高职英语教学中的人文教育

高职英语教学应成为对学生进行人文教育的重要载体和平台。教师在传授语言知识的同时,应充分挖掘教材中蕴涵的丰富人文素材,在英语教学中渗透人文教育,提高高职学生的人文素养。文章在深入分析人文教育和高校英语教学紧密的内在联系的基础上,指出教师可从营造轻松愉快、民主平等的学习氛围,深入发掘教材中的人文素材和在＂第二课堂＂活动中凸显对学生人文素养的培养三个方面开展人文教育。     

Key indicators influencing management of prolonged second stage labour by midwives in freestanding birth centres: Results from an ethnographic interview study

ProblemsComplications for newborns and postpartum clients in the hospital are more frequent after a prolonged second stage of labour. Midwives in community settings have little research to guide management in their settings.AimWe explored how US birth centre midwives identify onset of second stage of labour and determine when to transfer clients to the hospital for prolonged second stage.MethodsEthnographic interviews of midwives with at least 2 years’ experience in birth centres and participant observation of birth centre care.FindingsWe interviewed 21 midwives (18 CNMs, 3 CPMs/equivalent) from 18 birth centres in 11 US states, 45% with hospital practice privileges. Midwives relied on and engaged in embodied practice in evaluating each labour and making decisions concerning management of labour. Midwives considered time a useful but limited measure as a guiding factor in management. Though ideas of time and progress do play an important role in the decision-making process of midwives, their usefulness is limited due to the continual, multifactorial, and multisensory nature of the assessment. Relationship with the transfer hospital structured midwives’ decision-making about transfers.Discussion & conclusionThese findings can inform future robust multivariate evaluation of factors, including but not limited to time, in guidelines for management of second stage of labour. Optimal management may require formal consideration of more than just time and parity. Our findings also suggest the need for evaluation of how structural issues involving hospital privileges for midwives and relationships between birth centre and hospital staff affect the well-being of childbearing families.     

Conjoint effects of interacting strategy-making processes and lines of defense practices in strategic Risk Management: An empirical study

The ability to contain adverse effects of major risks under turbulent conditions and exploit the opportunities they present are fundamental concerns in strategic management and various institutions promote enterprise risk management (ERM) to deal with these challenges. Yet, our knowledge about how ERM affects performance and interacts with corporate strategy-making processes is limited. The ERM frameworks impose first and second lines of defense practices to integrate business operations and corporate risk oversight. Emergent strategies generate responsive initiatives and strategic planning coordinates updated actions. Hence, this study analyzes the conjoint effects of these ERM practices and strategy-making processes based on a large corporate sample and finds that ERM practices depend on strategy-making to attain effective risk outcomes. The application of ERM frameworks can, therefore, not be assessed in isolation, but must consider corporate strategy-making. This has implications for the way we conduct research on strategic risk management, how executives approach risk oversight and policy-makers impose formal risk governance requirements.     

Computer-Generated Neighbor Designs

Neighbor designs are useful to remove the neighbor effects. In this article, an algorithm is developed and is coded in Visual C + +to generate the initial block for possible first, second,…, and all order neighbor designs. To get the required design, a block (0, 1, 2,…, k ? 1) is then augmented with (v ? 1) blocks obtained by developing the initial block cyclically mod (v ? 1).     

Minimax Design for the Difference Between Estimated Responses for the Quadratic Model Over Hypercubic Regions

Abstract

A second-order model involving the intercept and only the pure quadratic terms is considered for regression over hypercubes. Minimization of the variance of the difference between estimated responses at two points, maximized over all pairs of points in the region of interest in factor space, is taken as the design criterion. Optimal design under the minimax criterion is derived and found to be the one which is also simultaneously A-, D-, and E-optimal for the parameters excluding the intercept. The minimax design is compared with other standard designs and is found to perform extremely well.     

Multicultural education: the state of play from an Australian perspective

This article reports on the first comprehensive survey of public school teachers in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) around issues of multicultural and English as Second Language (ESL) education. While there is substantial literature on multicultural education – what it should and shouldn’t be – there is much that is left unexplored in research in the area, not least of which is the characteristics of the teaching labour force. In this article, we ‘take stock’ of multicultural education, not by engaging with philosophical debates about multiculturalism as an ethical or policy practice, but as an auditing of what exists in the name of multicultural education. Drawing on a sample of over 5000 respondents, the article documents the changing cultural profile of the profession and highlights gaps in pre-service training and professional learning of teachers in terms of meeting the needs of Australia’s increasingly culturally and linguistically complex school populations.     

张家山汉简《二年律令》之"司寇"、"城旦舂"名分析

通过对历史文献中有关司寇、城旦舂等刑徒的记载进行梳理,并结合睡虎地秦简有关记载,对张家山汉简<二年律令>中涉及到的司寇与城旦舂的使用进行的细致分析.可以看出,司寇的用法在性别上还不十分明晰;而城旦舂的使用不是严格以男子为城旦、以女子为舂,而是互有交叉.     

输入强化影响二语听力注意的实证研究

注意在二语习得中扮演着重要角色。以注意假设和输入强化为理论基础,本研究采用前测-实验-后测-延时后测的实验方法,以英语虚拟语气为目的语形式,实证研究了输入强化对促进二语听力注意和习得的影响。结果表明：语法提示不能有效促进二语听力注意,输入强化有效地促进了二语听力注意;语法提示和输入强化结合促进了二语听力注意,但与单独输入强化促进注意程度无明显差异。应重视输入强化的形式和内容,抓住学习者兴趣,促进学习者在二语听力习得中的持续注意。     

波伏瓦女性主义思想的马克思主义之源

以往学界把波伏瓦的女性主义理论归于存在主义女性主义一脉,认为她的思想来源仅限于萨特的存在主义。但是,从哲学的视角,深入细致地研读波伏瓦的《第二性》一书,就会发现波伏瓦的女性主义思想来源其实十分宽广,它深深根植于西方哲学历史传统的土壤之中和法国现代哲学思想的语境之下。文章以其女性主义思想与马克思主义的渊源关系为例来澄清学界对其思想来源的误解,以证明其思想的独立性与原创性。     

中国未来“第二次人口红利”探讨——基于人口年龄结构与居民储蓄关系的分析

我国人口形势的新变化直接影响未来经济发展的潜力和活力。在人口环境发生剧烈变化的背景下开展关于第二次人口红利的讨论和研究非常必要。本文在以往相关文献的研究基础上,定位分析我国储蓄率的高水平特征,从人口变化、政策、社保等多个角度探讨未来储蓄持续走高的可能性。并利用全国30个省市地区的面板数据重点分析人口结构与居民储蓄之间的关系,发现老年抚养比与居民储蓄之间存在显著的负相关关系。文章得出结论,“第二次人口红利”在我国难以实现,抓紧开发第一次人口红利、拉动经济增长才是我国现阶段社会经济发展的重点。
