Forging a professional identity is commonly assumed to be a key objective for new graduates transitioning to work. However, the extant literature on professional identity development gives minimal consideration to the role of contemporary work conditions such as increased contract-based employment and occupational instability in carving out a work identity. These workforce trends are particularly pronounced in the non-government community services sector, where worker mobility is high and workers often occupy roles that are not profession-specific. In light of these trends, this article seeks to broaden existing understandings of professional identity development. Focus groups were conducted with 24 newly qualified workers with degree-level qualifications in social work and the human services employed in the community services sector in Queensland. The findings suggest that these workers held a variety of allegiances, which were not necessarily aligned with a profession but instead shaped by the interplay of personal, professional, and organisational factors. 相似文献

This article examines the social experiences of Service Dog handlers using survey data from adult US Service Dog handlers (N = 482). The main research question examined is how disability visibility impacts the experiences of Service Dog-related discrimination. Analysis reveals that half of all Service Dog handlers report experiencing discrimination but those with invisible disabilities report experiencing significantly more discrimination. For those with invisible disabilities, the decision to use a Service Dog prevents them from ‘passing’ while at the same time opening them up to increased skepticism about the legitimacy of their disability. 相似文献

Integrated care is a global reform principle for improving patient access and outcomes by ensuring that healthcare organisations deliver services in a joined‐up, person‐centred way. Following reforms designed to infuse agency within English National Health Service (NHS) organisations, the agenda for integration must come to grips with the different approaches to joint working that these organisations mobilise, and the compatibility of their different agentic orientations. We build a matrix for identifying the extent to which different forms of agency orient nine NHS organisational types. Interrogating the Strategic and Operational Plans of these organisations for the period 2015–2018 based on questions derived from the matrix, we associate each organisation with one of eight generalised models. Assuming that there is greater potential for integration where organisations mobilise similar forms of agency, we discuss the incentives and potential governance changes that policy makers might consider to enhance integrative potential. 相似文献

A comprehensive view of factors associated with treatment use, from women’s and providers’ perspectives, based on a theoretical model is lacking.BackgroundSeveral studies examined various factors associated with postpartum depression service use; however, each study focused on a small number of factors.AimThis study describes a systematic literature review based on the Behavioral Model of Health Service Use. The purpose of this article is to review and synthesize the available literature regarding factors associated with women’s mental health service use for postpartum depression from women’s and healthcare providers’ perspectives, and provide a comprehensive integrative view of the subject.MethodsThree electronic databases were searched, and 35 studies published up to 2018 in English language journals met inclusion criteria for review. Factors associated with postpartum depression service use were classified according to the Behavioral Model of Health Service Use’s constructs.FindingsService use for postpartum depression is a function of a woman’s predisposition to use mental health services; individual, familial, and communal factors which enable or pose barriers to use of mental health services; and the woman’s perceived or evaluated need for treatment. In addition, societal determinants impact the woman’s decision to seek help directly or through impacting the health and mental health care service system’s resources and organization.ConclusionThis review illustrates key factors for researchers and practitioners to consider when treating postpartum women and developing interventions to enhance postpartum depression treatment use. 相似文献

This research aims to analyze management and innovation patterns among micro and small businesses (MSBs) that participated during 2015–2016 in the Local Innovation Agents (LIA) Program from the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (SEBRAE). Complemented by factor analyses, two-step cluster analysis was applied on 6674 MSBs’ management dimensions to identify group patterns and statistical tests explored further cluster differences regarding management and innovation dimensions, besides innovation improvement throughout the program. Results were multifaceted. First, complementary factor analyses showed that management dimensions compose one factor with similar loadings, thus in accordance with their predictive importance found in the cluster analysis. Second, two main clusters were identified in terms of management level, which also presented significant differences regarding innovation levels. Third, considering a before-and-after self-comparison, by and large, innovation was significantly improved by both clusters. Fourth, the highest developed cluster presented higher improvement rates in most innovation dimensions, thus benefiting more from the program, except for two marketing-related innovations, which improved similarly by both clusters. Overall, even though the LIA Program was effective to leverage MSBs innovation, higher efficiency rates would be bounded to fewer participating MSBs, and hence policy planners should be aware of this tradeoff. 相似文献

In a Bayesian setting, and on the basis of a doubly censored random sample of failure times drawn from a Rayleigh distribution, Fernandez (2000, Statist. Probab. Lett. , 48 , 393-399) considered the problem of predicting an independent future sample from the same distribution. In this article, we extend his work to include the estimation of the predictive distribution of the total time on test up to a certain failure in a future sample, as well as that of the remaining testing time time until all the items in the original sample have failed.
