英国马克思主义研究的新趋势

汪行福通过对英国马克思主义发展趋势的观察表明,在当代一切重大问题上,马克思主义从未缺场,它仍然是我们这个时代确立进步和解放坐标的思想基础。王金林认为,近期美国马克思主义研究呈现出一个值得关注的新动向:一方面,一些理论家坚持把阶级分析方法贯彻到各自的研究领域当中,从而彰显出马克思主义阶级立场对于把握当代社会现实的重要性;另一方面,一些理论家则从新社会运动与激进理论语境出发解构阶级立场,从而试图在一种新的基础上重构马克思主义的批判性。王凤才认为,德国马克思主义研究呈现出四个特点:一是以马克思主义的"反思.批判.创新"为主题;二是跨学科、多层面、整体地研究马克思主义;三是以广义理解的马克思主义为标尺强烈关注现实问题;四是缺乏系统的马克思主义理论和统一的马克思主义观念。吴猛认为,法国马克思主义的研究主要在五个方面涌现出了一批值得注意的研究成果,即在文本的重新解读中探求马克思主义的当代意义、异化理论及其现实意义、新自由主义批判、马克思主义与当代资本主义现实、当代资本主义的前途与共产主义。     

Making Bengali Brick Lane: claiming and contesting space in East London

Based on a recent empirical project on 'the Bengal diaspora', the paper explores the construction and contestation of meanings around the iconic East London street, Brick Lane. Taking the 2006 protests around the film Brick Lane as its starting point, the paper draws on original interviews conducted in 2008 with a range of Bengali community representatives, to examine the narratives of space, community and belonging that emerge around the idea of Brick Lane as the 'cultural heartland' of the British Bangladeshi community. By exploring the representation, production and contestation of 'social space' through everyday practices, the paper engages with and contests the representation of minority ethnic 'communities' in the context of contemporary multicultural London and examines the process of 'claiming' and 'making' space in East London. In so doing, the paper contributes to a critical tradition that challenges essentialising and pathologizing accounts of ethnic communities and racialized spaces, or that places them outside of broader social and historical processes - redolent, for example, in contemporary discussions about 'parallel lives' or 'the clash of civilizations'. By contrast, this paper views social space as made through movement and narration, with a particular emphasis on the social agency of local Bengali inhabitants and the multiple meanings that emerge from within this 'imagined community'. However, rather than simply stressing the unfinished and processual nature of spatial meanings, the paper insists on the historical, embodied and affective dimensions of such meaning making, and a reckoning with the broader social and political landscape within which such meanings take shape. The focus on Brick Lane provides an empirically rich, geographically and historically located lens through which to explore the complex role of ethnicity as a marker of social space and of spatial practices of resistance and identity. By exploring Bengali Brick Lane through its narratives of past, present and future, these stories attest to the symbolic and emotional importance of such spaces, and to their complex imaginings.

在人类社会的精神和性格日渐颓靡的今天,“狼文学”在当代世界文学的整体格局中,成为了一个灿烂而奇异的存在,因此有必要对“狼文学”的创作方式和精神内涵等各方面进行深入地挖掘、剖析.学者们对“狼文学”投入了极大的研究热情,并做了诸多卓有成效的专题研究.但鲜有人关注“狼文学”中普遍存在的大量的浪漫主义与自然主义元素,而正是这种奇特的创作手法使得“狼小说”既粗犷、剽悍和神秘,又不失温情、细腻与浪漫.     

Genericism and Specialization: The Story since 1970

Using the first three years of the British Journal of SocialWork, 1971–74, as a starting point, this paper tracesthe difficulties which have beset the social work professionin establishing a sound coherent basis both for a generic foundationand for subsequent specializations. It examines the factorswhich have contributed to these difficulties, in education,in practice and in relation to external factors, notably political.It concludes that social work has been blown off course butthat there are hopeful indications of a new impetus to restoreand regenerate the essence of good practice.

英国社会保障制度以国家为主导,社会力量小,市场功能不足,表现出公平有余而效率不足的特征,这些特征主要从英国社会保障发展历史,英国福利观念演变,英国社会保障制度改革,英国社会保险模式,英国社会保障资金来源,英国社会保障经办机制等六个方面得以体现.英国社会保障制度有四点可以借鉴坚持公平优先兼顾效率,突出权利与义务的对等性和加强第三部门作用,实现社会保障资金增值多样化.     

Employment, family union and childbearing decisions in Great Britain

Summary.  The paper investigates the life-cycle relationship of work and family life in Britain based on the British Household Panel Survey. Using hazard regression techniques we estimate a five-equation model, which includes birth events, union formation, union dissolution, employment and non-employment events. We find that transitions in and out of employment for men are relatively independent of other transitions. In contrast, there are strong links between employment of females, having children and union formation. By undertaking a detailed microsimulations analysis, we show that different levels of labour force participation by females do not necessarily lead to large changes in fertility events. Changes in union formation and fertility events, in contrast, have larger effects on employment.
