Modelling Chinese manufacturers' technology adoption behaviour

Abstract

This paper uses firm-level survey data from Hong Kong to identify determinants of technology adoption. The data analysis was guided by proposing a new model that was built upon the Theory of Planned Behaviour and Technology Acceptance Model. Three types of determinants are considered. They are determinants controllable by the technology suppliers and technology buyers, respectively; an external determinant that is not controllable by both the technology suppliers and buyers. This paper reviews research in related areas and the proposed model suggests ways in which behavioural, environmental and organisational issues may be important to technology adoption. The result reveals that behavioural and organisational issues are relevant to technology adoption decision, whereas the relevance of environmental issues is questionable.     

The political activities of social workers in the context of changing roles and political transition in Hong Kong

The article reports on a fourth study on the political participation of social workers based on a methodology developed by Gray and Collett van Rooyen (2000). Thus far studies have been conducted in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. The present study examined the political activities of social workers in Hong Kong. It begins with a review of the politicisation of Hong Kong's social workers, tracing developments from the 1960s onwards. It then examines the literature on political participation in social work, particularly various typologies of political activity, in order to add to theory relating to this important aspect of social-work practice. Thereafter, it outlines the conceptual framework and methodology used in the study, the results of which provide the basis for the discussion of the political activities of social workers in Hong Kong. It ends with an in-depth discussion of the implications of the findings for the political role of social workers in Hong Kong's changing political context.

借鉴香港立法制度 完善祖国大陆分居立法

分居制度属于婚姻法律制度的重要组成部分,香港的婚姻法对分居制度进行了较为详细的规定.目前,我国大陆婚姻立法中有关分居制度还不完善,应积极借鉴香港的分居立法经验,对我国大陆分居制度的形式、程序、条件、法律后果以及分居与离婚的关系等内容进行立法,完善我国大陆的婚姻立法.     

英国统治香港的"主权在英"原则述评

英国管治香港期间,非法侵占了中国对香港的主权,确立了“主权在英”的殖民统治香港的最高原则:通过英皇颁布的三个敕令,把“主权在英”的最高原则“合法化”;通过三个宪制性文件,把“主权在英”的最高原则宪制化;通过直辖管治,把“主权在英”的最高原则治权化。由此,英国确保了对香港长达一个半世纪的殖民统治。直到1997年中国对香港恢复行使主权,英国“主权在英”殖民统治香港的最高原则终于寿终正寝,成为历史。

穗港澳民俗文化旅游资源都非常丰富。由于三地同处岭南 ,且在同一文化圈内 ,因而三地在民风习俗方面有不少相同之处 ,但由于历史的原因、社会性质的差异以及与西方交往的程度不同 ,又决定了三地民俗无论在源流、具体内容 ,还是在中西民俗交融的程度上 ,都存在着一定的差异。     

宁波与现代国际著名港城国民经济信息化比较研究

文章以笔者前期研究成果和国际通行的理论为依据，通过比较计算宁波与香港的国民经济信息化指数，从一个方面分析了现代国际著名港城国民经济信息化的实际情况及对宁波的启示。     

香港与内地区际法律冲突及其协调

香港与内地分离长达一个半世纪，在英国殖民统治过程中，逐渐形成了以英国普通法为基础的法律制度体系。回归后，原有法律基本不变，使得香港与内地在一个主权国家范围内分属于两个不同的法域，从而不可避免地产生法律适用上的冲突即区际法律冲突。切合实际的协调办法是在近期内适用冲突法中的冲突规范来协调，然后制定统一的区际冲突法

有宋以降,《孔丛子》一书的真伪即成为历代学者争论不休的话题。掇拾历代《孔丛子》真伪观,并且对其进行一定的梳理与条辨,对于重新认识此书以及对其学术价值进行客观定位,都是十分必要的。     

个体存在焦虑与民族文化忧患——兼论白先勇与存在主义的关系

对白先勇来说,对存在主义的持久兴趣来自一种境遇的相通和自我认同建构的需要。白先勇的小说表现出个体存在的焦虑和民族文化的忧患。前者映照出作者个体生命认同困局;后者则寓示着战后台湾以及海外中国人存在困境。将个体悲剧融进民族国家的历史叙述,是白先勇能够不囿于西方现代派、建构中国现代派的重要原因。
