Challenging the neoliberal view of education: the Center for Ecoliteracy as a transformative educational practice

The neoliberal rationality of recent decades has, as one of its maxims, that of extending market logic to the rest of social dimensions on the basis of competition. However, the spreading of this neoliberal ‘drug’ requires profound political reforms. It calls for a cultural engineering of the public sector which has been fostered by the New Public Management (NPM). This form of governmentality controls current power relations and gives a new meaning to the management of public services, including the educational sector. In this paper, we maintain that there are ‘spaces of resistance’ against the neoliberal educational rationality. We analyse the Center for Ecoliteracy (CFE) as a transformative experience which integrates a holistic perspective into educational practice. We compare the principles of the NPM with those of the CFE, showing that there are more humanistic approaches to education which aim to teach students the need to live in sustainable communities.

反转教学也称为翻转课堂（Flipped Class Model）,是利用信息技术改革课堂教学过程的一种“破坏性”创新。文章分析了将反转教学应用在教育技术培训中的优势,构建了教育技术“反转”培训模式,并将其应用在教育技术培训实践中。希望藉此找到教育技术培训新的突破口,提高教育技术培训的针对性、实效性、吸引力。     

Beyond conventional wisdom: community cultural wealth and the college knowledge of African American youth in the United States

African American youth are generally as likely as their peers from other racial and ethnic groups to aspire to earn a college degree; yet, in spite of their aspirations these students remain under-represented in college enrollment and graduation. Part of the disparity between these students’ aspirations and the realization of their goals may lie in their minimal college knowledge and nominal participation in postsecondary preparatory activities that have frequently been caused by the historic, and ongoing, systematic disenfranchisement of African Americans. During interviews, college students reflected on how similarly-aged family members, peers, co-workers, and parishioners assisted with various aspects of college preparation and enrollment. The community cultural wealth framework helps us understand the reason for, and importance of, this ‘lateral mentorship’ in the fulfillment of these students’ college aspirations. Consequently, educators and educational systems are challenged to be more responsive to the college preparatory needs of traditionally under-represented college-going populations.     

我国普通高校教育经费政府投入比例问题初探

通过对2003~2007年我国普通高校教育经费政府投入比例现状分析,将此五年间的政府投入比例与非政府投入比例、政府投入占GDP百分比、政府投入在各地区的差异、政府投入与外国的差异作了充分比较,分析了影响我国普通高校教育经费政府投入的因素,提出了加强政府对普通高等教育发展的财政责任,统一教育经费的统计口径,制定符合科学发展观的政府投入标准,借鉴国际教育经费投入体制等建议。     

生活化视域下张载思想的当代价值

张载是宋明理学的奠基人之一,其所创立的＂关学＂在中国思想史上具有深远影响,不仅如此,其思想在当今社会也有重要的借鉴意义。张载的＂变化气质＂学说指引着人们朝着全面发展的方向前进,其＂民胞物与＂思想为社会的和谐提供了有力的支撑,其完善的教育思想也为现代教育制度的构建提供理论指导。但是,理解张载的思想不能仅仅停留在理论层面,而要充分考虑到其现实的实践意义,也就是从当下出发去寻找其能够实现的生活化路径。

＂钱学森之问＂表达了钱老对我国教育的厚望、重托与忧思。＂为什么我们的学校总是培养不出杰出人才？＂这一发问,发人深省,催人思索。这需要从我国大学教育的精神、理念、体制、人才培养模式等多个方面去反思。只有按照科技创新人才的成长规律,自主办学、自由创造,营造宽松宽容的学术环境,重塑大学的人文精神,打造一支高素质的教师队伍,改变人才培养模式,着力于创新人才培养,才可能出现杰出人才涌流的兴盛局面。
