术后胃瘫患者早期肠内营养支持治疗的护理方法及效果

目的：探讨肠内营养支持治疗腹部术后胃瘫的护理方法及效果。方法经确诊的11例腹部手术后胃瘫患者均放置鼻胃肠营养管,行肠内营养（ EN）治疗,观察患者的适应情况、肛门排气;前白蛋白及淋巴细胞计数等营养状况的变化,做好肠内营养的护理。结果本组病例淋巴细胞计数和前白蛋白术后较术前有显著改变,显示术后早期EN可提高营养状况和机体免疫功能;所有患者胃肠功能均恢复,无再次手术,无相关并发症。结论腹部术后胃瘫患者应用肠内营养可以缩短胃瘫的病程,采用鼻胃肠营养管泵入肠内营养的方法符合生理,且经济、安全、方便,又能减少并发症的发生。     

Bayesian analysis of directed graphs data with applications to social networks

Summary.  A fully Bayesian analysis of directed graphs, with particular emphasis on applica- tions in social networks, is explored. The model is capable of incorporating the effects of covariates, within and between block ties and multiple responses. Inference is straightforward by using software that is based on Markov chain Monte Carlo methods. Examples are provided which highlight the variety of data sets that can be entertained and the ease with which they can be analysed.

Teaching social research methods after the critical turn: challenges and benefits of a constructivist pedagogy

An increasing challenge for teaching methods courses in the social sciences is the ‘critical turn’, which has encouraged some students to adopt an anti-empirical orientation. We present a case study of a compulsory undergraduate methods course in a political science department strongly influenced by post-structuralist philosophies. The first author redesigned the course to implement four constructivist pedagogical principles: (1) develop a full understanding of students’ pre-existing perceptions of political science research methods; (2) encourage students to see methodology as an inevitably contested field; (3) provide space for students to choose a methodological approach that best aligns with their personal stance on knowledge; and (4) encourage students to view research as an ongoing ‘conversation’. We critically reflect on the implementation of these constructivist pedagogical strategies and argue they improve students’ critical engagement with course material, increase linkages between methods teaching and other disciplinary subject matter, and accommodate diverse student perspectives and needs.     

Studying Individual and Family Development: Linking Theory and Research

The predominant theoretical orientation of the majority of scientists studying human behavioral development and family functioning is derived from systems models. These theories are dynamic in their conceptualization and emphasize process and context. To a large extent, the analytic strategies we employ are not consistent with our theoretical assumptions. Analytic methods that focus on moderating and mediating processes rather than main effects, on within‐group variability and the sources of that variability, and on the identification of interrelated patterns of change in individuals, families, and environments are needed for our research results to mirror the complexity of our theories.
