影响居民参与养老服务储蓄活动的信念因素

本文基于计划行为理论的视角，运用个案调查方法，对已参与和尚未参与养老服务储蓄活动的居民分别进行访谈，从态度、主观规范和知觉行为控制三个维度分析了影响城市居民参与养老服务储蓄活动的突显信念因素。结果发现突显信念并非单一地影响其参与意向，而是多个因素共同地对参与者的参与意向起作用。根据这些因素，提出推广养老服务储蓄活动的相关对策与建议。

国内影响义工服务发展的相关问题探讨

义工在中国是个新事物,可以在未来的社会和谐发展中扮演更为重要的角色。但是当前有四个问题面临解决：第一,自身身份的确定仍然不是很职确;第二,与政府相应职能部门的交往仍需要深入有效的协调;第三,社会大众对义工的了解和认识需要加强;第四,业务开展范围的局限性。这四个问题如果能够得到解决,那么义工在中国的发展将会走上一个新的台阶。     

国外社区心理健康服务及其对我国社区心理健康服务的借鉴

社区心理健康在发展国外相对完备,从国外社区心理健康的产生和发展、理论基础和服务体系出发,探讨其对我国社区心理健康服务的借鉴作用,最后对我国社区心理健康服务提出构想：政策的实际支持、提高公众的心理健康意识、建立完整的心理健康服务体系、加强其他部门合作。     

Innovation behavior in the hotel industry

We develop and test a model of innovation behavior in the hotel industry. The model relates four types of innovation—i.e., management, external communication, service scope and back-office—to the key determinants: service provider characteristics, customer competences and the market drivers. Using statistical probit models and cross-sectional survey data from a stratified sample of hotels in the Balearic Islands (N=331) we were able to verify the model including innovation types determinants and the innovation impact on hotels performance. Main findings verify the model indicating the effects of these determinants on innovation and the positive impact of the innovation on the hotels performance. Hence, innovation decisions determinants are: the additional services on offer, that bookings are made through tour operators, that hotels are part of a hotel chain and that the owners of the hotel run the business.     

‘Messages from the Research’: Social Services Departments and Irish Children and Families in England and Wales

Social work education and social work theory and practice have tended to pay insufficient attention to the specificity of Irish people in Britain. The chief focus of this article is on the responses of Directors of Social Services Departments, in England and Wales, to a questionnaire that tried to ascertain their operational responses to Irish children and families. It is maintained that some authorities are working hard to ensure that there is an Irish dimension to their work. However, more still needs to be done to ensure that these departments are meeting the requirements of the Children Act 1989.     

Social Work with Greek Migrants: A personal experience of the issues and dilemmas

Abstract

Parenthood is increasingly a choice being made by lesbians in Australia. Although children conceived in heterosexual relationships have been raised in lesbian-parented households since the 1970s, there is now an emerging trend of children being conceived within lesbian relationships. The emergence of new family forms has implications for individuals, families, and the broader community. The present paper draws on the experiences of 17 lesbian-parented families living in Sydney and regional New South Wales. Adopting an ecological framework towards child development, it argues that both informal and formal support systems are important in enhancing the protective factors to support these families. The paper identifies a number of critical times of vulnerability for these families. At these times, if informal support systems fracture, the formal support system can play a significant protective role towards lesbian-parented families and support lesbian-parented families to achieve optimum family and child wellbeing.     

Older Lesbians and Gays Accessing Health and Aged-Care Services

Abstract

The present paper examines older lesbian and gay people's experiences of and expectations for the delivery of health and aged-care services. In-depth narrative interviews were conducted with older gays and lesbians in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney (NSW, Australia). Data were analysed by identifying evaluative statements within specific narratives and grouping these statements into themes. Participants reflected on the meaning of their sexual identity and how they would like it to be acknowledged when in contact with health and aged-care service providers. In addition to direct discrimination, participants reported a more indirect form of discrimination in providers’ assumption of heterosexuality among clients and their failure to provide lesbian- or gay friendly services. The findings highlight the need for health and aged-care services to better understand and acknowledge older gay and lesbian people's sexual identities to enable improved access to services in the future.
