Critical reflection is a concept in social work education that holds a significant place—it provides both foundational theoretical ideas about the practice of social work, and is also a process used in career-long learning. Understanding critical reflection as a threshold theory concept—a higher education learning and teaching concept—providing a framework which assists educators in teaching critical reflection. Threshold theory identifies certain concepts as foundational within a discipline—these are transformative in profoundly altering the way students understand the subject. As with critical reflection, they are also integrative, conceptually difficult or ‘troublesome’ and difficult to forget.

The intrinsic nature of critical reflection makes its use as a conceptual model in practice a complex task: it requires the integration of theoretical knowledge, in a multiple-step methodology. Students must fully engage with the process, in identifying the impact of their lived experience, values and beliefs on their practice, as well as power, social structures and influential discourses. This article argues that threshold theory assists educators in understanding the nature of learning that is required for students to master critical reflection in social work education  相似文献

本文根据新型城镇化的内涵构建了综合评价指标体系,对2000—2011年我国30个省份(西藏除外)的新型城镇化发展水平进行了综合测算,在此基础上探讨了新型城镇化的经济增长效应。研究结果表明,新型城镇化对消费、投资和外向型经济以及经济结构都具有积极正向推动作用,按由强到弱依次为投资、消费、外向型经济以及经济结构,并且新型城镇化对东、中、西部三大区域的增长效应具有明显的地域差异性特征。  相似文献

目前消除性别歧视主流观点和常用方法处在经济崇拜价值观之下,认为经济能力代表平等程度,这在传播和使用时显露出一些负面的影响,在追求政治、经济和文化上平等时,客观上造成参政歧视、职业歧视、消费主义。通过分析性别歧视的起源,指出性别歧视的实质是财富歧视,与阶级歧视同质。在歧视实质基础上,从制度、引导、宣传、社会技术等角度提出更合理的消除性别歧视的方法。  相似文献

The linear mixed-effects model (Verbeke and Molenberghs, 2000) has become a standard tool for the analysis of continuous hierarchical data such as, for example, repeated measures or data from meta-analyses. However, in certain situations the model does pose insurmountable computational problems. Precisely this has been the experience of Buyse et al. (2000a) who proposed an estimation- and prediction-based approach for evaluating surrogate endpoints. Their approach requires fitting linear mixed models to data from several clinical trials. In doing so, these authors built on the earlier, single-trial based, work by Prentice (1989), Freedman et al. (1992), and Buyse and Molenberghs (1998). While Buyse et al. (2000a) claim their approach has a number of advantages over the classical single-trial methods, a solution needs to be found for the computational complexity of the corresponding linear mixed model. In this paper, we propose and study a number of possible simplifications. This is done by means of a simulation study and by applying the various strategies to data from three clinical studies: Pharmacological Therapy for Macular Degeneration Study Group (1977), Ovarian Cancer Meta-analysis Project (1991) and Corfu-A Study Group (1995).  相似文献

This paper draws on the notion of threshold concepts to consider the way in which disability studies has the capacity to transform social work students' understandings of disability and therefore influence their practice. Most students enter social work programmes with the professed aim of ‘helping’ and so to be confronted by an approach (the social model of disability) and a body of research and theorising (disability studies) that challenges their taken-for-granted assumption that social work practice is ‘helpful’ is unsettling and can lead to resistance. The purpose of this article is to interrogate practice on a social work programme where a commitment to social model practice is explicated and embedded with the purpose of identifying what it is we want students to ‘get’, whether they find this troubling and how they can be effectively supported as they move through liminal spaces in social work education.  相似文献

In the present paper the predictor distribution of a SETAR (Self Exciting Threshold Autoregressive) model (Tong and Lim, 1980) has been investigated when the lead time is greater than the threshold delay.After a brief presentation of the model under study, some relevant aspects of the density forecasts are shown highlighting how they can be used to generate more accurate predictions and to estimate an approximation of the probability density function of the SETAR predictors. The performances of competing predictors have been evaluated through a simulation study and an application to financial market data of the daily Nikkey 300 stock market returns.  相似文献
