我国学位授予权权能法理研究

学位授予的特点决定学位授予权是一种行政权力与学术权力共同作用的行政权。论文答辩委员会是相对独立的第三方,只对论文质量负责,学位评定委员会与论文答辩委员会是专业评价的委托关系。学位评定委员会把专属于自己的学位评定权力让渡给了学位评定分委员会,两者地位相等,责权一致,不存在隶属或者领导与被领导关系。“经全体成员过半数通过”是以所有委员为计算依据,而不是实到委员的投票数为依据。学位评定过程中不应投弃权票,或者通过技术设计避免弃权票难题,在计票时弃权票不应计算了总票数之内。司法介入学位评定有其必要性,但司法审查仅限除纯学术评价内容之外的其他事项,还应允许学位申请人通过多种途径进行救济。     

《学术探索》前身《学术研究》与云南马克思主义史学的建立

《学术研究》创办于1961年7月,至1965年停刊,是20世纪60年代云南一份长期、持续对外发行的学术刊物。当时,大陆地区民国时期发行的学术刊物大都处于停办状态,新创刊的学术杂志屈指可数。《学术研究》的创办,为国内史学界发表最新研究成果和进行学术交流提供了重要平台,对外展示了云南的学术研究成果,成为省内外学者交流的桥梁,对中青年学者的培养发挥了积极作用,促进了马克思主义史学在云南的建立和发展。     

A Review of Laura S. Young's Bookbinding & Conservation by Hand: A Working Guide

Abstract

University librarians in China face many of the same challenges related to serials management that confront librarians in the United States. The authors discuss the importance for librarians in the United States, especially those working with serials, to establish and build ties with librarians in other countries, such as China. Benefits of an exchange could include sharing information about best practices, exchange of serial materials, and working together on mutually advantageous projects. Acknowledging the growing interest in international library exchange programs, the authors relate their own institution's efforts to build international ties with Fudan University in Shanghai, China, and Shaanxi Normal University in Xi'an, China. In establishing these ties, the authors have traveled to China and interviewed librarians about serials acquisition, processing, and management.     

Effectively Evaluating the Accessibility of Electronic Monographs Using VPATs and Other Resources at the College of Staten Island Library- CUNY

Abstract

This study, building upon previous research work at the College of Staten Island (CSI) library, attempts to evaluate the accessibility of select digital monograph platforms and file formats utilized at the City University of New York (CUNY). The usability of CSI library’s locally developed ER-ACT tool to assist librarians with limited technical knowledge to review VPATs and to perform simple testing was also evaluated with challenges and successes reported. It was determined that the use of color-coded results in this study can help identify serious accessibility issues within ebooks and to communicate the results within libraries to assist with collection development decision-making. The study also includes a review of new court rulings related to accessibility issues in higher education and discusses where accessibility staffing reports in terms of job roles and duties held by university professionals. The testing of the accessibility of library ebooks, with various accessibility tools, are reviewed within the context of Section 508 revisions and new VPAT standards.     

“He’s Not Good at Sensing That Look That Says,I’m Drowning Here!” Academic Mothers’ Perceptions of Spousal Support

Abstract

Research consistently shows that, regardless of increased parental involvement in child-rearing over the last few decades, the ‘lion’s share’ of childcare and housework is still undertaken by women rather than men. Academia is known to have no fixed working hours as such. As a result, the pressure on academic mothers tends to be inflated, and this has repercussions on women’s promotional paths, publishing outcomes and general professional and personal well-being. The positive effect of working women having spousal support is well documented in many employment areas. This paper looks at perceived spousal support which academic mothers, living and working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), report. While some of the women did report their spouses to be supportive, this was often theoretical rather than practical. The ways in which this spousal support situation has affected the academic mothers’ lives is discussed.     

Scholarly Communications Training: Professional Development for the Next Generation of Scholars

Abstract

Many campuses are seeing increased needs for support in scholarly communications areas such as open access, research identity management, scholarship metrics, and related topics. This article discusses a professional development program that addresses scholarly communications needs for online and in-person graduate students and faculty at UNC Greensboro (UNCG), through a collaborative, interdepartmental effort that brings together librarians from the departments of Research, Outreach, and Instruction (ROI) and Technical Services. The authors provide a brief overview of the literature related to scholarly communications needs and training in academic libraries and discuss the UNCG program’s inception, modules, format, assessment, and future directions.     

作为宪法未列举权利的学术自由——美国最高法院的判例与法理

学术自由是否是一个法律概念、一项法定权利,历来是一个问题.在美国法上,学术自由作为大学和教师管理核心学术事务的权利,是一项由最高法院创制的宪法未列举权利.美国早期的学术自由依附于契约权利,体现了一种大学内部政策,即大学管理者在规章制度范围内通过签订契约而赋予教师的自由权.在“学术自由第一案”——Sweezy案——中,最高法院援引宪法第一修正案规定的言论自由权,将学术自由提升为一项值得宪法保护的价值,并指出其基本内涵是自主决定“谁来教、教什么、怎么教、谁被教”;在Keyishian判决中,法院迸一步明确学术自由是“第一修正案的特殊关注”,将其纳入了宪法权利话语体系之中.至Grutter判决,最高法院肯定了在高等教育领域,学术自由是一项独立的、未列举的宪法权利,并可先于其他宪法权利受到保护.相应地,对大学学术性事务的决定,法院必须在宪法规定的范围内给予尊重;尊重的程度,取决于决定是由什么样的主体做出的、需多大程度的学术技能、意识形态中立与否以及是否危害到了别的权利.

朱次琦临终前自焚所著与简朝亮重塑朱次琦经师人师的形象,传承朱次琦的学说与简朝亮学说的断裂,既反映朱次琦、简朝亮师徒二人的形不离影,更体现洞识时代前行方向的重要性.     

学术用途英汉语对比研究（1991—2020）：回顾、现状与展望

学术用途英汉语对比研究在英汉对比视角下讨论学术文本中语言和文化的关系,是对比修辞学和学术用途英汉语研究交叉形成的新兴研究领域。通过回顾发表于1991年至2020年期间的研究论文,介绍学术用途英汉语对比研究的发展背景和前沿动态,特别是该领域的主要研究方法、研究对象、关键结论和研究难点。学术用途英汉语对比研究最初聚焦于语篇结构,后来转向人际意义的实现方式,多数采用对比修辞学、体裁分析和语料库方法,描述英汉学术文本的结构和词语特征异同,分析语言、文化、写作策略等影响因素。经预测,学术用途英汉语对比研究未来的发展方向可能在英汉差异原因解释、语料库规模和学科扩充、短语特征对比、定性定量相结合等方面。     

非英语专业研究生学术英语写作能力的培养

明晰学术英语与学术英语写作、学术能力与学术写作能力的概念区别;综述国内外几十年来的学术英语写作能力的培养研究;提出对非英语专业研究生学术英语写作能力的培养模式：以学术阅读带动学术写作能力的提高,以体裁分析理论为基础的互动学习,写作技能训练与研究生专业知识相结合,面授知识与网络自主学习相结合。
