Introducing the Strata Approach to Dialogue Analysis (SADA): the case of political NGOs in Israel

ABSTRACT

While research on dialogue has been flourishing over the past few decades, critics contend that this scholarship often misses the core philosophical idea of dialogue, focusing instead on the absence or presence of dialogic principles in various organizational settings. This study has both empirical and methodological objectives: a) to solve a built-in lacuna in on-going dialogue research that frequently addresses important aspects of PR and dialogue in a blended manner, thereby undercutting the ability to develop in-depth critical research and examine the issues of dialogue more comprehensively; b) to provide an empirical contribution to understanding dialogue within the context of political NGOs’ public relations in Israel’s divided society. We suggest a layered approach as a methodological solution to this void by introducing a Strata Approach to Dialogue Analysis (SADA). Israel’s divided society, comprising various opposing groups, serves as a case study to demonstrate the advantages of SADA over current analyzes of dialogue. By revealing the differences between dialogic potential (features), actual dialogue (process), and the perception of dialogue (orientation), SADA enables the development of in-depth, critical research, i.e. examining the issue of dialogue more accurately and comprehensively.

How Do Women in Developing Countries Increase Political Representation in National Assemblies? A Longitudinal Analysis of South Korea

Previous studies have found that political, socioeconomic, and ideological factors are critical determinants of gender equality in political representation. However, these studies have not explained the combined effects of these factors over time in each country. Furthermore, because they focus primarily on Western, developed countries, the experiences of non-Western developing countries have been overlooked. To fill this gap, this article uses data on South Korea from 1948 to 2008 to examine the effects of political, socioeconomic, and ideological factors on the level of women’s political representation. Results indicate that, compared to socioeconomic factors, political and ideological factors are more critical determinants of gender equality in political leadership.     

文艺政策影响下歌剧《白毛女》的经典化过程

从延安时期到新中国,歌剧《白毛女》的历史地位和内容版本的变化实际上离不开中国共产党文艺政策调整的影响。在《讲话》影响下歌剧《白毛女》作为诠释党的文艺政策的经典之作面世,而后又经历了十七年时期文艺政策变动之下由构建经典到解构经典的戏剧性命运变化,直到文化大革命时期由于奉行以阶级斗争为纲的指导思想造成了歌剧《白毛女》的彻底失语,新时期以来通过对中国共产党文艺政策的全新调整实现了思想领域内全面的拨乱反正,使得歌剧《白毛女》得以重登舞台再见光明。不同时期党的文艺政策的调整较为集中地反映在《白毛女》具体样式、文本内容、演出情况的变化上,从这些变化中可以厘清延安时期、十七年时期、文化大革命时期以及新时期以来文艺与政治的关系变化,同时在政治文化的观照下也会对当前的文艺现状具有积极的启示意义。     

诗歌与城邦——忒奥格尼斯诉歌的政治意涵

古希腊诉歌诗人忒奥格尼斯给世人留下了无数谜题，他的生平、属地、诗作年代、诗作归属、甚至历史上是否真有其人等等问题都曾引起争议。但诗人名下诗集无疑能够代表一种麦加拉诗歌传统，这种传统首先意味着对城邦政制的检审，同时，关注于城邦政治生活的根本——教育青年。因此，细心体味这位诗人诗作中丰富的政治意涵，对人们思考诸多问题都提供了契机。     

Kunuk took it to the streets of Greenland: single-issue protests in a young online democracy

Single-issue protests and online mobilization have proliferated in the wake of social media. While significant ground has been covered regarding the changing possibilities for mobilization, the question of how specific circumstances condition the political impact of online mobilization and public protests has received much less attention. During the last couple of years, Greenlanders have increasingly employed Facebook to mobilize the populace and arrange public demonstrations with noteworthy results. Arguing that single-issue protests cannot be separated from the issues they are concerned with, the paper explores how a single and potential trivial political issue – a new parliament building – developed from a prestige project supported by a nearly unanimous Parliament into a public-contested issue and a failed political project. The paper invokes Actor-Network Theory to account for the trajectory of the issue and how it was translated along the way as actors built and broke alliances. The concepts of mobilizing structures, opportunity structures and framing processes are employed to shed light on the conditions of possibilities for the emergence, development and impact of the protest against the parliament building. Finally, the paper discusses social media’s impact on the image of politically engaged Inuit and on the power relations between citizens and parliament in Greenland. This discussion is of paramount importance as Greenlanders are struggling with their colonial heritage while they are constructing Greenlandic democracy.

从教育碑刻看清初地方官师“政教合一”之意识——以康熙十七年重修潮州府学为例

以教育碑刻为材料,讨论几位不同身份的官师,在康熙十七年重修潮州府学的过程中,一边不断通过官员的身份,运用行政的手段,利用兴修府学推动地方社会对刚鼎立的新政权正统性的认同,另一边又以师者的身份,以府学为平台,在地方社会中传播"正统"思想,不断为自身塑造着"亦官亦师"形象,反映出清初地方官师"政教合一"的意识。     

构建社会主义和谐社会视域中的政治文化建设

社会主义和谐社会的建设是经济、政治、文化、社会四位一体的有机体,政治文化对于构建社会主义和谐社会起着至关重要的作用。社会主义和谐社会建设目标中的民主法治、公平正义、安定有序等都体现着一种政治文化的理念。本文以构建社会主义和谐社会为视角,从什么是政治文化和政治文化建设入手,对当前我国政治文化的现状和如何发挥政治文化的作用等对政治文化在构建和谐社会中的作用进行阐述。
