理解科学教育——基础教育课程改革背景下中学科学教育的新解读

当代科学哲学的发展,引起了人们对科学观,尤其是对科学本质的认识的根本性改变;后现代思潮的出现,在对现代性进行广泛的批判与解构的同时,对现代化进程中最为重要的因素--科学也进行了全面的批判与解构.这两个方面都对科学教育,特别是对中学科学教育形成了极大的冲击,迫使人们对科学教育作出深入分析和自觉反思.我国正在开展基础教育课程改革,在这样的背景下,从上述两个维度出发,重新解读中学科学教育,有利于理解科学教育的本质,推进科学教育改革的进程.     

光电信息科学与工程专业国际化办学课程体系设置研究——以中德合作为例

在国际化办学过程中,由于国内外教育基础的差异,相同专业的课程体系设置也有很大不同,因此国内大学在国际化办学过程中有必要根据国际惯例和自身实际情况对相应的课程体系设置做出调整和优化。以上海理工大学光电信息科学与工程专业中德合作为例,分析了该专业课程体系设置中所面临的核心问题,并探讨了解决的方法。提出通过明确培养目标、整合双方培养计划、模块化课程设置、合理配置语言教学课程比例等方法,实现课程体系设置的优化方案。     

The Experiences of Care Leavers (Post-care Adults) in Social Work Education

This paper explores the experiences of social work students on qualifying degree programmes in the UK who have previously been in care or ‘looked after’. Using a sample drawn from three social work programmes in the North West of England, a semi-structured interview schedule was constructed, with the support of social workers who had been in the care system, to examine the individual journeys of 11 students. This paper aims to explore, with this group of students, how their experiences relate to their decision to apply for a place on a social work course, their experience of admission and the duration of the programme. The paper is of particular relevance to social work educators and makes specific suggestions regarding how current practice in social work education might improve.     

Social Work and Sustainable Social Development: Teaching and Learning Strategies for ‘Green Social Work’ Curriculum

It is increasingly recognized that social work has a vital role to play in shaping effective responses to environmental degradation, climate change and disasters. Innovative teaching and learning strategies can be used to facilitate understanding of complex, interrelated and systemic social, economic and environmental challenges. This article shares the development and design of a new social work course entitled ‘Social work and sustainable social development’. Teaching methods and strategies are provided including individual and group mind maps, case studies and presentations, guest speakers and evaluation methods. Implications for social work education and the profession are discussed in order to build capacity to address environmental justice and sustainability.     

Current Publications Received

The Economics Across the Curriculum approach encourages the integration of economic concepts into various disciplines. This article features the essence of the approach built on best practices described in the literature. Several creative lesson ideas for teaching about money and inflation are showcased. These lessons were field-tested by high school teachers in algebra, American history, and Spanish language classes. The goal is to inspire teachers to try these ideas in their classrooms. Any subject area can be a fruitful ground for the infusion of some economic concepts and making lessons engaging and meaningful for students.     

Developing a social work curriculum on political conflict: findings from an IASSW-funded project

This paper presents the findings from an innovative project funded by the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) and undertaken by an international team of academics investigating the development of a global curriculum for social work in the context of political conflict. Coupled alongside the emerging research and literature on the subject, our small-scale survey findings indicate support for the need for social work educators to address political conflict more systematically within social work curricula at both undergraduate and post-qualifying levels of social work education. This paper illuminates the opportunities for creative pedagogy whilst also examining the threats and challenges permeating the realisation of such initiatives. In this way, the implementation of a proposed curriculum for political conflict is given meaning within the context of IASSW's Global Standards for social work education. Given the exploratory nature of this project, the authors do conclude that further research is warranted in regard to potential curriculum development and suggest using a comparative case study approach with more in-depth qualitative methods as a way to address this.     

信息与计算科学专业“信息安全”课程群的特征与框架研究

通过近两年的人才培养质量跟踪调查,结合信息与计算科学专业特点以及当前形势,根据东华理工大学近几年的专业建设情况,提出在信息与计算科学专业中进行"信息安全"课程群建设的设想,并对"信息安全"课程群的特征及建设框架进行了探讨。     

《英语课程标准》的缺失——义务教育英语语音问题探析

通过对《全日制义务教育普通高级中学英语课程标准》(以下简称《英语课程标准》)语音教学的课程目标和知识描述的分析,发现了《英语课程标准》中语音教学的缺失。笔者把英语语言的本质作为课程设置的逻辑起点,明确了小学阶段课程标准中关于语音技能和语音知识技能的具体目标、训练内容。并针对现阶段(义务教育小学阶段)语音教学的缺失提出了具体的训练方法——小学段英语识字的四步解码教学法,这一方法将改变学生的英语语言观念,有利于培养儿童形成良好的英语语音意识,从而使儿童英语学习和第二语言机制的获得成为一种自觉的、精确的过程。     

Implementing media literacy training for social work programs at HBCUs: A literary analysis of barriers and opportunities

ABSTRACT

The image of the social work profession in the media is problematic for many reasons. Social work and its practitioners are often depicted as incompetent, ineffective, and unnecessary. Despite the necessity of the services provided to the public by social workers, public opinion of the profession remains low. To reverse the current trend, social work programs, particularly those at historically Black colleges and universities, can begin to provide media literacy training and media awareness within the curriculum to assist future social workers in stemming the tide of negative coverage and portrayals of the profession in the media. Using the media diffusion of information theory as an overview, this literary analysis provides a historical view of the profession and highlights current trends in social work practice, education, and media training.     

The Integration of Cost and Capacity Considerations in Material Requirements Planning Systems

Within the sequential framework of material requirements planning (MRP), a master production schedule (MPS) of end-item production is prepared and a bill-of-material processor is used to convert the MPS into a plan for needed subassemblies, parts, and materials. This study examines the impact of different procedures for considering inventory-related costs and capacity limitations in the two phases of planning: master production scheduling and bill-of-material (BOM) processing. A total of nine procedures are considered for integrating the two phases of planning. The results indicate that the integrated procedures have a significant effect on the trade-offs among inventory-related costs, work load variations, over/under time costs, and excess work loads. Further, the results suggest that the method used to develop the MPS has the primary influence on these trade-offs, but the method used by the BOM processor can sometimes have a moderating effect.
