"全球化的思想,本土化的操作"是当今全球化市场经营的准则。肯德基、麦当劳的成功是全球本土化的经典案例之一。广告话语建构社会,是一种社会产品和社会现实。基于肯德基、麦当劳的广告,以美国、中国大陆和香港为考察对象,从三个不同的维度揭示全球本土化在广告话语中的体现,即广告话语所表现的文化价值观、语言使用和视觉吸引的异同及混杂性。     

Globalization and workplace performance in Canada: Cross-sectional and dynamic analyses of productivity and wage outcomes

We start from the premise that firm productivity differences need to be taken into account in the examination of the determination of wages and, more broadly, earnings inequality. Unlike most sociological studies of globalization, in this study using Canadian data we incorporate direct measurement (of some aspects) of globalization, and examine closely the association between workplace productivity and wages on the one hand, and exporting, foreign ownership and outsourcing on the other. We conduct cross-sectional and dynamic analyses. We find the following: (i) there is a relationship between exporting and productivity across different model specifications; (ii) the effects on productivity kick in when a workplace is substantially rather than marginally engaged in export markets; (iii) productivity increases are markedly greater in workplaces where export intensity has increased in prior periods; (iv) productivity is higher in workplaces that are wholly foreign owned; (v) wages are also associated with productivity and with both exporting and foreign ownership.     

On Collision Course : The European Central Bank,Monetary Policy,and the Nordic Welfare Model

The question addressed in this paper is whether a particular discursive construction of globalization sets the boundaries for what is politically feasible within the EU. To answer this question, the macroeconomic policies of the European Monetary and Economic Union with its rigid emphasis on price stability are analysed in the context of the Nordic promise to preserve the present level of social programmes. What makes this 'puzzle' so interesting is that for the first time a large section of women voters hold the key to joining EMU. The analysis differs frommanyother feminist approaches to EMUand equal opportunity policy in that it combines a constructivist understanding of EMU with feminist political economy. The paper concludes that the Nordic promise to its female constituency to safeguard the present socialandemployment system cannot be sustained within the context of the restrictive monetary regime institutionalized by EMU. Feminist economists are calling for a 'transformative' approach to macroeconomics arguing that democratizing the process of macroeconomic policy making is a crucial element in changing the fundamental assumptions of the present neo-liberal policies and provides an alternative that would lead to a more gender-democratic Europe.

Solidarity Across Borders: The Transnational Anti-Apartheid Movement

This paper focuses on what from a global perspective must be seen as one of the most significant social movements during the post-war era: the transnational anti-apartheid movement. This movement lasted for more than three decades, from late 1950s to 1994, had a presence on all continents, and can be seen to be part of the construction of a global political culture during the Cold War. The paper argues that the history of the anti-apartheid struggle provides an important historical case for the analysis of present-day global politics—especially in so far that movement organizations, action forms, and networks that were formed and developed in the anti-apartheid struggle are present in the contemporary context of the mobilization of a global civil society in relation to neoliberal globalization and supra-national political institutions such as the World Trade Organization, International Monetary Fund, and World Bank.     

全球化的现代性、文化及普世主义的问题

随着全球化取代现代化成为当代变迁的一种范式,需要重新界定现代性.这种重新界定的现代性,即是"全球化的现代性".全球化通过放弃欧洲中心的目的论,以包容现代性发展中不同历史轨迹的可能性而有别于现代化.它为现代性带来欧美之外其他地区的经验和传统文化遗产.由此,一元现代性破碎为多元的和可选择的现代性."多元现代性"提议全球化的多元文化主义,寻求以不同的文化方式实现现代的可能性来控制对现代性的挑战,它标志着现代性的扩展或普世化.全球化的现代性,作为当代的条件,不是以现代性的瓦解为标志,而是以其围绕一个全球性中心的重构为标志,尽管必然是一个缺席的中心.     

挑战、机遇与选择--论经济全球化与国家主权的博弈

20世纪90年代以来经济全球化浪潮席卷全球.经济全球化一方面对国家主权概念提出了严峻的挑战,导致了国家主权特别是发展中国家主权的弱化;另一方面又为民族国家强化国家主权和职能提供了契机.面对经济全球化,主权国家尤其是发展中国家应积极参与,从容应对,加快政府职能转变和制度创新,树立新的国家主权观.     

宽恕的条件和界限——苦难意识、记忆理性和有限度的超越性

宽恕这个概念在20世纪的全球化交往与和解的要求中被普遍使用。但是，它所包含的矛盾逻辑并没有得到深刻反思。在揭示了宽恕概念的双重逻辑之后，德里达提出，宽恕不是交易，也不能限制在宽恕那些包含被宽恕可能性的过错和罪恶上。宽恕的真正含义是宽恕那些不可宽恕的。纯粹的宽恕是包含着差异的，也是有限的，它是做不可能做的事情。德里达对西方伦理和政治基本观念的解构，并非要放弃所有传统或提供一个绝对抽象的乌托邦，而是要使伦理和政治观念重新获得它们的现实能动性。     

论全球化问题与全球性问题的区别和联系

全球化问题与全球性问题名称近似 ,但二者是有区别的 :其一 ,全球化问题的内涵比全球性问题更宽泛 ,全球化问题包括全球性问题 ,但不能仅归结为全球性问题 ;其二 ,全球化问题产生的历史起点和理论研究的起始年代比全球性问题早得多 ,二者形成的背景也不完全相同 ;其三 ,就其影响或后果而言 ,全球化问题兼具正负双重效应 ,全球性问题则单指负效应。当然 ,二者在其发展进程上也具有相关性 ,它们互为因果 ,互相影响 ,互相推动。弄清全球化问题与全球性问题的区别和联系 ,对深化这方面的理论研究和解决有关的实际问题 ,具有重要意义
