Analysis of accelerated life tests with weibull failure distribution via generalized linear models

Efficient industrial experiments for reliability analysis of manufactured goods may consist in subjecting the units to higher stress levels than those of the usual working conditions. This results in the so called "accelerated life tests" where, for each pre-fixed stress level, the experiment ends after the failure of a certain pre-fixed proportion of units or a certain test time is reached. The aim of this paper is to determine estimates of the mean lifetime of the units under usual working conditions from censored failure data obtained under stress conditions. This problem is approached through generalized linear modelling and related inferential techniques, considering a Weibull failure distribution and a log-linear stress-response relationship. The general framework considered has as particular cases, the Inverse Power Law model, the Eyring model, the Arrhenius model and the generalized Eyring model. In order to illustrate the proposed methodology, a numerical example is provided.     

On the Principal Component Liu-type Estimator in Linear Regression

In this article, we present a principal component Liu-type estimator (LTE) by combining the principal component regression (PCR) and LTE to deal with the multicollinearity problem. The superiority of the new estimator over the PCR estimator, the ordinary least squares estimator (OLSE) and the LTE are studied under the mean squared error matrix. The selection of the tuning parameter in the proposed estimator is also discussed. Finally, a numerical example is given to explain our theoretical results.     

The Absolute Difference Law For Expectations

We revisit the addition law for expectations and present a sibling law: the absolute law for expectations. We show that these two laws and their corresponding laws for probabilities can be reconciled under a single framework. As an application, we use the absolute law for expectations to calculate the mean absolute deviation. Finally, we remark on a hidden point in a related article previously published on these pages; this will help readers to avoid a potential pitfall.     

Nonparametric estimator for mean residual life and vitality function

In this paper, we study the estimation of the vitality function(v(x)=E(X|X>x) and mean residual life function(e(x)=E(X-x|X>x) from a sample ofX using the empirical estimator and kernel estimator. Under suitable conditions of regularity, the asymptotic normality of the kernel estimator is obtained. Partially supported by Consejeria de Cultura y Ed. (C.A.R.M.), under Grant PIB 95/90.

“和为贵”与“中庸之道”,是中国传统文化中的重要思想原则。传入日本后,曾对其社会发展,产生很大积极作用。但同时,当日本对外侵略扩张时,又能与其“军国主义”思想并行不悖。为什么呢？这是与日本本土政治文化,诸如“内外有别”的共同体意识、“武士道”精神,以及“万世一系”的天皇制度等相结合的结果     

区域整合模式下川黔渝“旅游金三角＂开发对策

区域旅游资源联动开发是旅游产业发展的趋势之一。通过对四川、贵州、重庆结合部地区旅游资源存量情况、开发利用状况、发展规划目标等相关情况的调查,对川黔渝“旅游金三角”的地理范围进行界定,对区域内的旅游资源分布情况和旅游产业发展存在的问题进行分析,提出建立区域旅游发展协调机制,优化区域旅游空间布局,构建川黔渝“旅游金三角”品牌,整合优势资源打造精品旅游线路,加快旅游基础设施建设等区域旅游整合开发对策。     

均值尾部相关系数及其在金融领域的应用

传统尾部相关系数用于刻画变量之间的极值相关性,但这种相关系数存在对相关性信息刻画不完全的问题。为能够捕获更多的非极值相关性信息,本文提出均值尾部相关系数的概念,研究了均值尾部系数同Copula理论之间的关系,并以t Copula为例分析了四种均值尾部相关系数的变化特征。通过将均值尾部相关系数和传统尾部相关系数分别应用于沪深股市的相关性研究,从实证角度验证了这种相关系数的实用价值。     

论《金瓶梅》的意象群叙事结构

《金瓶梅》以五大意象群为其叙事结构的基础：宗教意象群具有形而上的地位,统摄了小说劝世意图与叙事结构的对称效应;心理意象群具有张本作用,预示了人物命运的大体走向;时间意象群具有推进作用,形成了人物和家庭命运发展的大致时序;空间意象群具有写实意义,呈现了人物关系和场景发生的典型环境;人物意象群具有核心地位,承载了主人公及其家庭由暴发至没落的完整过程。《金瓶梅》的叙事完全打破了此前中国长篇小说的单线型结构模式,构建了《金瓶梅》的综合立体叙事结构,充分表现了家庭生活和社会生活以及人物性格的生成和发展,成为《红楼梦》的重要借鉴。
