The arts have been integral to the human experience fostering innovation in social arrangements, strengthening group cohesion, and merging esthetics with the utilitarian properties of technology. For intervention design research in the human services the arts can harness innovation and creativity in meeting human needs and addressing social issues. Given their capacities to stimulate expression of first person experience through interpretative strategies, the arts can equip people and groups, including researchers, with opportunities to express primary experiential knowledge through creative means, portray useful ways of meeting human needs, educate others about the social issues people experience, and formulate intervention strategies or even models to address the causes and consequences of those issues.In this paper, the authors discuss how the arts can inform and deepen human service intervention design and development and, as a result, advance innovation in the human services. They offer a rationale supporting the inclusion of the arts in the design of human service interventions, examine the contributions of the arts to the formulation of intervention concept and developmental research to further improve interventions, and consider how the arts can advance the reflexivity of intervention designers. The authors draw implications for how researchers can position the arts in the nine steps of intervention design and development the authors offer in this paper.  相似文献

This article reports the findings of a study that explored factors affecting the choice to graduate from social work made by active students in one of the three social work departments in Greece. Research focused mainly on structural factors (students' socio-economic background and demographic characteristics, the educational system and the system of admission to higher education). It also touched briefly upon students' prevailing work values. Findings indicate that students' socio-economic background and the educational system's structure play a significant role in their choice to graduate from social work. These structural factors seem to have caused their educational/ occupational choice to be a rather limited one, since approximately 30% of the students decided to graduate as a form of compromise. Students rated intrinsic work values highly, which is consistent with prior research findings.  相似文献

Contemporary psychoanalysis is a multisensory collaboration between patient and analyst that is deeply compatible with core social work values. It is a process requiring creative ways of listening and responding to facilitate new understanding and transformation. This report proposes that dedicated artistic pursuit serves to nurture and expand the empathic capacity of the clinical social worker. The author’s synchronous study of partnered dance and training in psychoanalysis offers an example of the arts as a model and parallel process of healing as well as a source of restorative and generative functions.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

This paper explores the purposeful use of performance in an arts-based activity group that is rooted in social group work. It identifies the presence of three interconnected purposes: (1) a skill-acquisition purpose, (2) a performance-based purpose, and (3) a socioemotional purpose. This three-fold purpose introduces certain challenges throughout the life of the group, including the worker's negotiation of her role and the balance of task and process. The paper also discusses the benefits of the task-oriented goal of performance in the context of social group work. Illustrations from a co-ed pre-adolescent dance group are provided throughout the paper.  相似文献

薛中离是岭南王学最主要的开创者和代表人物,目前关于薛中离著作的刊印和保存情况,最细致深入的考订莫过于饶锷(其子饶宗颐补订)《潮州艺文志》。但由于此书成书已久,对部分中离著作未能收入,亦不可能涉及近年出版的大型丛书如"续修四库全书"、四库存目丛书"中收录的中离著作情况,而且,该书对薛氏个别著作的考订和判断也值得进一步商榷。在《潮州艺文志》的基础上,对薛中离著作的刊印和保存情况做出详细说明,并对部分著作的情况加以辨析。  相似文献
