (LHSMDU) for multivariate models is developed here that increases the multidimensional uniformity of the input parameters through sequential realization elimination. Correlations are considered in the LHSMDU sampling matrix using a Cholesky decomposition of the correlation matrix. Computer code implementing the proposed algorithm supplements this article. A simulation study comparing MCS, LHS, maximinLHS and LHSMDU demonstrates that increased multidimensional uniformity can significantly improve realization efficiency and that LHSMDU is effective for large multivariate problems.

Complete moment convergence and Lr convergence for asymptotically almost negatively associated random variables

In this paper, we investigate the complete moment convergence and L_r convergence for maximal partial sums of asymptotically almost negatively associated random variables under some general conditions. The results obtained in the paper generalize some corresponding ones for negatively associated random variables.

基于隐喻理论，从维度、轴向和方向角度，通过量性分析和质性分析发现，西班牙语空间性状的时间映射遵循三条共性制约规律:“一维>三维>二维，单维>跨维”维度制约规律、“横轴>纵轴，单轴>跨轴”轴向制约规律和“无方向>有方向”方向制约规律。个性制约表现为:句法功能制约和语义选择制约。以上映射制约特质主要源自时空相似性和民族思维特性的互洽协同。     

Global employment and decent jobs, 2010–2030: The forces of demography and automation

Globally, an estimated 734 million jobs will be required between 2010 and 2030 to accommodate recent and ongoing demographic shifts, account for plausible changes in labour force participation rates, and achieve target unemployment rates of at or below 4 per cent for adults and at or below 8 per cent for youth. The facts that most new jobs will be required in countries where “decent” jobs are less prevalent and workers in many occupations are increasingly subject to risks of automation further compound the challenge of job creation, which is already quite sizable in historical perspective. Failure to create the jobs that are needed through 2030 would put currently operative social security systems under pressure and undermine efforts to guarantee the national social protection floors enshrined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Precise large deviations for the difference of two sums of END random variables with heavy tails

Assume that there are two types of insurance contracts in an insurance company, and the ith related claims are denoted by {X_ij, j ? 1}, i = 1, 2. In this article, the asymptotic behaviors of precise large deviations for non random difference ∑^n₁(t)_{j = 1}X_1j ? ∑^n₂(t)_{j = 1}X_2j and random difference ∑^N₁(t)_{j = 1}X_1j ? ∑^N₂(t)_{j = 1}X_2j are investigated, and under several assumptions, some corresponding asymptotic formulas are obtained.
