ABSTRACT Research suggests that efficacy and empowerment are necessary for social engagement and that a sense of efficacy and empowerment exerts positive influences on older adults. However, little is known about how individual efficacy and empowerment are affected by group efficacy and empowerment in later life. To assess the impact of group involvement on the individual, the authors conducted a follow-up study with members of an art guild for older adults. Qualitative data were collected in 1997 and 2001 to ascertain the members' perceptions of group goals and accomplishments, membership benefits, the effect on the community, societal views about older adults, and the impact of group activities on the individual. The results clearly indicated that collective efficacy and empowerment through social engagement were beneficial to members as individuals and as a group, and contributed to well-being through a general sense of accomplishment and pride. 相似文献

Using a sample of practitioners (n = 269) from the 2004 National Study of Licensed Social Workers, this article employs a quality assurance structure–process–outcome model to examine factors at the practitioner, workplace, and service delivery levels that influence the perceived efficacy of licensed gerontological social workers to affect client outcomes in the context of a highly challenging health care environment. A regression model accounted for 33.9% of the variance (adjusted R 2 = .291) in perceived efficacy with 3 aspects of service delivery satisfaction having significant effects: ability to address complex/chronic care, to influence the design of services, and to help clients navigate the system. 相似文献

The recent expansion of Internet gambling has stimulated debate, policy, and research on this relatively new phenomenon and
its potential consequences. The current study focuses on bettors experiencing problems by sampling Internet gamblers who imposed
limits on the amount they were allowed to deposit to a betting site. We analyzed the betting transactions over 18 months of
all gamblers who subscribed to an online betting site in February, 2005 (N = 47,134), 567 of whom utilized the site’s self-limit feature. Self-limiting gamblers played a wider variety of games and
placed more bets than others prior to imposing limits. After imposing limits, self-limiters reduced their activity, but did
not reduce the amount they wagered per bet. Time spent gambling, not just money spent, appears to be an important indicator
of gambling problems. Self-limit programs appear to be promising options for Internet gamblers at-risk for gambling problems.

Self-protection can be financed either by upfront payments or by conditional payments (or contingent fees) in which individuals
pay a provider only when a favorable outcome is realized. We find that, from the vantage point of a risk-averse individual,
conditional payments welfare dominate upfront payments in the state-independent framework, but upfront payments welfare dominate
conditional payments in the state-dependent framework. Moreover, more risk aversion always implies more self-protection under
conditional payments, for both state-independent and state-dependent frameworks. In contrast, it has been previously argued
that more risk aversion does not necessarily imply more self-protection under upfront payments.

目的:以甘肃省为例,探讨市县区域居民的自我和谐状态。方法:采取分层抽样的方法,抽取甘肃省12个市域成人居民为调查对象,运用自我和谐量表(SCCS)进行测量。结果:自我与经验的不和谐性在受教育程度上存在显著差异(P〈0.05);不同市域之间在自我的灵活性上存在显著差异(P〈0.001),这种差异在不同地区之间有不同的表现;自我的刻板性在受教育程度这个背景变量上存在显著差异(P〈0.05),这种差异在不同受教育程度者之间有不同的表现。结论:受教育程度(而不是性别、家庭来源)是影响自我与经验的不和谐性和自我的刻板性的重要因素;不同区域是影响自我的灵活性的重要因素。 相似文献

通过对53个社区456名老年人的问卷调查,主要研究了社区老年人抑郁状况与个体因素(社会支持、生活质量)和团体因素(社区集体效能)的关系。结果表明:(1)抑郁是存在于社区老年人中的一种较为普遍的负性情绪;(2)对于抑郁状况而言,社会支持和生活质量均是极其显著的负向预测因子;(3)社区水平的集体效能负向预测了老年人的抑郁状况,社区水平的集体效能对抑郁状况与社会支持、抑郁状况与生活质量间关系的负向预测作用显著。 相似文献
