《元朝秘史》中“行”的用法分析

文章对"直译体"代表作<元朝秘史>译文中作为语法化后位成分"行"表示方位处所和表示受事、对象的两种特殊用法进行了分析,并以此为一力证探讨了汉语青海方言与蒙古语的关系.初步结论为蒙古语的影响渗透是现代青海方言语法特点形成的主要原因.     

The random fatigue-limit model in multi-factor experiments

The Random Fatigue-Limit (RFL) model in Pascual and Meeker (1999a) was motivated by the need to describe fatigue life of certain materials. The RFL model describes the relationship between lifetime (measured in cycles) and a single factor, often the applied stress on the material. It has been found to be particularly useful for modeling high-cycle fatigue (HCF), that is, lifetimes that exceed 10 million cycles. Outputs from this model can be used as input for system models for lifetimes of jet engines for design purposes. Understanding how well parts hold up as a function of stress and other environmental variables would be valuable to engineers designing new and better engines. In this article, we show how the RFL model can be extended from single factor (single stress) to multi-factor situations. We fit the proposed model extensions to available data and describe methods to assess the adequacy of the fits.

有清一代,秘密会党的滋长与基层社会的控制效率关系甚密。作为维持基层社会秩序的保甲,在清政治廉明、社会经济稳定时,它在国家政权的督导下,对举报、纠察、搜拿会党成员能起到一定作用。但随着清中后期人口的快速增长和大量流动,政治腐败的日益加重,社会矛盾的不断激化,人民群众的反清起义此起彼伏,致使保甲制不断破坏、瓦解,而无以担当对会党的控制功能。     

Secrecy and the force of truth: countering post-truth regimes

Post-truth regimes are disconcerting to the extent that they confuse the distinction between true and false and thus obfuscate and obstruct political debate. And they dismantle the secret by imitating its habit: they constantly make claims while leaving us to guess what exactly the true content is – or whether there is any content at all. In an imagined world without secrets, there would be no curiosity or confidentiality, no sincerity or trust, and no political possibility of thinking otherwise. Analysis of the logic of secrecy, the article argues, helps us to revisit the established confidence in our culture in the force of truth, and to confront a challenge post-truth regimes pose: that to establish truth involves affective force. Contrary to the common belief that truth – and secrecy – is something to be revealed, a Foucauldian reading suggests that to mobilize truth requires both truthfulness and a moment of creation. Truth relies on the secret but will always only emerge on the surface.     

An Exercise in Analysis of Variance Theory

The use of interactive computer graphics by teachers of statistics is encouraged, both before class to prepare plots to be used as examples and “live” in a graphics-terminal-equipped classroom. Twenty-four examples of computer-generated plots used to teach the concepts and techniques of statistics are shown.
