Suicidal Ideation and Comorbid Disorders in Adolescents and Young Adults Diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome: A Population at Risk

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to examine the level of suicidal ideation and comorbid disorders (major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder) among adolescents and young adults with diagnosed Asperger's syndrome (AS). A cross-sectional study using a self-administrated mail questionnaire and a Web-based questionnaire were used. Two samples were selected for this study. The first sample used snowball sampling, starting with parents of adolescents and young adults with diagnosed AS who participated in a qualitative study conducted in 2002. The second sample consisted of a volunteer sample of parents who visited Web sites for parents and individuals with diagnosed autism spectrum disorder. The sample included 10 adolescents and young adults with diagnosed AS. Fifty percent of the sample had a clinically significant level of suicidal ideation, 20% met criteria for a diagnosis of major depressive disorder, and 30% met criteria for generalized anxiety disorder.     

Should There Be Mentoring Efforts to Help Retain and Recruit More Males Into Baccalaureate and Master's Social Work Programs?

Social work programs need to actively set mechanisms in place to attract more men into a predominately female academic major through mentoring, recruitment, and retention efforts. This article conducts a review of the literature to examine whether mentoring efforts should be directed at male social work students. It is inconsistent for the social work profession to embrace the concept of providing culturally competent practices to clients but fail to address and combat a significant gender gap in the delivery of services to male clients.     

略论高校经管类专业经济法课程实践性教学改革

经管类经济法课程的实践性教学是培养应用型人才的一个重要方面。经管类经济法课程的教学中存在一些问题,有必要通过实践性教学目标、教学任务、教学体系、教学手段及教材选用的完善与授课教师实践能力的提高等方式,来提升实践性教学的质量。     

985高校专业建设质量分析——以2012-2013年本科专业评价结果为例

经过14年的发展,985工程稳步推进,使一批学科专业达到或接近国际一流水平,985高校专业建设质量的评价有利于弄清国内本科教育发展水平,对政府、高校制定更科学的发展路线和改革方针具有重要的现实意义。文章以2012-2013年本科专业评价结果为例,论述了评价对象、指标体系、数据来源与处理以及评价结果的表示方式,从985高校的专业优秀率与星级分布分析了985高校专业建设的宏观总体情况,进一步针对4种类型的专业进行分析,从微观层面反映出985高校专业的发展水平。     

Feeding the pipeline: Gender,occupational plans,and college major selection

In this article, we analyze gender differences in college major selection for respondents to the Education Longitudinal Study (2002–2006), focusing on educational pathways through college that lead to science, engineering, or doctoral-track medicine occupations and to non-doctoral track clinical and health sciences occupations. We show that gender differences in college major selection remain substantial, even for a cohort in which rates of enrollment in postsecondary education are more than ten percent higher for young women than for young men. Consistent with other recent research, we demonstrate that neither gender differences in work–family goals nor in academic preparation explain a substantial portion of these differences. However, the occupational plans of high school seniors are strong predictors of initial college major selection, a finding that is revealed only when occupational plans are measured with sufficient detail, here by using the verbatim responses of students. We also find that the association between occupational plans and college major selection is not attributable to work–family orientation or academic preparation. Finally, we find gender differences in the associations between occupational plans and college major selection that are consistent with prior research on STEM attrition, as well as with the claim that attrition also affects the selection of majors that are gateways into doctoral-track medicine. We discuss the implications of the predictive power of occupational plans formed in adolescence for understanding sex segregation and for policies intended to create a gender-balanced STEM and doctoral-level medical workforce.     

论英语专业课程体系的改革与实践——基于汕头大学英语专业的个案研究

在汕头大学关于教育"国际化"的改革大局中,外语系参照国外一流大学的人才培养模式和课程设置,对英专课程体系作了重大改革,采取了改造旧有课程;调整必修与选修课比例;大力增加专业理论课和跨学科理论课;提早开设理论课程等具体措施,打破了传统英专的教学模式,以全新理念重新打造了与国际接轨的英语专业教学模式,其改革的正确性和可行性已在六年的教学实践中得到了证实。     

高校篮球运动课程的思政机理探索

立德树人是高校育人的根本任务,高校篮球运动课程同样蕴含着深刻的育人要素和思政元素：篮球运动的哲学规律、技术阶段的变化特征以及竞技水平的提高规律与马克思主义哲学理论高度契合;我国篮球运动的发展成就可以激发学生的爱国主义情怀,篮球技术中丰富的引申含义与社会主义核心价值观相匹配;篮球技术背后的运动生物力学原理可以引导和培养学生的科学研究精神,引领大学生体育学科核心素养的培育。篮球运动课程可以凝练出爱国主义精神、集体主义精神、科学探究精神、开拓创新精神等育人要素和思政元素,教师采用不同的融合方式和教学方法在篮球教学中进行全员、全程、全方位育人,将充分发挥高校篮球运动课程的育人功效。     

学前教育专业学生人文素养现状及提升策略研究——以大庆师范学院为例

教师教育是培养教师的关键环节,是教师队伍建设的源头活水。新时代教育背景下,国家和社会对幼儿教师的人文素养提出了更高的要求。对学前教育专业学生而言,提高自身的人文素养对增强自身竞争力,对提升学前教育质量至关重要。研究采用问卷的方式对大庆师范学院256名学前教育专业学生的人文素养现状进行调查。结果表明:社会生存能力相对较高;个人生存能力中人际交往、行为习惯和自理能力较弱;家庭生存能力中,关爱家人、安全意识和家务劳动需要强化;集体生存能力中归属感较弱。针对学前教育专业学生人文素养现状中存在的这些问题,文章从重视学前教育专业学生人文素养课程的建构、打造具有高水平人文素养的学前教育专业教师队伍、利用校园文化,对学生的人文素养进行熏陶、改革学校评价方式,构建科学的评价体系、家庭和社会共同培育等方面对学前教育专业学生人文素养提出提升策略。     

英美文学课程教学中存在的问题及对策研究——以宁夏大学新华学院为例

英美文学课程教学的目的不仅仅是传授文学作品和文学知识,更重要的是激发学生的文学审美情趣,使学生的人文素质和修养得到提高。分析了传统英美文学课程教学中存在的问题,并提出了相应的解决方案。     

英语阐释性说明文层级连贯

针对英语专业作文中存在的主题不够突出、结构不合理、条理性不清等连贯性问题,结合低语境文化、主位推进模式、衔接手段等理论,提出英语阐释性说明文层级连贯作为解决方案。采用实证研究法,对英语专业实验班和对照班的阐释性说明文进行了层级连贯的横向和纵向对比研究。结果证明：层级连贯培训有助于学生作文水平的提高,培训后学生作文在主题、结构和条理性方面有明显进步。
